Need to get out and finish shoveling if I want to go to Make it Monday tonight. Did the back walk and drive. Had to come in and warm up/cool off, had some lunch. Need to do the front walks if I want to get my mail this week.
The song came into my head when I read Molly's location and saw the bottom line of her signature! LOL. There are no words to it. As a mother of two sons, I knew it very well.
Wonderful cards Jan and Kathy. Great to see some of you have joined in the challenge...thank you. I'm about to head out and will leave some love later.
Rebekah, great goals. Good to see you and Faye join us. Melissa was here before me..lol.
In case anyone is wondering, my challenge isn't to make a national day card, but any occasion. I just listed themes you could consider and especially the green and gold that is significant to Australia. Hope this helps.
I'm off to golf after a bad nights rest...it can't get worse.
Happy Tuesday and Monday evening everyone. Sleep well,

I guess i am chatty today! I was just thinking.. in my last job i was the one who had to go to work on snow days even though i was a single mom. Yup pack us in the car and take my son to work.. he hated it.
Keep safe all of you out there in the snow, we are having a very warm spell, we are making the most of it as February isn’t usually a good month weather wise, if we’re having rain that’s the month it will come, very often torrential.
Looks like our eldest might be getting snow too in the Uk, makes me so happy to live here when I see snow, I hate it, reminds me of all the times I struggled getting to work sliding up and down hills in the car to get home, Steve would wait at the bottom of our road to help push the car up if I got stuck, after he spent ages trying to clear the road, then we would both go back and help our sons get up the hill.

Jan I miss it. Let's not forget walking to work in our wellies ...8 miles. Hubby says I couldn't do it....I was young and fit then lol. And what about getting out of the car with a spade and shovelling the snow so you can get another inch or so up the hill only to accept defeat...lol. De-icing the lock to get your carkey in and scraping ice off the inside of the windows at home.....ah those were the days
February is our hottest month....usually.
I would take the cold over the heat anytime and especially as I've got older...hot flushes are enough thank you very much lol

I made a card for this Jayne's challenge only not remembering what it was she challenged us to use!
I made a card, that's important and I had fun doing it.
Faye, post it...I keep looking out for it

Kathy I finally managed to get the video open....I've been watching golf videos instead lol. It's been a while since I've heard the A team theme song. TFS.
Apart from watching golf tip videos...I need some lol....I crashed on the couch. After not sleeping well, being up early and playing 18 holes of golf, I couldn't keep my eyes open. I did manage to read too......Faye you will be interested to know I'm progressing.
Now waiting for hubby to BBQ my burger and we will watch a couple of episodes of GOT and then bed. Tomorrow I have a full day to myself and no one else will be home. I can craft to my little hearts content 😉😬
Happy day

Jayne, I miss English summers when it’s 38c heat here especially if it gets humid, luckily not often, apart from that I really hated winter, always have even as a child I didn’t like to have cold hands and feet, I enjoyed the days when we went in wellies to school and you could take your slippers, ha,ha,

I love the theme songs to the older TV shows. Bewitched. Magnum, P.I.. A-Team. Just a few off the top of my head.

Lynn I very often email our eldest who works in London, any problems in London or bad weather I email to make sure he is home safe, ha,ha, they are never too old to worry about.
I don't worry about my kids, and they don't worry about me. We are all adults, and worrying does not get you anywhere. When I fell and broke my shoulder while I was skiing, I called all three kids and had no answers, so just asked them to call me. A day later wuth no return calls, I e-mailed a photo of my black and blue eye. It didn't take long to get responses then! We love each other, but are all very independant people.

Ina, I wish I would not worry about them and like you ours do not worry about me or my hubby either. If we don't contact them we rarely hear unless they want something. As I'm getting older I am learning not to worry about that too. I'm sure they love us too but they are all so wrapped up in their own lives.
I remember when I didn't call my parents once for nearly 2 weeks as life was busy and boy did my mother remind me of the importance of checking on them. I still think about it at times.
When I was in hospital very sick many years ago none of them thought I was that bad. Even hubby didn't realise how bad it was until the Dr told him. I have learnt not to mention things although son1 and dil1 would wonder what was going on if we didn't ask about the poppets each week.
I wonder where I went wrong....they tell us that we over-indulged them and have made them who they are. Never no responsibility for their own actions. I wasn't the best mum and had to work full-time for many reasons and whilst I was studying. At the time I thought I was doing the right thing. I have learnt and still learning through my mistakes.
I think a visual would make them sit up. I will remember that for the future.
Sorry....this topic does always make me think. Hugs

I maybe in a slightly different category. My son is my caregiver. We had a talk and it works better for him if i text him every day and state how i am doing. If i am having a bad day he calls on his way home to get more details. When i get really bad it is my son who explains what is going on with me. Also i can use the text to tell the doc what is going on.
When my son goes backpacking it isn't always a place with a ranger. I ask location and route. If he doesn't text when he is done then i have a search area. Actually seeing him in person and talking about what is going on happens when there is freevtime which can be a month or more.
When it comes to family stuff i ask my son and his gf to meet me for a meal. I let them know how much time i think it may need and whether i need to meet sooner or later. The most recent was to talk about my declining health and that i have needed more help recently. We reviewed my lease and talked about me moving into their building.
I try and discuss things regularly because things change and lives change. We all agreed that this works well for all of us.
Lynn, did you make a decision about moving to your son's building? It sounds as though you may need to move closer to him.
I have sat for too long today but I need to keep crafting or I will never achieve my goals...stuffed up 1 out of 2 cards I made but going to see if I can recover the front panel somehow as it came out pretty. So disappointing when you make a card and then right at the end you either get ink on it or something else.....know that feeling? I waste so many cards but I am thinking that maybe I just cut the front panels if they are ok. At least 1 out of the 2 came out ok LOL.
Happy day...I need to move and drink my water LOL.

My lease goes to month to month in march so we decided to wait till after their trip to Jamaica to talk about it. I need to see what size the apartment are and what is available in their building. Then I will need to get rid of stuff. I had wanted to do that this past year but I was busy helping my friend. Now I just need to get my butt in gear.
Thanks Sharon and Jan for your kind comments on my Aussie card. Jan, the music paper behind my card is not part of the card. I was trying to hide the couch that I had it posed on.

Ina, I didn’t have my glasses on and it was just before I put the lamps on so it was getting dark, well that’s my excuse!! I can see that now, ha,ha, I think I was too busy looking at the sailing ships and saw the paper behind them.
It’s a lovely card, I like that fold but I’ve already made two!
Thanks for that Kathy, we have never tried the multiple FaceTime calls, mind you we only FaceTime family anyway! We could do with it though as the youngest GS who is three in April now takes his dads iPhone to show me his toys in his play room so we have to talk while he walks around with the phone, I’m usually looking at the ceiling or his hand,
So Ina are we having a weekly or biweekly challenge? And are we doing challenges that last two weeks?
I’m trying to organise myself for when mine week comes up, I’ve finally thought of an idea.
Ina, your card is amazing. Thank you for playing in my challenge. I was also wondering whether the challenges are weekly or was it changed? I'm happy to help out again if you need a hostess down the track and if I'm here.
Jan, you had me Rofl about Ina's musical paper and when Ina said she was trying to cover up her couch...lol. I also look at covering things up when I take photos to post.
Well time for me to seize Thursday. It's golf again and whilst we swelter with 38 degree most of you are freezing. I cannot imagine what it's like to be that cold. Keep warm. I worry about the homeless and elderly.
Hugs from oz everyone.

Jan, we are still having weekly challenges. They will generally be single week challenges. This week's challenge will be very easy.
