It's dark in here!!!!!
I have an eMac, so this may be something just specific to my machine, but I can't read a lot of what is here because it seems to be black letters on a black background. Some of the text is a deep blue on the black background and that is very difficult to read, but I can lean close and squint and finally see it. For example, I'm assuming that the little box over the big box I'm typing in probably says "Subject" or some such thing over or under it, but I can't see anything. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm on an IMac and was just thinking the same thing, in fact, replying or pm's are difficult to see at all with the black background. I can't read anything and it's giving me a headache/eyestrain.
Other than that the site is Wonderfantabulous!!!
But, is this a Mac problem or general thing?

no problem here (Mac OS X 10.3.8, Safari 1.2.4, FireFox 1.0). Tell me about your setup. you might also make sure that your display preferences are set to 'Millions'.

That would be as said above a millions display preference. Try looking at Firefox or Safari. Resolution 1024 or higher 85MHZ refresh would be best (that is the avaerage Mac default)
Works fine on Jaguar, Panther and Tiger!

Oh my goodness! Davin and Electric, I have no idea what you're talking about! I'll have to wait till I get home to see if I can figure out how to fix it, now that I know it has to be a problem that should be fixable on my end. I'm at work right now and everything looks great on our Dell.

It's dark here, too! Not on everything - in fact, I've only noticed it late last night. The box surrounding the box I'm currently typing in is black and the words "Post icons" are dark blue and barely readable. When I tried to upload my avatar last night I kept getting an error message, but didn't realise this for ages (it was late!) because it was black on black. I've just had another go at the avatar and got black on black again at the instructions stage. Ok if you know it's there as it shows up when I highlight it, but it seems I've been missing lots because I've not known where to look.
Oh, and the text in "Additional options" under the blue headings "Miscellaneous options" etc are in black on black, too.
I'm on Mac Os 9 IE 5, colours already set to millions.

Hemeynell, that's exactly what I was experiencing. I have OS X. I'm still at work, but I'll be going home in a few hours and if I get it figured out, I'll post to let you know.

I am also on an I-book. OSX and all my backgrounds are black. Can't read half of anything. I checked I am set to millions. Any other suggestions?
Also, it took forever to actually see the home page (hours) Now that I am on here, I am afraid to close because I don't know if I can get back on.
Okay figured it out. Cannot go through explorer must be safari. Sorry

Thanks, all. I just had to switch to Safari. Wonder why it doesn't work on Explorer? Oh, well. I'll do what I have to.

too much black
Hi, Daven,
I have an imac, OS 9.2. Yes, I know we need a newer computer!! But anyway, I am getting many black boxes, with pale bluish purple writing that I can hardly read, and in some cases there must be writing there because there are boxes to check, etc. that I can't see anything else but the black box. My colors are checked on the "millions" category. Any other suggestions?
Thanks for the wonderful site. I love most of the new changes...You and your staff do such great work. Never found another site that is sooooo addicting!
Oh, and I don't have Safari, just netscape.
Sue

I'm still experiencing the blackness. Kind of bearable now I'm more familiar with the forum but I still feel like I'm probably missing something.

I notice that my HTML is "off". Would this make a difference in the black screen?
