Thanks Melody, when I was chatting with Jayne she was saying I could use some BGs as tags or for scrapbooking,
The card I ruined I cut the back off and kept the front and panel as it’s was a folded one I had kind of made up as I went along, I will try to make another along the same lines.

It’s heavenly, just had a swim after we swept the bottom of the pool, I know sounds weird but where they have replaced the pipes I think sand got in them and as it’s filling it’s sending sand through the pipes so we’ve swept it to the deep end so the bottom drain will take it out, I can only walk half way then I have to cling on to the side while I sweep, lots of scum too but the skimmers dealing with that.
I hate having workmen around, Steve laughs at me as I go to my craft room out of the way, he can deal with them, I just make sure there’s plenty of cold water for them.

Morning!!
Loved reading the comments on CAS cards!!
You will never see hostesses challenge a card for a challenge. The guideline on SCS is that the individual has made a card for the challenge and you are to be thankful for that! LOL!
Why do I know this you ask? Because I was told so when I tried to help someone understand a challenge!! I was only trying to help the person but I got in trouble for doing so!
Clean and simple has a different meaning in the eyes of each card maker. So out of respect for each individual, hostesses just let it go.
We had a wonderful day yesterday, and the kids actually went swimming. The pool temperature kept rising so we said if it gets this warm you can go in! And sure enough it did! Our front thermometer read 90.1 degrees at one point in the afternoon! It was a hot one here!
Off to look at the challenges and hopefully catch up on commenting!

Good morning ladies!
I'm not sure what I will get up to today. The weather has changed drastically in the last hour and they are calling for storms this afternoon. If they come in, I will end up downstairs with Farley. He gets so terrified when there is high winds and thunder/lightning. He prefers to be down in the basement in the family room where there are no windows and he can't see or hear it as much. I just end up watching movies and crocheting.
I agree with everyone about challenges and rules. I try really hard to follow the challenge and only stretch it a bit when I don't have exactly the supplies that it may call for.
I'm glad your pool is fixed Jan.
Time to get stuff done. Have a great day!

Ann , I find CAS cards difficult, my CAS cards usually end up with one layer as I don’t like to go straight on to the card, I’ve ruined too many that way , at least with a layer I can scrap it if iit goes wrong.

Ann, my opinion, you should never get into trouble for following the rules and trying to help!
I think its OK to bend a bit to make a card for a challenge but you shouldnt take a card you already made and try to find a challenge to fit it! That's what I feel was done with the person who entered the card in fifteen challenges. It felt like she made a card for one challenge and then went looking to see how many other challenges she could get it to fit. So technically, the hostess wouldn't feel honored that a card was made just for her challenge. I don't want to make anyone feel bad if they stretched a bit when making a card for a challenge, because I have certainly done that. But I haven't made a card for a challenge and then went looking for ten more challenges and figuring out how they fit. Now, having said that, if someone goes through and writes down all those 15 challenges and what they require and then pulls a card together for them all, that would be awesome! I have enough trouble trying to find one alpha letter for the challenge! LOL

CAS is probably my style. I wish I could do shabby chic! I love the look of vintage but I just don't have the eye for it. So I drool in the gallery.

Good morning! It is hot here. I think it was just last week that DH actually built a fire in the wood stove on a couple of days because the house was that cool. Now, we are supposed to hit the 90s here at the house and triple digits down the hill where I normally work. We already went for a walk around the loop and it was almost too warm for that. Poor Honey, she really needs a haircut and now it is quite warm. I always wish we could gradually change from cold/cool to warm/hot but it never seems to work that way.
I was thinking about my TLC card. I wish I had a small snowflake punch, it would be a perfect finishing touch. If I even had snowflake sequins that would work too.
Jayne, please don't feel bad about posting your cards to the CAS challenge (or any challenge for that matter!). It's all good. I just like to understand what the parameters are.
And no worries about my back, I have always been a physically strong person. Good thing too, because I have had to lift some heavy things in some of my jobs.
Thank you too for leaving some love in my gallery!
Yay that your pool is done, Jan, just in time too, it sounds like.
I also have some cards that I'm not sure who I would send them to. Great tips for dealing with that, Melody. Thank you!
Poor Farley, Annette. I'm glad you have an area where he can chill.
You need a voice to text app, Gracie, to save you from trying one handed typing. I hope your hand is healing.

Kathy, when I've made a card for a number of challenges, that is what I have done. I have written them all down and then put my thinking cap on to make a card that fits them all. Sometimes it is easier than others. But I have NEVER managed 15 challenges with one card!

I've done that too. I think three is the most that I've written down and then made a card to fit them all.
Its 86° here! My SU order is supposed to arrive today! If it does DH says we can run out and get it if we stop at Wendy's for a frosty on the way home! Win win!

Jan, a CAS card can certainly have more than one layer. I rarely make a card without at least one layer attached to my card base, and most of my cards lean toward CAS.

Raise your hand if you can remember further back than 2018! I thought I started the YCDI challenge, but from what I see, Lynn (fmcrafter) hosted that, although at the end the people were thanking Lynn and me, so I'm guessing that I helped her. I remember making lists of the challenges. And for Lisa (ashdale) mix it up challenge. Hey. Give me credit for remembering Lisa! She hasn't been on in years!

I just keep forgetting I don’t have to throw away a ruined card, that I can just “repurpose” it into something new! Thanks for the reminders, ladies!
I think I managed 4 or 5 challenges a week or two ago, but I listed each challenge on a sheet of paper, then next to each I put down something that would blend harmoniously into one card. It turned out well. Then, I did the same thing this weekend, ended up making 2 cards because of too many ideas. And they turned out lousy! HA! Joke was on me that time, lol.
Here are two of the boxes of Washi tapes I got. Oops. Should have used something to show size. Be right back.
Ok, here they are, with their box lids, with a mechanical pencil for comparison. The tape rolls are small, but heavens, there are so many in a box! I hate to use any of them, so pretty. And the box lids are good enough for inspirations.

Oh, Kandie, you definitely need to use those! I've had washi tape get old and not come off the roll nicely, because I don't use it - just kept tearing. ---- like an old, old roll of masking tape. The adhesive dries out.

Welcome to the heat, Kathy. What is your humidity? That is what makes it worse for me. It is 93 here currently (and 102 down the hill where my office is) with humidity of 29%. I am so thankful for the two new windows that DH installed. The house isn't warming up as much inside as it did with the old windows.
Beautiful washi tape, Kandie! I have inherited some washi tape from DD1 that she no longer wants. However, I don't use washi very often at all so I need to think on that!
Kathy, it depends on what the memory is on how long I retain it in my accessible memory! Some things definitely last longer than others! lol

Humidity was high but I didn't see what percentage it was. My SU order arrived at demos around 7 p.m. That's the latest it's ever been! We went out and got it and then stopped at Wendy's for a frosty. It was melting too quickly to enjoy it.

Wow lots of chat. I may not be in order or remember everything but here goes.
Kandie, those tapes, love, love, love.
Catherine and Kathy and Ann...wow that’s hot weather you all are having. It’s cold here...raining and 20 degrees but feels about 10. We have the heating on and the next 2 days we have storms coming again. We have sent our heat to you guys LOL. Keep cool
I am intrigued as to how someone can put one cad against 15 challenges...really? I write the challenges down and see where I can put one item against 2 or more...I think the most I’ve done may be 3 challenges..or 4. No more. I’m not that clever LOL. If I do the colour or sketch challenges I usually can find another one to add to those but I rarely do those ones. Not sure why. Jan, never feel afraid to put a card against a challenge. As someone said above...I think our dear Ann......the most important thing is that you have made a card and it’s your interpretation. Just check my gallery and see my CAS cards. I think I did do one once LOL. I rarely do one layer cards but that is me.
Annette, way to go....whoohoo...can’t wait to see what your challenge is.
Gracie, you legend you. I crafted with Gracie today...and chatted...I even had a few senior moments there today didn’t I Gracie LOL. Was fun. I watched Gracie craft with one and half hands...she was making an amazing card and I got such inspiration from her for my Tickle card. Thanks Gracie.
Melody, thanks for the tips. I remember you once telling me that I could cut up BGs as strips and to use on cards. I do use them as tags occasionally. I was showing Gracie all of my BGs today. I have learnt over time on this site that busy patterns don’t always mix even though I like busy. I’m learning all the time from you ladies and others...thank you.
Jan, I was glad to read that your pool had been fixed. Enjoy swimming in it.
I can’t remember the rest...sorry. I need to post a scrapbook page and then get on with dinner. Happy day and so looking forward to Saturday my time even though I still haven’t worked out what time it is LOL.

What a rough night. Tried sleeping in bed. DH rubbed my back sometime around 2 a.m. but still couldn't sleep so I came out on the living room floor for a couple of hours. When DH got up to go turkey hunting I went back to bed for a while. I have to go up and stay with dad soon. Mom is taking her van to be inspected. I hope he is settled in because I have a headache and nothing to do while there. I don't want to drag a lot of stuff up just to bring it back down in an hour. But then again, it's not all about me. I really need to remind myself of that a lot lately.

The humidity here is above 90% and the temp hit 91 yesterday. It was a sweat-runs into-your-eyes kind of day. DH worked on his shed several hours and then gave up, took a cool shower, and then napped on the couch. I was worried he’d get too hot. I spent two hours on all the flowers, removing dead petals and watering, scrubbing out both bird baths and filling with fresh water because we are being warned about stagnant water attracting mosquitoes. Wow it was hot! My hair was soaked. Dusty and I watched a few episodes of Monk while I cooled off, lol.
Did anyone watch America’s Got Talent last night?
But Kathy, you have to take care of yourself as well, and I feel for you with the headaches. They drain the energy right out of a person. I’ve had one every single morning lately, so I know. Does your dad stay quiet, or does he require constant entertaining, if I may ask?

Good morning! I have started to reorganize my craft room and put stuff in another room in preparation for my new space. I needed to take down some old shelves and patch the walls so I've done that. My stamps were on those and it will make VSN on Friday a little more challenging but I'm excited to get my new space complete and organized.
Those high temps and humidity are too much for me. I giggle when Jayne says it's cold at 20c. That is the perfect temperature for me (not the feels like 10 part though). I guess it's all relative when you have winters that drop to -30c.
I slept in this morning and haven't had my tea yet so I'd better get busy. Have a great day all!

Looking forward to Friday for VSN as well!! Annette so glad you are joining in as a hostess! We are all here to help you if you have questions! Most important thing is to be around and chat and comment on peoples cards! Everyone enjoys getting comments!
Kandie, Ed was working in that heat! That is a no no! Hope he rested well afterwards!
Jan, so glad your pool is up and working! Great relief from the heat!
Our grandkids were in for a few hours again! This heat sure is heating up the pool.
Hi Melody - I'm off to eat too! Stomach is growling!

Picked asparagus... should have done it yesterday - I think some of it grew 2 feet. Turned on the AC and now I need to go wash dishes. DH called a different company for the water softener, since no one seems to be getting back to us for service. This one said they would come out today. So hopefully that will happen.

Melody, I hope your serviceman comes as promised. It is frustrating when people don't show up when they say. Yum to the asparagus! I could eat it every day. I have a friend delivering some rhubarb today. I will be making muffins. Yum!

Kandie, dad was good for me. Mom doesn't help him as much. She's afraid he'll start depending on her too much. But he makes me nervous when he's standing! The van passed inspection. After she left, I thought how much my brain is off! I could have taken it for her. But then maybe she needed to get out. The mechanic is a Christian and he was very clean. She says he even wiped down the steering wheel when he was done. I was happy I put a new mask in there because she used it! I had forgotten that I did that.
No worries about getting ahead of the alpha letter. Rather ahead than behind.
It is 82 here already and mom's barometer said 85% humidity!

The tutorial was very easy! I posted pictures but no details. I uploaded quickly before going to mom's so now I'll go back in and edit and add some details.
My demo has another woman wanting to come to class! That makes 7 of us now and I am going to start helping demo. She's giving me perks, besides no class fee.
