Shirl, I don't really hate it. It's just that it's something I normally wouldn't have made except that I really needed a mind occupied and it worked great!

I just scrolled back and saw you said it was a card. Nothing like this hobby to distract yourself from life issues!
Okay, you are the paper queen. What has been your faves?

Good morning!
Happy birthday, Jan! I second Jayne's comment of no work projects today! I hope it isn't too crowded so you can enjoy a nice lunch out. I'll be interested to know if my card ever makes it to you.
Linda, I'm so happy you have Dr. Sonja to craft with you. That is wonderful.
Melody, where is your commitment? Not willing to pull out all your stamps to see what fits in the jar...goodness...;)
Kathy, your card is amazing! I "watched" the video and saw that yes, it does fold flat. What an impressive card. Of course, I love your paper choices, so pretty.
For those of you who married younger men, you did what they say we should do since women, in general, live longer than men. I didn't follow that suggestion, however. DH is three years older than me. Actually, he is 34 months older than me and our girls are 34 months apart in age as well. We are a very balanced family...ha!
Jayne, I will have to go check out your teapot challenge card. I haven't done that challenge in a while. I am finding it challenging to find time to craft. I did, finally, make my C card last night but haven't taken photos yet.
Jan, tea in bed sounds lovely. What kind of tea do you prefer?
Jayne, the "when you were younger and there were dinosaurs" made me laugh. I tend to say that to the girls, "When I was younger and dinosaurs roamed the earth..." Of course, they tell me I'm 24. Each year on my birthday I turn 25 and then somehow revert to 24. This is something they came up with on their own. DD1 better be careful, she is just four years away from being my age!
Wow, you all have a lot of clocks! I think we all rely on our phones and other electronic devices for the time (probably because they are the most accurate). There are two clocks in the kitchen because they are built into appliances and then we have a clock in our bedroom - which I have started covering at night to make the room darker.
Your girls did that too, Kandie? For several years, I got them identical things because I got tired of hearing that they liked what their sister got better than what they got! They don't do that anymore though, their tastes have diverged.
Shirl, glad your bloodwork numbers were good, yay!
As for paper, no, I haven't ordered. I am working using up my patterned paper. I'm leaning more towards using plain card stock and making my own patterns when I want something.

Shirl, I think my favorite is always the newest one I'm working on at any time! This newest one does fold flat but it's a bit thick so maybe an 8x8" envelope would be best.

Having said that I wasted some good paper today trying a new technique. Usually this lady is great at explaining things but she precut some pieces and never showed us how to make them. And she messed up at the beginning and I couldn't wrap my mind around it after that. Two sheets of navy and two sheets of white and one dsp and I ended up tossing it out. I'm not usually a quitter but today is bad mental day for me. I've been crying all day on and off for no real reason! I guess I will have to give in and take my anxiety meds. Was hoping to get through it by crying it out of my system.

Funny one, Melody!
Shoot, earlier I had what I thought was a brilliant idea for my dark card...now I can't remember what it was!

Just back from a walk. It is a perfect crisp and sunny fall day here.

Catherine, I think you were going to make a totally black card, with a description that your bedroom clocks were too bright at night so you covered them to make it darker! You’re welcome, lol.
I don’t remember, did I tell you about the extra-large (to me) guy at Walmart recently? His “protective mask” was a Crown Royal blue (purple?) liquor bag with gold rope drawstring ties, and he had the bag hanging from over his nose down and the drawstrings wrapped around his head.
My DH is 8 years older than me. Some days we have everything in common, and some days those 8 years really make a difference. From a man from the “quiet generation” and country music, to a lady who is a Baby Boomer and loves rock and roll...

Ann, I have been through that painful no-visible-veins torture! I had so many nurses trying to put in the needle (gosh I hate it when they try the top of the hand) that when a doctor walked by I yelled Help! He found a guy who was smooth as silk with the needle, but by then, as you know, you are already hyper-sensitive to the needle touching your skin. Your poor thing! :(. :(. :(

That is too funny, Shirl, that you sometimes can't decipher what your idea is. Frustrating too, sometimes, I'm sure.
Kandie, that made me laugh out loud! DD1 had to know what I was laughing about.
I did make both my C and D cards and have now uploaded them both.
Jayne, I managed to get your challenge on my D card too!

Shirl this makes me smile as I do that all the time. I write notes and then think what did I mean by that lol. I’m going to try and decipher my notes today as I have some sample cards to make, plus tomorrow is our monthly craft group and we are making Xmas cards..easy ones off Pinterest, so I need to get my papers out.
I was given a pack of patterned Xmas papers by Paper Rose the other day. DH asked why. I told him because I spent over a certain amount. Thank goodness he didn’t ask what that amount was lol. He stopped on the way back from my specialist appointment so I could get some stash and to cheer me up. He’s a keeper.

You ladies all rock. Have I told you that? Some of you are crazy and I like that lol. I love the humour. I’m smiling lots today. Thank you.
I’ve also decided to have the op...well that’s for today. I still have 5/6 weeks to decide but I think it’s better out than in. I shall push to have it in 2021 as I don’t trust this year *wink*
Have a fun weekend everyone

LOL, Jayne, thanks, but I have enough designer paper to use up here without some from your stash.
I think you have a point about better out than in - and the concern that if you wait too long, the medical people will say not to bother.
Did any of you have trick or treaters tonight? I didn't see evidence of them in our neighborhood.

None at this house although I know they went across the road. Our home always looks in darkness and we don’t put the outside lights on unless we need to. I did have lollies waiting but was glad in a way that no one called as DH wasn’t well and was in bed very early and I was on a zoom quiz with my family who are in lockdown. The little ones must think our home looks scary lol.

Yep we all have 10 questions....I get ours off the net lol....and we zoom together...4 households and take it in turn to ask our questions. It’s such fun. Lots of laughs and then we share Covid experiences. It’s different for them as they are like you guys..they be been in lockdown a few times and now back in it. It helps to chat and have some fun.

For Catherine and Jayne on the frantage. Here is a link:
Amazon.ca : stampendous embossing enamel
I see I do not have all of them, lol.....
We had reese's peanut butter cups in case anyone knocked on our door. (We live in an apt. condo)....we had our neighbour knock on the door dressed as a witch, but she was beautiful. Not scary at all. I dislike the scary.
Aw, thanks Jayne, I love knowing I am not the only one who doesn't leave detailed enough notes for myself. They are not all like that of course. I am able to figure out what I meant on some of the notes, lol
I decided I had enough paper for now and did not order anything from SU. I just was not all that keen in the end to order anything right now.

Well, I am winding down for bed. 11 p.m. here, but we just did the clock change, and it is 10 p.m. but my body is saying it is 11. Changed at least 10 clocks, watches etc.
Just remember on the frantage you heat it from underneath to melt it. If you do it on the top it, the gun will blow it all away from where you want it.
I spied a few colors I don't have yet, so I have just enabled myself, lol.

Reese's peanut butter cups would be the safe thing for me to have on hand for trick or treaters because I don't like them. So they wouldn't tempt me to eat them at all! It wouldn't be good for DH though, he loves them.
Shirl, thanks for the link - you enabler, you!

But you don't NEED every color. I hardly ever heat emboss, so I got rid of a lot of embossing powder... AND GLITTER. I hate glitter. It sounds like that embossing powder is the same as UTEE (ultra thick). I have clear and antique gold (I think).

Mornin Ladies, thank you for all the birthday wishes, our son was quite amazed where they had all arrived from! I had lots of FaceTime calls, GSs singing I’m 102, ha,ha, last night eldest GS called to chat, he said he sorry I wasn’t over with them as usual then he told the Grand doggies I was their Great Grandmother! A long story but son in SF send a gift but had to insure it, last week we had a letter from the customs saying it was at the airport in Madrid, a load of questions, we tried to explain that we don’t know what it is as it’s a gift! The lady in the PO checked it all for us and posted it off, no word yet, our son says at least it’s managed to cross the Atlantic! Had a lovely walk along the Paseo yesterday, it was beautiful and not many people around so we had a lunch menu, mixed salad, crab salad with bread and garlic Mayo, sole with fries, chocolate cake, glass of wine and coffee! €11 each!

Shirl I have a few of those Frantages, I always forget to heat from below!
I love glitter but always cover everything in it, I have far too much of it and embossing powders too.
We don’t have clocks in the bedrooms, I hate anything with a light showing so I have my iPhone, steve bought me a stand for it that charges at the same time but it has a blue light so I don’t use it during the night! We have a clock that looks like a wristwatch, we bought it in Germany when I was pregnant with our eldest who is 48, loses time a little but it still works, our sons think it’s ugly but I tell them it’s a heirloom!

Melody is EP the same as frantage? I do have a few colours so now I won’t be enabled lol. I rarely heat emboss too although I love to see it on cards. I’m hopeless at it. I get lumps and clumps even though I use my little emboss buddy thingy lol.
I forgot to say that a few of you have a lot of clocks. We don’t have one on a wall and just our watches, bedside clock radio and the microwave and oven. I only look at the time if I have to go out for an appointment. I love my iPhone ad that knows what time it is wherever I am and just switches to the correct time if overseas or interstate.. not that I’m travelling right now lol.
Jan, the Uk is back in total lockdown from Thursday..my brother just told me..eek. So sad. It’s my nieces birthday later in the week and they were all going out next weekend but have had to change it to today.

Jayne, I forgot to say earlier on, we watched Boris last night, our son is quite depressed about it, I think many are worried about their jobs now;
It's quiet here with the mini lockdown but it suits us not to have to keep zigzagging along the seafront. we woke up to fog this morning, I think we've only ever had fog five times in eighteen years, ha,ha it was quite a shock when we opened the blinds, still had a walk, Steve still had shorts and a Polo shirt on!

Good morning ladies.
Jayne, I looked up 'frantage' on Google, and there apparently is no such actual word. I thought maybe it was French, but nothing came up. Google switched my question to frontage. LOL. I could be wrong, but I think it's just a fancy word that Stampenous is using to identify that particular product. Definitely just embossing powder... looks like some is thick (also known as UTEE - ultra thick embossing enamel).
UTEE is great for when you want a thick coating, such as for cracked glass, or if you are stamping in it for an image impression. You can get a thick coating with regular embossing powder, but you have to use more coats of it. Even with UTEE, you may sometimes want more than one coat. If you sprinkle it on or dip your paper into the powder while the previous coating is still hot, the loose powder will cling to the heated powder, and you can continue melting it without it all blowing away.
If you have pigment inks, such as ColorBox or distress (especially distress oxides), you can use colored ink with clear embossing powder. It looks slightly different, but still works pretty much the same.

Melody I use inks with clear EP and I also have some of the extra thick, I’ve got the distress ones too but they never work as TH shows you to rub them afterwards, most likely me!
I’ve been watching videos but as soon as they start waving their hands about for five minutes I’m done, no patience, just get on with it, ha,ha,
Kathy I hope you are feeling better, this year is enough to get anyone down, I hope that’s what it is and nothing else worrying you!
