Question Firefox 4 and the red heart

Just wondering if that particular issue is fixed, since I see FF is now encouraging me to go to version 5. I've been holding off on 4 till the red heart was working!! Or has anybody tried 5 yet?

I was doing the same, avoiding 4 every time it asks me for this reason and a few other bugs FF4 had to resolve.

Thanks for the update!

Ha! The only problem is that now I can only find downloads for 5, even after going through 3 pages of Google search. I'll have to find my saved link to a site that does old versions of stuff.

Yeah, you should be honoured - I listen to radio online all the time, and THEY were telling me to migrate up to 4 to solve all my problems with them .

If you go to this page:

I updated to firefox 5 but all my foxtabs are gone. What can I do. I need them. I've tried to download firefox 4 but I can't | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help

The first answer to the top question has this link to the file for 4.0:

To download Firefox 4 (English US) use this link: http://download.mozilla.org/?product...win&lang=en-US

Hope this helps. I might chicken out and wait and see how you make out with it Hope this helps!

Well done, Leslie, for finding that. I must admit I was busy with other things, but I had a pretty good look this morning.
I won't be installing it tonight while I'm moderating - just in case!! - but I'll PM you tomorrow after work and let you know how it went .

Oops, I didn't notice you are in Ireland. There's also a UK version on that site below the US one (at least I think it was on that page).

My Firefox did an update when I signed on my home computer (was emailing from work earlier while on break) and it put me at 3.6.18. I wonder if there are still problems and they're not updating to 4.0 or 5.0, at least temporarily.

The automatic updates don't ever change your version, they just upgrade whatever version you are with, as far as I know. To change version requires input from the user .
And I found the UK version, although the only place it makes any difference really is the spell-checker.

Ah, I see! I wondered about the difference in the UK/US version and the spellchecker makes total sense. We Canadians tend to like all those extra letter "U"s in our words too LOL! I think it did prompt me, asking if I wanted to upgraded but maybe not. I'll watch it over the weekend and see if any other prompts come up and decide then whether to upgrade.

Nice chatting with you

Seems to be fine .
I always back up with MozBackup anyway, but everything transferred across fine.
It even updated my British English spell-checker add-on for me, but I had to go and find another one for managing Delicious, which DH uses.

I'll tell you something else - the red heart works in FF 5 too .
But Google Toolbar doesn't .
I don't know if I'll move up when I get back to my own PC on Sunday!

My problem with FireFox is that I can't get a Print Preview and print only what I select. Does anyone else have that problem. It's been in every version I've had. I also have a new printer and it still doesn't work (different brand even). When I updated to version 5.0 today it said it couldn't add my yahoo bar but during the installation it asked to check for updates and was able to add the yahoo bar, but not print preview. Does anyone have a solution for me? Otherwise I'm stuck with IE 9. I do a lot of selection printing and would like to use FireFox but I can't. Thanks for any suggestions.

I've always been able to Print Selection. I make my selection, click on Print from the File menu and then choose Print Selection. I have my printer properties set to show me a preview before printing, so if it's not right I can reject it.

Thanks Sabrina,
I worked at it a little and was able to finally come up with it. There's more to it than in IE as far as adjusting (I like to condense down to one page if possible so have to keep resetting the % and starting over.) IE is much easier to work with in regards to this but at least I know I can do it in Firefox now. Thanks again.

I think it's your popup blocker maybe.. I've never done Print Preview before, but I just did it and the preview opens in a popup. Check both your Firefox and your antivirus settings and make sure you allow popups and it looks like it will work...
