Can't access SCS from laptop

Help!!
On Thursday, I was browsing from DH's laptop no problem.
On Friday morning, the orange reatangle with the white S showed in the tab, but I couldn't connect. I thought it was an SCS server problem till I came upstairs to get my backup, and could access it from my PC no problems.
So last night I installed Firefox on the laptop, in case it was an IE problem.
Still no luck - every other site I tried was fine, but not SCS.
So last night while I was formatting my drive and reinstalling Windows and service packs and drivers and so on, instead of being able to browse the DTGD uploads on the laptop, I had to resort to my knitting. Waaah. It was good for my knitting, but still, waaah.
Is there some way I could have locked myself out on the laptop? It's XP Pro, and IE7. And I did try Firefox3.
Any help would be so much appreciated - I get my morning fix on the laptop .

When you say "couldn't connect," are you getting a specific error message. Yesterday, I was getting a Page Load - Connection Interrupted message. I get it once in a while for SCS and no other site. Another poster and I are wondering if it's our computers or SCS.

I'm not getting the same error message as you but I am getting one. 99% of the time that I click on a photo or forum thread, I receive the following -
"The Web address you entered is not available" and when I click on More Info, I get:

"a 50x server error was received attempting to serve your request, indicating that either the server is currently unable to handle the request or the request timed out waiting for a response. The error may have been due to a temporary issue and therefore you could try to access the web address again."

So, I click on a photo and get the above message, then "X" out and try the photo again and it goes through. Same thing happens on Forum Threads and when I make a comment on someone's card.

Sheesh, I can't remember the exact message after the day I've had.
It was something like either I wasn't connected, OR the server was experiencing problems OR something to to with the DNS. A list of about 5 possibilties.

This is exactly what has been happening to me!!! There is another thread going with issues as well. I posted there too. I am sorry for everyone else's problems, but soooooo relieved it is not just me. FYI, I am having problems with my PC as well though not as bad. Right now as I type this I have X's where icons should be and I am on my PC not my laptop which I gave up on.

I was going to get a screen shot of the message I was getting.
But then, inspired by seeing me formatting my PC, DH finally did his laptop, which he's been talking about for months. He needed some help getting the wireless connection back again, but as it was in my interest to speed the process up, I sorted it out this morning, so I have SCS back on the laptop again. Still curious to know what the problem might have been, but at least it's not a problem for me anymore.
