Default Brunswick Maine Scrap/Stamp Stores

So if I were to go with my husband while he is working for a little trip, would I have some fun scrap/stamp stores in Maine to visit??

Any other ideas on things to do??? (Like Target???)

Smile Shopping

I haven't lived in Brunswick for a number of years, so, I can't tell you if there are any crafts/stamp stores. However, as for other things to do... Go shopping at the outlets in Freeport! That's where the LLBean store is located. It's a quaint town with lots of places to shop.

I love Brunswick. Especially, this time of year with all of the leaves changing color. I'm trying to convince my husband to make a road trip to Brunswick before they close the military base.

If you go, have fun!

Default Maine Stamp Stores

I live in Southwest Harbor, Maine, on Mt. Desert Island. Have been a Maineiac all my life and have visited many stamp and scrap stores in the 10+ years I've been doing this.

Freeport has a great stamp store on Route 1, about 3 miles south of LLBean. It's called Stamps & Stuff and is open 7 days a week. Not 24/7, like LLBean, but we're working on it.

In Gray, Maine (10 miles north of Portland) there's a scrapbooking store that I've heard is quite extensive -- it's just south of the Me. Turnpike exit, so is easy to find.

Also, there's a scrapbooking store in Augusta, just outside of the rotary near Cony High School, called Scrapbooks. It may be a chain store, I'm not sure. TONS of papers, stickers, etc. Truly a scrapping store.

And in Winthrop (less than 10 miles outside of Augusta) there's a cute stamp store called Your Maine Stamper.

If you come to Maine via points south by vehicle, Mainely Stamps is on Route 1 in Kittery and in Portland you can find AC Moore, Michaels and Start Scrappin' & Stampin within 2 miles of each other at the Maine Mall area. SS&S is a very good store; full line of Bazzill, plus they have stamps as well as more scrapbooking supplies, classes, etc. Worth a visit.

There is a great store in Waterville, Me (15 mi north of Augusta) called Yardgoods; they have fabric and yarn and a great selection of stamps -- from all different companies, many new products, punches, etc. It's a much different and larger selection than the chain craft stores offer. Not as easy to find but well worth it. It's my favorite, due to the unique selection and the fact they keep up on what's new and endeavor to get it. They offer classes, as well, which is usually indicative of an active scrapping/stamping store, not just a supply store.

If you'd like contact info for any of these stores, so you can get directions and hours, please email me--I'm more than happy to help!

I'M FROM BRUNSWICK, MAINE!!!!!

I live in DC, now, BUT...

My sister still lives there! She'll give you a personal tour of all the stamp and scrap stores in the area, although you may have to twist her arm <LOL> My personal favorite is mad cat crafts in lewiston...but she has lots more up her sleeve. PM me with your email and I'll get you two in touch!

PS the Stamps and Stuff store in Freeport went out of business last year...was my fave spot to visit...picked up some mad deals, although sad deals, during their out of business closing. The owner taught me how to stamp with chalk ink on glossy paper and then rub a tissue over the top, makes it shiny again, instead of matte! I think chalk ink is the only trend I got on before SU did...

I didnt' realize Stamps & Stuff had closed -- always sad to see a stamping store go out of business, but they'd been open for a long time.

I travel up the Turnpike to Bangor, then head down to Mt. Desert Island, so haven't been up 295 through Freeport for a long time. Thanks for saving me the trip to the stamp store there!
