People in this area actually refer to the Golden Horseshoe as the Niagara Region because of the Horseshoe Falls (Niagara Falls). That's the first I've heard of it referred to as the area around Lake Ontario, but I guess that makes sense too.
About Niverville - I like that town. I have family all over the "Menno belt" of Southern Manitoba, & my mom was born & raised in Steinbach. I've been through St. Malo.
Definitely a small world. My parents actually live in St. Malo, MB (maybe 20 minutes from Niverville) but we have eaten at a Chinese food restaurant there when I go to visit!
We used to go swimming at St. Malo beach. My parents live in Grunthal, MB. They bussed us to Niverville for shops and home economics.
Small world!
Hi. Another Canadian here and fairly new to SCS. I would always look at the site and be so inspired by all the lovely work. I finally took the plunge and joined just a couple of months ago and absolutely love it.
Hi All,
Here from somewhat chilly today, Oxford Mills, Ontario. That's near our nations capital if some aren't sure! Just wanted to say hello or bonjour to our French Canadians. Happy to be a new member.

Crafty Elf I am from Fonthill (next to Welland/St. Catharines). Do you like shopping at The Memory Keeper? It's one of my favourite stores. I like stopping there whenever I am in Hamilton. Are there any other stores in the area where you like to shop?

Hey Happy Stamper, I lived in Fonthill for 3 years on Arbor Circle, lived in St Catharines for 4 years on Rykert and then Fenwick for 3 years on Welland Rd... small world isn't it!

Definitely a small world...I live on Townsend Circle (sound familiar) on the corner of Welland Rd. directly across from Arbor Circle! We've been here 12 years, would you have lived on Arbor in the last 12 years? Which house were you in on Arbor?
My husband's cousin got married in Oct. and I found out yesterday that she and her new husband just moved into a house in Oxford Mills. Yup...it's a small world!
any good stores in Niagara area? I don't drive, so I mostly shop online or in Michaels - if I need something fast..

Happy Stamper Ink. I'm familiar with Fonthill. My sister lived there for about three years - 17 years ago. Very nice town. I do love the Memory Keeper and go often. There is another place that is good too. It is on Plains Rd. in Burlington. Here is their site. Forever Scrapbooks. Scrapbook Superstore located in Burlington, Ontario

I know Townsend! I lived at #3 which used to be beside the empty lot on the corner but they finally built the house there. What a surprise when I was visiting one time and the house was built. Lol

I just sent the link to a friend who I scrap with in Niagara, she's in fonthill and there really isn't much to speak of for shopping in Niagara. Now I want to plan a trip so that I can visit the store too! Thanks for the link!

Here are links to the 3 stores that I shop at here in Niagara. Unfortunately the Scrapping Nook in Welland is the only one set up for on-line shopping so far. It is more of a scrapbooking supply store, whereas the other two are geared more to card making and stamping. I like them all depending on what it is I need.

Funny, when I sit in my living room and look out the window I look right at the house where you used to live! We watched the new house be built on the empty lot a few years ago.

Thanks for the link. I've bookmarked it for on-line shopping, and the next time I'm in Burlington I will stop in and check it out in person.

well if you remember seeing a red pickup truck or a black jeep in the driveway years ago then that was me!
I have gone to the store in Port Colbourne and normally get an idea or two and they are extremely helpful in demonstrating product etc.
I have been to the one in welland but most things they have I see elsewhere easily. I know they haven't been up n running for a long time so I think give them a year or two and it will be different.
I didn't know about the one in st catharines though! Will have to check it out!

Don't remember the pickup or the jeep as I'm not one to pay attention to details like that (and don't have a good memory either!). I'm usually looking at the trees behind the houses watching them change with the seasons. But that's just me. lol
The Scrapping Nook in Welland was originally in Fonthill by Keith's Restaurant, and it changed hands and moved to it's new location a year ago. She's really turned it into a nice store and has gradually been adding more and more new product. It's just geared more to scrapbooking and I spend more time making cards so I usually end up at the other two stores. They are good for cs and embellies though.

I'm the same way, I really do cards and other items. I never got into the scrapbooking as I have a mind that does not have the patience for extensive projects. I scrapped my daughters first five years then said ok enough of that.
Hi Marg, I'm Dianne from Ontario. I have been stamping and scrapbooking for about 5 years now and can't get enough of it. I have a craft room in my basement and get lost down there for hours. My husband and kids I obsessed too. I have been with this sight for over a year now, but am just starting to use it. Hope to hear back from you soon. Have fun and keep stampin.
Hi Cuddles 87541 Dianne
Where are you in Ontario? I am in Port Perry and I also
love to stamp craft and have my own craft room. I
teach two classes each month.
Chris
There were a couple of posts in here mentioning stores in the Niagara/Welland area. There is Duffy's Classics (The Rubber Stamp Store) in St. Catharines. They are definitely geared to stampers and cardmakers. They have incredible samples in there and an awesome selection of everything. I'm addicted to this store! They don't have an on-line store but they will mail stuff to you if you know what you're looking for. Tell them Charlene sent you

Charlene, Duffy's is one of my favourite stores. I just love all the samples they display to inspire you. Of course, it inspires me to spend money though too!
ha ha! I just asked Con to mail me some stuff because even with the shipping costs, it's still cheaper than if I step foot in that store! Their samples are incredible and I have bought so many stamps because of their samples! Not to mention all the other stuff that ends up in my basket! Ha next time I'm in I'll have to ask if there are any SCSers in there!

Hi Chris, I am in Brampton, I love stamping, card making, scrapbooking. If you are ever in the Brampton area, please let me know and maybe we can hook up for some stamping. Keep in Touch. Dianne
Hi Tammy, I'm Dianne, and live in Brampton. I am new to this site, I signed up about 2 years ago and never used it, so here I am. If you want to hook up for a day of scraping, let me know, I have a craft room in my home and could lost for hours down there. Take Care, Dianne
Thanks Dianne - that certainly is not too far away. Maybe we could meet for a day of shopping! I want to check out a place in Mississauga on Argentia - not too far for you.
Hey Tammy, that store is not far from me at all. There is another store up in Erin, which is just north of Georgetown. Anytime you want to go just let me know. I will be on holidays the first two weeks in July so if you're interested about goinjg shopping and mybe having lunch I'm game. Take care Dianne
Hola from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Read back at all of the Niverville, Steinbach, St. Malo posts.... I used to live in Otterburne for 2 years so I know you all very well.
