introducing myself ...
Hi. My name is Jessie and my moniker is Sparkles ... for many years I signed myself as Jessie/Sparkles, but after a while it just became Jessie Sparkles.
I have been stamping for 20 years and for the last 5 have been tutoring card making at 2 local prisons where I go 4 days a week. The women love it and are very proud of what they make. I'm getting really wonderful results from them ...they're learning to share, to help one another, to listen (because I'm deaf and cannot hear myself think when they are all talking)
I donate everything which helps me to reduce my stash...but also encourages me to spend ever more money on stamping supplies. A local scrapbook shop donates some papers to me and a couple of years ago, I finally relented and purchased a die cutter and some dies. The prisons have now purchased 4 that they keep onsite.
I like to come here to see ideas that other (younger) people have thought up. The prisoners like simple stamping ... Whipper Snapper Designs, some Stampin Up (I don't have many of these) Flowers, Hearts, Butterflies and children, some cute animals ...
So, have rambled more than enough. Anyway, that's me and hoping to become a more active member from now on - hopefully I will bring another perspective to the group ... all the way from the bottom of the world in New Zealand!
