I was hoping to put the avatar that I use on the other site I regularly visit on this site as well. It is a picture of a bead my oldest son made for me. I can't figure out how to add it to my profile. :(
Also, when you are done checking this site do you log out each time or just close the link?

Hi Gail, welcome!! At the top right you will see welcome and your name, click on that, in the next screen toward the top left you will see edit avatar and click on that and you will be able to upload your photo!

For me, this site is always open in one of my tabs!

Hey Gail! Lori is right - and be sure you choose the avatar field, not the profile field if you want it to show up on your posts

Also, after you upload it, wait a few minutes before it appears - there's a slight delay. But it will go back and show on all your old posts.

I have an Avatar question. For the last few months, my Avatar doesn't show up in the gallery, but does in the forums. I've noticed a few other people with the same problem.

I've tried uploading a new picture to see if that would take care of it. It doesn't.

Any suggestions?

BTW--when I upload a new picture, it always tells me that my upload failed and then the new picture shows up as if it didn't fail. ??!!

Well on the gallery - your avatar does show up - but you have to leave the page and come back to see it. It's a little bug from an upgrade about 6 months ago, and I do have a ticket in on this issue.. but you will see it if you come back to that page.

On the upload fail issue - if your upload goes in successfully, then you may be seeing a cached copy of the message from a previous time when an upload did fail. I'd try clearing your cache and see if that helps.
