This is definitely the kind of moving I like... no packing, no lifting, no unpacking. Maybe I'll get more of the challenges done this round. I think I only did 2 or 3 last round.
Hello, Alpha Sisters
I PM'd Ann a while back and asked about joining your group. I admit I have been lurking and now that a new round is starting, it seems like an opportune time to join. She suggested I introduce myself, but I am not sure what to say.
I love making cards and I'm starting to put some in my gallery, so this weekly challenge will help keep me creating. I also participate in the Mixed Media challenge (MMJ2022), the Twisted Sisters Bus Tour, a PIF thread, and a Monthly Technique challenge. I like coloring with copic markers, love beautiful designer paper and die cuts. I also enjoy fun folds and mixed media.
I might not be too "chatty" at first, but I love the vibe of your friendly support of each other. I look forward to being part of your sisterhood.
Teri
Welcome Terri! You'll enjoy this friendly, encouraging group of sisters! This is one group that I always "try" to keep up with. I'm members of other groups, but I'm not as diligent in keeping up with chat and challenges. Not enough time in the day!
Thanks Ann and also, thanks to your helpers: Annette, Shelly, and Sharon. Great ideas ladies!
I'm going to try to get in my craft room and finish round 16...I have Y and Z left. I want to finish commenting on all the cards...lots to do...better get a move on!
Happy week to all! Hugs

Ann, I don't get an email from you when a new round is about to begin. Can you please add me to your list and send the most recent one my way? [email protected]
Thank you,

Teri, pm me if you would like to be on the Alpha Crew list. It is a list of members with birthdays and address. Some send birthday cards to each other but it is not a requirement to do so.
It is also not required to be an Alpha Sister to be on the list. Some like to keep their information private and I always respect their wishes.
Good morning! We got a lot done at the VBS prep party but boy, was it hard on me! I had a table fall and drop on my feet (wearing sandals) and then I banged my hand on another table taking it down. I think I'm going to have a bruise for a while on my hand. The prep party is a four hour block of time that people are encouraged to come help, open house style, for as little or as long as they can. But, for our family, since DD2 is the leader, it turns into a five and a half hour outing because we get there early to set up and stay late to put everything away. I didn't sign up for this! LOL
DD1 came and helped though she was extremely tired. She did a read-a-thon over the weekend and read 12 books in about 34 hours. She did sleep a little in there but not much. She took today off because she knew she would need it for recovery.
I agree with Melody, this is best kind of moving! Thank you, Ann, and your helpers, for the fun challenges that you came up with. I'm confused by the letter K though!
Anne, praying your surgery goes well.
Welcome, Teri! So glad you are joining us. This is a wonderful group of crafters. Where do you live?
Jean, it sounds like you are having a fabulous time. Yay!
Ann, I signed up for DTGD, but I had to do some searching to find the sign up spreadsheet. It is in post #53 of the DTGD Planning thread. Just in case anyone wants to sign up for a challenge. Openings for July 19 - 22. Looks like fun!

Letter "K" is for Kit, like a card kit you get from a friend. It contains all the items you need to make a card! So make your own kit and create!
Or if you are like Shelly, reach for a card kit already in your possession!! LOL! Had to say it Shelly!
I just signed up to be a Stampin' Up demonstrator and they sent a Paper Pumpkin kit. I think I will use that one when the time comes. It is a kit from July 2021 so it should work well for August 2022.
Regarding kits, I think that could mean anything that you purchased or received as a 'kit' or a set. Could be a stamp/die bundle, or paper and coordinating ink, or a tool kit (like flower shaping tools, or distressing tools), or a set of ink pens or colored pencils, gelatos, watercolor crayons, etc. Or a set of stencils and embossing pastes. As artists, we are allowed to think outside the box and encouraged to color outside the lines. Don't build fences or put yourself in a cage. Always feel free to reach beyond the boundaries of your comfort zone.
TeriJ, I just made 7 backgrounds watching the video you shared! Thanks so much for sharing. Tomorrow, I'll get to make a card from one of them. It was a great video and they all turned out great...in my opinion. Neat process for attaching the vellum.

DH spent the morning digging the septic tanks. We have to have them pumped every 5 years. He dug ours and moms. They get pumped on june 2nd. Then he went shopping for risers so we won't ever have to dig them up again. My sister's isn't down deep as ours so he can do that next Wednesday.
Kathy, yes we added a riser to our septic tank years ago too! Made it easier to be pumped. LOL! Ours get pumped every six months!! I do it to protect our system! Was yearly but with all of us home with the pandemic I went back to 6 months. It's an expense but consider what it would cost if it failed I think it's ok.
Gracie, I'm with you, the little things excite me!! Like standing to take a hot shower! I so appreciate it after my foot being so sore not able to stand on it!!
Good morning! I've already admired the deer this morning both in front and back yards. They are so pretty and sweet. I was able to do some crafting last night. Finally made a couple of Christmas cards that had stuff sitting on my desk just waiting for me to select paper and finish up! Then I started on a set of cards using a napkin that was from our Monday night Bible study last week. I didn't get that finished but it is in process. Of course, I need to be thinking about tomorrow's Alphabet challenge.
Thanks for the explanation for letter K, Ann, and for the expansion of ideas on that, Melody. I don't have card kits in the strict sense of the word so the expansion is very helpful.
Congrats on your House Mouse win, Ann, beautiful card!
Teri, I'll have to check out that video when I get home from work. Thanks for sharing it.
Yay for getting your Z card done, Gracie. And for getting happy about the little things!
All this talk about septic tanks, I asked DH what a riser is! We're on a septic system here.
Ann, I have a ridiculous amount of backgrounds ready to go...and don't use them! I need to make it my mission to use them up. Of course, I also have a mission to use up my designer paper....help!
Uh-oh, there goes my alarm. Off to finish getting ready for work.
Have a great day at work, Catherine! I love watching the deer. I'll get to see some when we get back to the cabin. We should have chatted last night, as we were both crafting...glad you got some Christmas cards made!
