Sabrina is the hostess for the TLC and it's a four fold card. Looks like lots of fun!

The CAS challenge is to use 3 different patterns. I enjoyed a quick peek at the gallery! So fun to see the use of several patterns and still keep it CAS!

Oops! Misti and I are in cyberspace together at the same time! Now you will be sure not to miss the CAS challenge!

It is really interesting to read about all of our differences with coloring techniques which I suppose is why it's so interesting to browse the galleries every day. Angie, I admire your restraint in taking your time buying Copics. It's no secret that I love my Spectrum Noirs. Dare I say, more than Copics? I've just never had one of my Spectrum Noirs bleed all over my project. I remember when I bought them that I planned to buy them gradually. I don't know what happened but I woke up one day and had the whole set and a bad shopping hangover. LOL!
Happy Monday, all! Have a great day!

I have a ton of spectrum Noirs too, but I have the older version that dry out faster. I just add alcohol and can usually revive them.

I just bought a twelve pack of gelatos, the brights group. I have four gelatos which are all shades of blue, so I was looking to get other colors. This was a good deal with my 50% off coupon.

Oh, how fun on the Gelatos, Kathy!

Susan, it makes me happy to read that the thread is encouraging creativity and happy thoughts!

Well, Jennifer, it's also why I have a limited amount of colors at my disposal! LOL We also live 25 min from town and Hobby Lobby (where I like to buy mine) is in a terrible location so I don't collect them very fast! I really should try Spectrum Noir.

I hope all of you are having a more successful Monday than me!

I got a card made today, but only because I am hand delivering it today at an archery lesson... her birthday is tomorrow.

Yes fun on the Gelatos. They're great for backgrounds and edges. I was delighted to pick up some similar ones in LIDL recently, sort of a combination of the Crayola Twistables with the wster-soluble crayon. They fill out the Gelato spectrum nicely.

Not a better Monday here, I was hoping to be able to stay out of bed for a bit longer but an hour was my limit. So I had to call in and take another day off work. And both my cards for tomorrow are still unfinished on my desk :-(.

Awww! Sabrina, I am so very sorry you are so sick. Wish we could do more than give a cyber hug. Here's a cyber hug though since a meal or bringing you liquids isn't possible. (I say liquids because a friend recently just asked me to bring her liquids!)

Misti, I wish I had done some embossing for my patterns! I worked on a card for the CAS challenge but only after photographing did I realize that the patterned paper and the image looked horrid together. I ripped off the layers and started all over again. Only one patterned paper so I won't be playing, after all, this week unless something comes together later in the week!

Sabrina, I'm sorry you've been stuck in bed for days : ( Sending healing thoughts your way!
I finally made it into the craft room today after over a week of not stepping foot in there. I've been in a January funk - ugh. I did a few of last week's challenges and the CAS. Hopefully I can keep moving forward. I am dreaming of Spring even though it snowed all day long and more is expected tomorrow : (

I’m not very good at putting different patterns together, so I went with embossing folders.

Claudia to me it felt like had 21 days of Mondays in a row. If I could have my wish. I would cancel all activities the first 2 weeks of January from now on and get myself together! I have noticed a pattern the last few years!

We have a pretty Color Challenge today. Makes me think of Christmas!!!

The Tea Pot destination is one another and the theme is very interesting. I can't wait to check out the gallery!

Since the Teapot challenge is taking inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright let's talk art rooms!

Is your art room just the way you like it or do you have a dream art room?
Are there little things you could do to make the space you have now work better? I think most of us would love more space but if you can't have more space what could you do in your art room to make it more your dream space?

My room is currently close to a school bus yellow. (I didn't intend for it to be that bright but yellow can get away from you in a hurry) It was originally a dining room, then a guest room/office and now it's my office/art room. What I would love to do in my art room is paint the walls white and then have pink and black accents. A taller art table so that I could stand and work. Organized shelves.

How about you?

A pattern - me, too! February's just around the corner. We are in the deep freeze here along with lots of the country. Schools closed 3 days last week, and M-W already closed this week : (

Since it's so Wintery here, I guess I'll do a Christmas card with today's colors.

Angie, I have a similar craft room story. Mine was originally orange because it’s my favorite, but I learned that orange is not a good color for walls. They glowed and I couldn’t tell what color anything was. So now it’s a cream color. I have it all set up just the way I want it and I can reach most of stuff from my rolling stool. I would also love a higher table so I could stand. My dining room table is a tall pub table and I hate it. I have plans to replace it soon and move it to my craft room....

Did I not read somewhere about one of the states introducing home study for snow days? It sounded like a good idea, because the kids would keep up with the curriculum and not have to make the days up afterwards. I can see that it would require a certain amount of discipline/enforcement by parents, though. It sounds soooo cold in that vortex.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping I can manage to drag myself back to work tomorrow, so today's priorities are prepping next week's TLC and making a coffee-themed card requested by someone in work. Unfortunately I fear I'm more likely not to get back to work till Friday. No sick-pay is not an incentive to adequate recovery time :-(.

Sabrina, I hope you feel stronger today!!!

Brrrr.....my MIL wrote me it's -29F!!! Ugh! I can't imagine. We feel it's quite cold here when it dips into the 20's, today it's 22! I am glad today is my husband's weekend so he doesn't have to work out in it. Although, he sort of his working in it. He is trying to fix something.

Ok, so it's Wednesday and that means a new tutorial. Resourceful Art Journaling.
How many of us art journal?
If you don't art journal is it a future goal?

I do not. I tried a monthly challenge once and even paid $5.00 (not mandatory) to the one leading the group. I made it two months in! LOL I hated my work so I gave up. It's definitely a goal for my future self, though!

Sabrina, sorry you are still not feeling well. :(

I don’t have an art journal, I see gorgeous pages. It’s on my someday list. On the list for this year is to keep playing the mixability challenge & to get my watercoloring to look like I want it to.

I'm not in to art journaling at all, but I did the tutorial and had fun getting messy. I'm just not very artsy. I didn't do a page, I did a canvas board. Its in my gallery but not in the tutorial section yet because I couldn't find the tutorial technique gallery for it. Waiting to hear from dini as to where to add it. I'm more of a CAS type of gal, and also a CASE gal.

Angie your MIL must be my neighbor....right now my thermometer says it's -27 and I looked up the windchill and it's -48...The forecast high today is -15....the schools have been closed all week, likely closed again tomorrow and a lot of people are staying home or working from home. I went out and started up my car yesterday to run it for 10 min....probably won't venture out at all today....And get this...for the weekend they are saying mid 30's maybe a 40 (above zero!) ....what the heck??

Sometimes there isn't a gallery. Because we already have a category for art journal pages (and another specific sub-gallery for Bible art journalling) Dina might have felt that it would lead to stuff being scattered across two different galleries to no great effect.
And since you did yours on canvas, it would certainly fit in the Altered Canvas gallery ;-).

No art journal here either. It's simply not how I express myself. I'm happy to admire the beautiful creative pages I see, but it's not even a "some day" goal for me. I do make the odd canvas, though - in fact I need to buy another pack to have them handy.

She has it in anything but a card gallery, sub gallery art journaling. So I'll move it there unless i hear otherwise. Thanks!

No art journaling here, either. I love to mail my cards to people and gift boxes of them to my two non-crafty best friends; that keeps me busy.
My other paper crafting thing is keeping up with scrapbooks for our two grandchildren, a project I've steadily lost the joy for. I started when they each were born and they will be 12 and 14 in the next couple of months. I think I've become burnt out on scrapbooks.

Polly, it's much colder where you are than here - brrr. It's -4 degrees here now with high winds. Our grandkids have not had school all week, will probably not have it tomorrow, either, and had 3 snow days last week : (
Sabrina, I also read something about the on-line school during weather days but it doesn't seem to be a thing around here, at least not yet. I sure hope you're back to feeling well soon!

Oh I feel so lucky to live in Vancouver, Canada - our winters are pretty mild, and so far this year, we haven't had any snow. Keep warm, all of you, who live in those really cold places.

Sabrina, get well soon.

I don't do any art journaling - just not my thing. But I would like to do more of that style of artsy mixed media as backgrounds for cards.

I'm hoping to get two cards done today for this week's challenges. I've been too busy up till today.

I don't do any art journaling - just not my thing. But I would like to do more of that style of artsy mixed media as backgrounds for cards.

I'm hoping to get two cards done today for this week's challenges. I've been too busy up till today.

That in bold, I definitely enjoy that! But it's harder to carry off with your CAS style, I would think.

I've been up for over two hours and still holding:mrgreen:. Maybe I'll try work tomorrow after all. I'd hate to lose another day's pay.

I was so afraid to because all the ones I saw were so beautiful and intimidating. But then I took the Marie Blokland class - Art Journal Summer School - and she broke that fear - it's a private place to practice things - not something that has to be finished or perfect. My friend Meg McAlister takes her art journal to all classes she takes and puts extra paint and ink on the pages to serve as foundations for later. It's very satisfying

Polly my in-laws are in MN. DH's sibs are all in the Cities and his parents are in the SW corner of the state. I totally forgot to check on my sis. She is in IN! Tomorrow I will check on her.

Claudia, I can see why you might be burned out on scrapbooking. That is a long time! I never started because I knew how easily I get overwhelmed.

Misti, those are great goals!

Susan, wow, I wouldn't have thought your winters would be fairly mild. Glad to hear it though!

Kathy, I am off to check what your art page!

Hugs Sabrina! I hope you are well enough to work!

Lydia, what a cool idea to bring the art journal to all the classes. The Marie Blokland class - Art Journal sounds like it was fun and informative.

Hi Friends

Between yesterday and today I made 3 cards for the CAS challenge, and got them uploaded, 2 more cards using some of the same papers (but not uploaded) and 1 for the sketch using different papers I found on my table while searching for the first! I'll get a pic in the morning light.

I have to laugh when I hear about a box, as in a singular box, for scraps. Or a single drawer. I have baggies where I started separating by SU color families, then a folder that had non-SU paper, then random stuff that I just never got sorted...it's all on the table with my guillotine cutter and my big shot...and it's a mess. But the good thing is, I ran across some card fronts I cut ages ago. I'll convert those to very quick cards tomorrow.

Still working on the resolution to use up my paper stash. Check back with me in 2022.

LOL Kim, me too. Although at my rate I will be drowning in paper by then instead of having used it up! I didn't choose "oh, my! Paper!" as a username for nothing!

Technical question...when I click on Misti's link any morning I get an error message for a few hours and then later in the day it starts working normally. Is anyone else experiencing this?

That's a good Ways to Use It challenge - hopefully I'll have time tomorrow. I got two cards made and posted today - for the CAS Challenge and the Color Challenge.

Ways to Use It would be good for using some dp - I too have a ridiculously big stash. And nowadays I prefer to make my own backgrounds so don't see it very often. I tried making a resolution last year to make one card a week with dp on it - I failed miserably to keep the resolution!

Hmm...I don't know Sabrina. I will have to keep an eye out. I am on at 9:26 am this morning and it took me right to it. I am not sure but the same thing may have happened to me a few times last week. The link didn't go anywhere?

Have a great day everyone.

I hope you get dotty!!!!
So many ways to use dots!!!!
