Default Where do I find...

Where in the heck do I find white glossy card stock?! I've looked Michael's & Hobby Lobby by where they have the cardstock & can't find it. I was in Office Depot for some other stuff and I saw paper and thought I would check to see if they had any, nope! I've been able to find other colors of gloss cardstock but not white.

I know SU would have it but I don't want to track down a SU dealer and then get a hold of a catolog and then place and order and then wait for it to come. I want it now. I want to try the soot cards. I tried it with photo paper, it worked but not. It has to much plastic or something it it cause I could smell plastic when I did it and it cracked. :o

I did find some gold/brass and silvery blue colored gloss card stock papers I am going to see if that works too for the colored soot cards. It was marked down so I figured it's not going to hurt anything.

Try a stamping or scrapbooking store. Other than SU, those are the only stores I've seen them in.

I also was in your boat. I needed glossy paper. Some one told me the closeset your gonna get is photo printer paper. DID NOT work near as good as the glossy that SU! carries.
Good Luck,
Melanie

I have purchased a ream from a local print shop before but nothing matches the quality and results that you get from SU glossy paper.

There have been previous threads about where to find glossy, you might try a search. The one common theme I remember is that none match the quality of SU. You can use the demo locator on www.stampinup.com to find someone close to you. If you tell her you want some glossy cardstock you won't have to wait to get a catalog, etc. Delivery is normally pretty quick (around a week for me from order to delivery).

You could probably even ask here for a demo near you. There's so many of us around the country that are on here, someone could be right around the corner from you.

Wow! This topic comes up ALOT on SCS! Check your local paper store--not office supply store. The product is called Kromecote(sp?) and you want it 92lb. It is the same stuff SU sells. The paper stores will sell it by the sheet or ream. I use it alot so I buy the ream, about 11 cents a sheet.

thanks for your replies.

I guess I don't think of asking if anyone on here is near me because I figure that there won't be. I guess I could try.

I've bought Kromekote at a local Paper Zone store. But if there isn't one near, here is the link for the online store:

Don't know your location, but PaperZone has a great supply of everything paper related. Cardstock, pre-cut cards, envelopes, scrapbook stuff.... et cetera. I buy glossy CS in reams.
Have fun with the soot stamping. I tried it out on Sunday night and LOVE the results.
