They also provide support for those who care for them. Every card they send must have a personal message written inside. Start off with "Dear Hero" or something similar. This makes is appropriate for any military unit service member. The message can be a simple "thinning of you", "thank you for your service", or a note describing yourself, your family, your town, etc. Write from the heart. Sign your name, city, and state.
OQC also accepts messages written on 4x5 sheets of paper or on index ards which will be attached to greeting cards. You could even have a child decorate one side of an index card and write a message on the other side.
TYPE OF CARDS REQUESTED:
Thank You, Thinking of You, Patriotic, anything cheerful and bright that will encourage, just a cheerful hello or thanking the service member for their service or telling them what an inspiration they are to you..even something along the lines of "You have made us proud". Also thank you cards for the medical staff who care for the sick and injured soldiers is welcome. SPECIAL RESTRICTIONS:
Please do not use any glitter or puffy paint or anything that could fall off into an open wound. Please do not include envelopes. Also, these are not get well cards - keep them positive, cheerful, and bright - and do not refer to war or injury or anything that could remind the service member of their past experiences.
GUIDELINES: Remember to include somewhere on the outside or inside of your package/envelope of cards that you are part of SCS Cards For A Cause group. This will help the organization keep track of how many cards they receive from our group. Please keep in mind, we are representing SCS by sending our cards each month. Recycling is always good, but only use products on your cards that you would like to receive on cards. Also, our card donations are not tax deductible and it is not required. Please do not ask for a receipt. There have been groups that will send thank you's but the "referred by" person keeps us informed and passes on the thank you's. Most of these organizations are volunteers and spend countless hours helping others, let's help make their jobs easier and bless them in helping others.

For a little added inspiration you can join us in playing along with the OPTIONAL challenge each month. This is only optional and you do not have to play along to send your cards to the featured cause for the month. We always take cards no matter if you play along in the challenge or not.
This months challenge is to be inspired by Red, White, and Blue – you can use one, two, or all three colors with others added or even use a US flag as the image.

If I missed posting a receipt of cards, it’s because I didn’t know they were from this group. I do keep track of all cards received for the troops so let me know and I’ll check my list
The cards that are arriving are just beautiful with wonderful messages inside. They will bring a smile to our troops! Thank you for putting your heart into these cards!
