Default Long Hesitation due to ads

Since early this afternoon (ET), when I click on any link to change the screen, there is a longgggggg hesitation before the page loads. At the lower left bottom of my screen it is always saying that it is waiting for an ad to load. Can someone look into this.

I was so very excited recently when, after commenting on someone's card, it was faster to get back to that gallery. That was a fabulous change.

Now I am used to things happening faster so I am spoiled......and don't like these extended ad loading.......

I know thiings are busy with DTGD, but would appreciate someone checking this out when time allows.

hugs
joanne

sometimes I think that all I have to do to solve a problem is to put a thread here.......somehow things often 'heal themselves'........and that's what happened today....doesn't seem to be doing as of the last few minutes......

so......unless it occurs again, this problem has been solved.....

hugs

HAHA! That does have magical properties. If you're using firefox and you're in the newest version, you may be experiencing the agony I'm going through. It has TERRIBLE memory leaking and everything is painfully slow to load. Your flash player can be a culprit too. I have to kill Firefox about 4 times a day when it bloats to 3 Gig and start over.

Lydia,
Can you explain that it simpler terms? I'm not sure I understand you but I've sure had a lot of trouble with Firefox hanging up lately--on all sites.
Thanks,
Karen

It's really, really bad lately.

Basically, it just sucks up all your RAM - on my computer, (I have a Windows machine) I do Ctrl+alt+delete and then choose task manager to look at performance. The previous version of Firefox used 1.8-2 Gig of RAM. This crazy new update uses 3 GIG! It totally freezes up my computer. I use task manager to kill and restart it when it gets bloated but they need to fix it fast.

I'd love to tell you Chrome is better but it's worse.

Lydia,
Yes, me too. I thought it might be because my computer is 7 years old. We just got a new one but haven't loaded it yet (haven't had time). When I hit Ctrl+alt+delete sometimes that really hangs up too. After two or three tries it says something like it couldn't connect and to hit Escape. After that hanging up a couple of times it goes back to my original screen. It's been very frustrating and I'm still not sure if it's our computer or Firefox, but I'm sure tired of it wasting my time.
Thanks for your input!!!

Hmmm...I've noticed it a bit on my Mac using Safari, too. I can run windows on it, but I choose not to if I can help it, lol.

I think that at times the ads and banners are what slows us down. They get things embedded in them and I prefer to not have to deal with them.

I think that I've mentioned this in the past on a different thread, but I never see or have to deal with ads or the malware that sometimes is associated with it. I would like to introduce those that maybe interested in a program that is free called Adblock plus. You can get it for free, but they ask if you can to donate. I donated $10. I have never regretted it. I get no ads that snag me up. You know how you get all that crap on the top of your youtube feed. I see none of that. I love it. I highly recommend it.

When you go to as many blogs and sites that we all tend to do with our crafting search and research, this is a godsend for your computer. I have a MACbook and I have to tell you that it works well with it. They have different versions, so regardless of what computer you have or browser you use, you can use this with it. At the very least you should check it out.

I believe it is a husband and wife team that has decided to make this their personal mission.

If I've stepped on any toes, please forgive me. I just thought it could be the banner ads and stuff that may be slowing you down, and that if you hate pop ups as much as I do you might appreciate this program.

I have found it about a year ago and was a sceptic and even went so far as to uninstalled it, because it looked too weird, (no ads, banners or any of that is strange at first). Then the ads just got to where I couldn't stand it any longer and I reinstalled it, and after 2 weeks of giving it a fair and honest test drive, I donated $10.

I do know that some people don't mind the ads and stuff, but I hate them because I know that malware gets attached to ads all the time and I've never had a problem ever again.

I hope this wasn't too far off topic and can help someone!!

Kathy
