Daven,
Is there a chance that, in the future, we would be able to upload our cards to the gallery in .gif format? I always save mine that way and I always have to reformat them to upload here.
Hugs,
Gina K.

Seriously? That's awesome. I use .gifs for a couple of reasons. The are a better quality file and you can create your own animated file if you want to. (Not for the SCS gallery, of course.) And you can create transparent images so you can overlay them on different color background.
I could certainly use .jpeg but I am a creature of habit and I always get bitten when I go to upload here and it comes back that it won't accept my format.
Thanks so much Jenn. Gonna' go upload a card!

Actually, jpg is a better quality file. The GIF format only supports a palette with 256 colors while JPGs palette supports 16 million colors. GIF employs a technique called dithering, which basically tricks the eye into believing the color is solid. GIFs should really only be used with images with solid areas of color, line drawings/logos, images that need transparency or animation.
JPEG was designed to compress high-quality (photographs, very detailed artwork, etc.) without sacrificing quality (because you have 16 million colors, not just 256). It handles subtle shadings and color blends more efficiently than GIF.
Just my two cents from what I learned in Graphic Design/Web Design 101.
okay, I had added a space after a comma - maybe now it will work.
Thanks Jenn.
I was having trouble with the quality loss of jpegs on my blog and one of our graphic designers recommended that I try them as gifs and the quality really bumped up for me so I like to save them that way.
I suppose I should get in the habit of saving them both ways for different applications.
I appreciate you taking the time to work this out.
Hugs,
Gina
