I filled my 60 slots...but I'm not convinced I like my choices! LOL
I went to review SU's site, I had forgotten how many colors were retired last summer. I love Island Indigo, so it's staying! But...
When crushed curry was introduced as an in-color, I hated it. Was happy to see it go, then it came back to replace more mustard! Noooooooooooooooo!
I am keeping more mustard. But I prefer summer sun to crushed curry. But I have lots of dsp with crushed curry. Summer sun or crushed curry?
Do I keep bashful blue AND soft sky?
I prefer lucky limeade over old olive...they are similar...but...sigh. I love green. I currently have 15 slots filled with some shade of green!
I have so saffron, only because it is a pale yellow, so it fills in a gap. But it is BORING. I use it for flower centers, sponging around stuff, so it is used...but in this stiff competition, I don't know that it's worthy of a spot. heehee
Looking at my pistachio pudding and crisp cantaloupe, I'll get rid of them. But not before I make a stack of cards using card stock and dsp for the Ways to Use it Challenge!
This is going to be a long process! LOL

We are celebrating all things that go <POP!> Popcorn, balloons, Pop Up Cards! Let's see what you got! Plus, there is a new crew of sample makers to inspire you! Check them out!
Dark pics...but here is a look at my stack of inks that I will be giving or selling...if I don't change my mind! And my nearly empty old caddies...
And the first look at the final selection. Nothing written or stamped in stone yet. The extra ink bottles are evidence that I often ordered something before actually looking to see if I already had it. Ironically, I never ordered ink refills the year of poppy parade/concord crush, etc. But 3 of those colors are in the line-up now. I REALLY like concord crush and would love to have a refill for that one.

Angie, you asked what crafty goals we used for the Ways to Use It challenge. I used two goals - use up more of my stash of decorative paper and make ten Christmas cards a month and post them on SCS Christmas Card Challenge.
Not sure I'll get to the F4A tomorrow as I'm spending the day with a friend. But it sounds like a fun challenge. I had no idea there was a National Popcorn Day.

I actually have the perfect image for popcorn day I just don't know if I will have time. boo. Steve's day off and I will need to get the house together to celebrate our son's early birthday but if I can squeeze it in, I will!!!
Yay, Susan, that is awesome. I am off to check out your cards!
Kim, I just couldn't! I would have to keep them all except what was dried up! I just wouldn't be able to part with inks unless I thought they were truly ugly! I am no help at all when it comes to decluttering the stamp supplies!
Bummer, I'm getting a request for a password, and I was so happy for an early look at the challenge. I guess I can Google the Pantone colour of the year and start thinking. Was it last year they had two colours??
Twisted pop-up cards, I've been wanting to make another of those!
Oh, living coral. That triggers coral in my literal mind but it would look good on flowers too. I don't know how much to start planning until I can see the challenge, though, in case it turns out to be monochrome or have some other twist that I'd have to shoehorn in.
I hope you are able to see the challenge now, Sabrina? If not I think I could add photos here. The only Bonus Fairy points are to add some other colors in.
Have you noticed that in the gallery if you are a tutorial hostess your card gets stuck at the top of the individual's gallery page? I have noticed this but most of the time it's only a few and you can scroll down the gallery page to find the designer's current cards. This week I ONLY JUST realized that you actually have to scroll to page 4 (if you are viewing 36 cards at a time) before you locate Dina's newest gallery entries!!! She has some fabulous cards in her gallery, check it out if you haven't already.
If you usually view only 12 cards at a time in an individual's gallery you will have to click all the way over to page 12 to see Dina's recent uploads.
Well, Dina creates a tutorial sample at least once a month, so I'm not surprised. They need to be sticky so that they stay as the first upload in the technique gallery, but that makes them also sticky in the creator's member gallery too.
Yes, I could see the challenge after about 11.30 my time. I think you must have sneaked into the MIX staging area to grab your link ;-). But at least knowing the colour let it percolate in my mind for a while.

A big thank you to everyone who has already made a card for today's F4A challenge...Things that POP. Loved seeing different ideas...popcorn, balloons that pop, various fancy folds that POP open...ooh, my favorite might be the two that used bubble wrap... one has a tool, the other as an actual supply. You ladies are so clever!!
I just finished the sketch & WT challenge...took pictures despite the poor lighting. Getting ready to edit & upload then, I move on to the Friday challenges!

Oh my! I will be super careful in future. I don't know how I would have gotten in there but I will make sure that I am not in any staging area from now on.
Stacy is our hostess for the IC this week. She has chosen a birdhouse site. Such beautiful inspiration! I will upload my card around 9ish. Although I adore birdhouses, I needed some color inspiration for a floral card so I used the colors from a row of birdhouses as my inspiration.
We are finding our birds fascinating. When we change the food all of a sudden we get different birds. How do they know we change it? We counted almost 20 Yellow Finches at our feeders today! Only the one House Finch has stayed on. When we switched to a different birdfeed the flock of House Finches moved on. It's fascinating!
So if you get the chance to play this weekend, do you think you will pull out a birdhouse image or will you use something else as inspiration?
I was going to say I have two really nice birdhouse stamps, plus an MFT die that is right now sitting on my desk waiting to be used. Then I remembered my fun IO ones with the cat, so that's another four or five. But today's priority is working on two sets of cards for a golfing friend of my SIL's. So we'll see what works out...
Interesting about the birds changing when you change foods. We generally always put out Nyger seed for the finches and get loads of goldfinches, not as many house finches. Maybe we should change up what we out in the finches feeders and see what happens...We also put out black oil sunflower seed, raisins for the bluebirds, shell-on peanuts for the bluejays and lots of various suets.
We got about 3" of snow last night and it's very cold - a large variety of birds are flocking our feeders. I love watching them!
I only have a couple stamps with bird feeders and they are quite similar to each other; maybe I'll go with color for inspiration.
Angie, that is so interesting about getting different birds when you change the food. I just switched because the store was out of my usual variety and I'm not getting nearly as many birds, but a lot more juncos than I was getting before.
Love the birdhouse site but might not have time today as I have a friend arriving from back east to visit for a few days. He's here to teach a workshop starting Monday so hopefully then I'll have time.

The Featured Stamper challenge is up! The title is, One Look & You'll Swoon.. and it's true! Marge creates the most beautiful cards!!!
Just glancing and Marge's gallery I see where she creates multiples often. They may not be exactly the same but you can tell she has created them at the same time. Do you create multiples?
I would like to start but I do have a hard time with the idea of creating more than one card at a time. I seem to always be in a hurry. I did create multiples a few times last year.
Marge's gallery is gorgeous. I may have to make multiples for this challenge! I do try to make multiples. It seems the more cards I make the more I want to send to everyone and the more I need. So if I'm making a card that's not totally specific then I try to make two.
I'm not really a multiples person, maybe sometimes two, especially with sympathy cards. But this weekend I've been working on two sets of five cards, so though not identical, they're similar. They're for a golfing friend of my SIL's. The first time she contacted me, it was after she'd received one of my cards from Gráinne and she wanted two sets to give as gifts. She wanted two sets of the same card she'd received . Thankfully it was an easily reproducible one, but I think Gráinne explained to her that most of my cards were one-offs, because the next time she just asked for five of whatever I had. I uploaded my coral butterflies yesterday; finished a bird set last night and will take a photo later. I imagine that as she asked for two sets this time they're probably for gifts so I'm really here to check the card clutch tutorial!
So here is the question. How often do you create envelope art? What is your typical way of creating your envie art? Do you color images or leave them black and white? Do you just add sentiments?
I create envie art on occasion. I enjoyed the Picket Fence Studios sentiments so much that I added several fun sentiments to backs of envelopes. I have also added images to the envies but I don't usually color the images.
Very occasionally I stamp on my envelopes, but more often I just add a few stickers when I want to brighten them. It rains a lot here and there's not much joy in stamping and colouring something only to have it smudge before it even makes it into the postbox . I suppose I could use microglaze. Or pencils for colouring would be a way to go. I do enjoy receiving decorated envelopes.
Misti, that is a fun CAS challenge. I am sooooo cooooold today.
**
Sabrina, I have thought about the smudging thing. It would be terrible if the ink soaked through the envie onto the card! I am going to use a hybrid ink for my envie today. I am guessing that would work since I can watercolor with it.
I have a card for tomorrow I need to get going on so I think I will make an envie for it and enter the challenge. Hard to work on stuff when the kids are home!!! MLK day today.
The Teapot challenge is up. We have a sweet destination today. The wife of this recipient leaves the dearest comments on as many cards as she can. The Challenge is Sunny Thoughts. I received a Sunshine tea party last year so I know first hand that SCS has the most wonderful sun loving artists! I can't wait to see the gallery.
I did a little art on an envelope tonight to match the card I will post tomorrow. Susan, I agree. COLD was fun! There is a document from ( I believe ) my days when I was in the Dirt Pile, with words for every letter of the alphabet. I added several more C words from all the creativity of today's players!
Remember we always need destinations to keep the outward focus of this challenge ;-). You can nominate anyone - they don't need to have any connection to SCS other than that you know them or have heard of their situation! Send a pm to Jacqueline if you wish to suggest a destination.
