Default Firefox bug not allowing you to log in

I just thought I'd post this, and maybe it will save someone from getting shook up if it happens to them.

I got logged out of SCS this morning when I had a computer crash. When I tried to log back in, I did notice that as soon as I hit the Log in button my password disappeared, then I got sent to the wrong password page. I cleaned my cache and cookies, but still couldn't get in. I reset my password, and still couldn't get in. Then I remembered that a new version of Firefox had installed itself. I also suddenly remembered there were weird things going on with Pinterest. Normally when I pin to Pinterest, if I highlight the title of what I am pinning, that will be the title that appears on my pin, but it wasn't happening for me any more. It's probably related.

Anyway, I got logged in with Chrome. Now I've got to file a bug report with Mozilla.

I hope this post saves someone else from frustration if this should happen to you. I also hope Firefox gets fixed fast!

Very interesting. As far as your password being cleared out - that's the cookie setting in your browser. Your login info is in a cookie. So you may just need to tweak the settings in the new version to always accep cookies from our domain and that should fix it.

Thanks, I've been tweaking, but Firefox still isn't letting me in. I even allowed pages to track me. I reset the password from the rest password page in the hopes that it would help. The new password works fine in Chrome. So far I am only having problems with SCS and Pinterest, but I also belong to a couple of other groups that I think I will have problems with as well.

I haven't had a problem yet but after Firefox automatically loaded the new version it was asking me about tracking. I'll watch to see what happens, but thanks for the forewarning.

The one thing I didn't do was to shut my computer down, then restart it. That was kind of dumb of me, but I had a lot of complicated things I had to do today, plus a lot of errands.

I was trying to hurry to get everything done so I could make cards, and never thought of it. I've got to get to bed now, but hopefully when I turn my computer on tomorrow, it will be all straightened out!
