or is it just my computer? It seems that ever since the new upgrade it has been even slower than ever! It's so bad that I haven't been on here that much lately....it's so frustrating.
PAINFULLY!!! I keep thinking it must me my computer but all of the other sites I visit seem ok. I do love the new layout but the speed has me wishing it was just faster and not fancier.
I have no problem in the forums but when I get to the "today's additions" that's when it really slows down. I feel bad because sometimes I want to post a comment but it just won't go.
I do know if you have a chance to get on this site at other times of the day besides evening things move much faster. I've read where some people check out the galleries first thing in the morning and have much better speed.
I think there are just so many of us stampers that we overwhelm the site sometimes. I love this site, fast or not so fast.

I am glad to hear it is not just me. I thought this was being fixed. It is so bad. I can only get to see the new cards in the early morning hours, like 6am till about 9, then it is just too slow so I don't go to additions until the next day. This was my favorite thing to do, look at all the great new cards and add my comments. I am so frustrated, I love this site and really would love to see it back the way it used to be. If they need more money to get even better equipment, I would gladly contribute a little more money. I am sure most of us would. With the amout of people using this site, they could get plenty to do what ever is needed to speed this up.
I have been a member on here for well over a year, my number is 3439, now what is the number up to? I know it is very high. With that many people, I am sure that is the problem. But I love all the information and people that I have met through here and I don't want to stop coming here. It just isn't as much fun when you have to wait so many minutes inbetween every page. It takes all night to go through just a few.
Oh, well, it just feels good to get that off your chest once in awhile.
Yes, it is sloooow! I've noticed, too, that there aren't as many comments on the cards in the gallery. It just takes for ever to leave a comment, even when you open a card in a second window (which I guess slows the site down even more!).
I donated when they first asked for contributions and will do so again when it comes time to renew. It's still a great site with features you won't find anywhere else, but I do hope they can get the speed up to par soon!

I also donated money and offered to give more, they told me that I need only to give yearly.
It is true, the cards do not have that many comments on them anymore and I know it must because of the slowness and people just do not want to take the extra time. What a shame.
Hopefully they can continue to work on this and fix the problem.
the speed of the site is our number one issue, and has been for some time. it's frustrating! it's not directly related to any of our recent enhancements, but just a function of how many people are here at a given time. mornings and evenings *are* much better, but that's not much consolation when you want to see something NOW. good news is that later this week we're starting a new project to address the speed issue. it's a nerdy technical problem and we won't have an overnight solution but I'm hopeful that we can finally get this fixed. we'll definitely let everyone know as soon as there's news to report.

Even though the gallery has been moving along slower lately, this site is still the BEST EVER ! I've also adjusted my viewing time to very late nite or very early morning, when it seems to run a bit quicker due to lower viewer volume. Just can't stay away completely with all the amazing creativity there! YOU ALL ROCK & we know you're always working as hard as humanly possible to keep things going as smoothly as possible! THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!

I am so thankful that I have this site to go to ( it is the only stamping site I go to) the people here have helped me out so much, more than you know.

best times are after east coast starts going to bed, and before west coast starts getting up. friday-sunday are our lightest traffic days. I'm meeting tomorrow with a couple people who's brains are larger than mine, I'll update you if anything notable comes out of it.

i seriously doubt there are many with brains larger than yours.
my hubby will agree after you got the gallery to work with vbulletin!
When I go into the gallery and try to post a comment, it won't let me in. I get a message that says Fatal Error: Allowed memory size of 52428800 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 12 bytes). Is this with the website or is this with my computer? When I look at the disk space I have 6.2 GB so there appears to be lots there. Can anyone help? I haven't been able to post a comment for a couple of days.
I am not complaining, I am just curious because I am not computer literate so if it is the website that's ok I can live with that but if its mine I need to get it looked at.
I've been staying up till midnight almost every night just so I can get through today's additions in the gallery every day. I'm too old for this! Can't wait for whatever speed improvements are in the works Daven!!! I will not give up the gallery even if it's slow...I do make less comments though, which is sad. So much great work so deserving.

well... I'm a 'newbie' to this site, and was SO glad to find this thread. Now I know it's not just me that gets frustrated with the gallery. I, too, would LOVE to leave comments about everyone's work, but it's just takes WAY too much time. I am on the east coast, and as soon as hubby is out the door at 6:15, I am here with my cup-o-coffee!! Sad thing for me is.... school starts in 3 weeks... which means, I'll need to be getting myself ready for work and won't be able to come here during this glorious time of day!! :(
