Well I finally did it I have left you all some love, I am so proud of myself LOL.
Speaking of home alterations, hubby and I were listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about how long it has taken some people to finish theirs. The radio announcer was shocked at 2 years. Hubby and I looked at each other and started laughing, try 7 years!!!!!! We did an extension 7 years ago and while the actual new part is finished inside we need to paint outside AND finish where the outside wall used to be which is now internal wall and needs gibstopping and painting in my daughters room and our lounge. I will get there one day ;)
High fives straight back at you Kelly - life is manic! We have just started actual Soccer season here now plus DD is playing hockey so yep CRAY CRAY.
It is freezing here today, I am going to have to light the fire, which will actually be quite nice as the fan rings the heat through to the craftroom/office.
I just want to publicly thank LYNN again for her generous donation of 85 gorgeous cards to my card collection effort to benefit Ronald McDonald Houses here in my area.
Today, I dropped off 229 cards at the Downtown LA (Hollywood) RMH and a lot of them were Lynn's. 3-4 weeks ago, I dropped off 300 cards at the Orange County RMH and a lot of them were Lynn's too.
Lynn, it brought a smile to my face when I was organizing your cards...so many classic Lynn cards that I recognize from your blog. Thank you so much for your generosity. You will have touched so many with your kindness.
Check out my blog post here to see Lynn's amazingness!
Lou, it's a good feeling to catch up on something, isn't it? I get behind and then it's a breath of relief when I'm caught up again. I loved reading about your remodeling project, too... a labor of love and a work in progress.
Ching, you do such a great work with RMH... and you "get by with a little help from your friends." (Wanna break into song???)
I woke up very early today. Hmmmmmmmmmmm... I wonder what I should do with this "extra" time in my day???
Thank you for your sweet words, Ching! I am so happy that my cards are in the hands of those who will put them to good use. I also love having my card rounder with lots of room for new designs that inspire me to create! I loved seeing the pictures from the Ronald McDonald House! Thank you for taking and posting them!
I am busy today getting cards ready for a shoebox swap with my stamping buddies down in Brazoria, Texas on Saturday. It is always fun getting back together with old friends!
Lou, my house is in great need of some updating, but I am discouraged by all the work it would entail! Cheers to you and your husband for taking on the challenge.
Jeanette, I am one who gets by on little sleep, as well. I sympathize with you on that front!
Hi all! I am finally getting caught up- I have a few more posts of ATC's that I made last month, but was finally able to stamp today- and made 3 cards- yippee! Felt so good!
I also had time to practice my piano lessons this week, so lessons today were not too bad either.....
Ching- how awesome that you were able to take that many cards to RMH- wow! I have to sort through ine and get some over to my RMH : )
Lynn and Jeanette- I have to have 7-8 hours each night, or I cannot function! I do not know how you do it!
Sue- have fun picking out the kitchen stuff : )
Oh Lou- I thing we are really slow with remodels as well. We finished remodeling 2 bathrooms upstairs months ago- still have not painted the ceiling in the kitchen where they had to open it up to work on the plumbing. It does not look too terrible the way it is..... We also are getting a new roof- it is time, but a big windstorm made us move forward when a huge section of shingles flew off the top of the house.......
I am working tomorrow, will head to Kankakee to stay with Brother and stay with Mom- SIL has a Dr appt Friday AM early : ) I think I will take Mom to church, then to the cemetery and see if Dad's headstone is out yet. We have a choral event- high class choral event the neighbor is in Fri night and then going to a Cubs game on Saturday- Wahoo- looking forward to it : )
Mornin'! Notice I missed the "good" part ...... missed my 'Bux, so I'm grumpy!! LOL! I am also rushing, so no time to look for my funny Friday flashy greeting!
Jeanette, what lovely chicken legs!! Some great dance moves, too!
I will be by to visit you all today - finally! I'm slowly catching up this week, as my 'life' slowed down a wee bit - and I got inky! It's tough losing my HUGE craft room (2nd biggest room in the house) to go to a tiny space and have to drag it all out, or to the table, which can't be on the table since we are a family of 6 and need it - LOL! Too much hassle
*waving to all as today is another on the GO kinda day!*
HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!!! Whewwww....it's been a crazy busy week and today looks busy too! Wanted to write a novel here but I'm running late so I'll check in later!
Sue, I'm chasing right behind you!! I'm sweating, stopping for a refreshing drink and I"m off running again! Today was bonkers - planned to drop off kids, come home to walk the dogs, clean, iron, pay bills and get inky (just for starters) BUT .... my dd21 has some testing coming up this week and our insurance required all this dr's signed paperwork - great, except Dr #1 is out of town and I had to chase down the associate and Dr. #2 is across town! Got what I needed, just in time to pick the kids up from school, so a basic loss of my inky time :(
Did get the floors swept and mopped and finished all the ironing and I'm tossing chicken and pasta into pots to make a quick and simple dinner. I offered cereal, but got zero takers - LOL! No cereal for supper, what's up with that!!
I'll try again tomorrow- my stamps and markers are a' callin!
:mad::mad:I too am having a love /hate relationship today but mine is with my printer!!! Dumb thing shows I have ink but when I print it's grey and skippy! So Jeanette looks like we are having similar days! Wow Kelly that's alot of chasing! Hope today is quieter for you.
Ching I'm so impressed with your commitment to RMH!
Well I made it to all the blogs yesterday and what alot of great looking cards. I've been so busy with nursing home things and my granddaughters 1st Communion that I haven't had any real "Me" cardmaking! Maybe later this week.
Speaking of Communions....I was goofy enough to give in to her request of wanting Pearls sewed onto her veil. Her dress has pearls on it and I bought her a pearl necklace with a cross on it and I also handed down my mothers Rosary which had whitish pearl type beads. Not really sure what they were maybe glass???? Anyway she wanted pearls on her veil too...silly me said sure I can do that! OMG!!!!!! Has anyone tried sewing tiny pearls with invisible thread on Tulle??? My sight isn't what it use to be I guess because it was a "pill" to do. But.......I got it done and she is thrilled and I guess that's all that matters! I never had a little girl and all this frilliness is new to me. I'll have to admit it's kinda fun but Boys are wayyyy easier!!:lol: So now we are ready for Sundays big event. Dress, Veil, Tierra, pearl necklace cross, rosary, shoes....Please God tell us we are done! heeheehee
:oops: Oops for got to mention that my Daughter-in-law is also making her daughters 1st Communion cake and I spent Saturday night showing her how to make Royal icing flowers to put on the cake and she incorporated some into a cross to add to the cake too. So YEP!!! Been busy! Well enjoy your day...hope my colorful post doesn't drive you crazy! Just felt like playing!
Sue, your granddaughter is going to be lovely in all those pearls... and for such a special occasion. hmmmmmm... guess you've been so busy with pearls that you've not had time for SU retirements. ;)
It was so nice yesterday... I spent the entire day working in the garage. Got quite a bit accomplished, but still LOTS to do!
I'm leaving as soon as the morning commute is over... going to the small city about an hour from us. Getting a haircut, going to card class, doing a bit of shopping.
Oooooo....Jeanette a card class???? Please share what you did later. I have not been to a card class in ages! I use to love going to the ones Archivers held but since their close years ago I haven't found any. The big chain stores by me (Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc) don't have them due to lack of instructors. Have a Great time!!! So Jealous!!
I think I'm finally able to play in my craft room this afternoon. I think I may have to clean it first!
Its sunny and so beautiful outside today but later it's suppose to rain. Much needed I'll admit...
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:
I have a day off and ran all day until dinner. I tried to get on SCS on my phone- forget it- I have to sign in every time I go to Yahoo, google or SCS......so multiple screens and letters, numbers, and all of that- heck with it!
The computer is so much easier!
I have not seen the SCS retirement list either....I have too much stuff that I have never inked up to buy any more..... although, I did buy the SU SAB bird stamp used from someone- thought it was so cute.....
Oh Sue, that is a stitch about sewing on the little pearls..... I sew and smock, so made both of my daughters First Communion dresses and veils. I did not, however, sew any pearls on the veils...... Bet that looks gorgeous!
My hubby has a big huge project for work, so he is in NJ for the week- home tomorrow night. He is exhausted too- working tons of hours for the last 6 weeks or so. It is quiet here- and I did not have to cook him a big meal : ) He works so hard, I try to keep good meals on the table- not on the days I work most of the time. I cook extras alot and can put food in the freezer for another day.
My youngest just made her grad school decision- she will be heading to George Mason University in Virginia next Fall- working on a Masters and doctorate in Environmental sciences- with a focus on Policy. She will move in August.
We also have Chris getting married in October- will be an exciting year!
Sue, this card class is at a SU demo's home studio. She has class every Wednesday, but since she lives an hour from me, I don't go every week. I try to go every month, but that doesn't even always happen. The gals are such fun! Yesterday we made two punch art cards.
Shelly, it's good to see you! hmmmmmmmm.... an SCS Retirement list??? I hope they don't force me into retirement and make me leave. I love it here! ;)
BTW, I did see the SU retirement list yesterday... it seems to me to be a bit bigger than previous years, but maybe not. The demo has seen the new catalog and says it is a good one. We'll see. She is in the business of making sales, you know. Oh, and she says cardstock is going up $1 in the new catalog. UGH! I might need to replenish a few colors before then.
Today it supposed to be another rainy day, so I guess I'll be working at the inside organizing/sorting/purging rather than the task in the garage - since I don't leave my Private Jet out in the rain unless I have to. ;)
Oh, and yes, I was up WAY TOO EARLY this morning. I've been awake since 3:15... finally got out of bed a little past 4:00.
Shelly what an eventful year you will be having! I remembered when my son got married..everytime he looked at me I was crying!! LOL All he could say everytime he saw me was Mommmmmm stop. heehee Anyway its been over 10 years now...I think I'm over it
Jeanette...cute cards. I just had to tilt my head
Raining here too. I have to clean up my craft room since a friend is coming tomorrow with all her cool stuff she bought at the Expo in Milwaukee this past weekend. I couldn't go:
Ugh! I finally feel like I'm getting my head screwed on straight again! The last 2 weeks have been crazy busy I went out of town to Wisconsin Dells for a weekend for my uncle's 60th birthday party. Then as soon as I came back on Sunday it was time to get ready for my friend who would be coming over on Thursday and then spending the weekend! Then we spent the weekend at Scrapbook Expo and had a lot of fun! But we were exhausted! Then Monday was spent somewhat recovering from the weekend and getting ready for my interview on Tuesday. Then I went to the interview one Tuesday and received an E-mail yesterday saying I didn't make it on to round two.... So it's back to the endless world of more applications... The other job I applied for I never heard back from... Even after contacting them.... *sigh* I'm hoping to get some inky time today to play with my new toys from the weekend and hopefully help cheer myself up a bit. Now it's off to visit everyone's blogs!
Sue!!! That's where I was last weekend! With so many of us in the Southern WI, Northern IL area maybe someday we'll all run into each other at the Milwaukee/Schaumburg Expo!
Sorry you didn't get good news Sami. One the brightside you probably have a lot of cool stuff from Expo! Wish I could have gone. As Dori would say.......
Hi ya'll! Made my blog rounds - woohoo! SuPeR creative, you are (yep, that's my word of today, LOL!)
Sami, aw shucks - I'm sorry. I hope that the 'back to the drawing board' just means the perfect job is out there waiting!
Shel, wow! So many life changes! I cannot - simply. can. not. - imagine the day my children get married. I'll a blubbering mess. I cry at Pampers commercials! Congrats to your daughter on her grad school decision!
Susan, I like your avatar! And we LOVE Nemo - all of Disney, in fact. That's one of the cutest rides at Epcot ♥
Hi Jeanette, and all ..... waving as I pretend I'm really cleaning my house - LOL!
Today is catch up day ....... housework, cards, blogging
Thanks for all the support! It really does mean a lot! I'm already starting to feel a lot better and more positive. The Finding Nemo picture definitely made me smile this morning and then I had to go listen to the song from Finding Nemo the Musical.
Happy Earth Day! I love today! It is such a wonderful time to reflect on planet earth and all the beauty He has gifted to us ♥
Yesterday I went with my daughter21(where she teaches) to her ladybug release - it was darling seeing the 'tinies' (pre-k!) get excited about the ladybugs flying about! Tomorrow my other daughter17 has a global youth project down at the beach, a huge community service project with 500 students! It lasts all day but what a wonderful honor to assist with ocean conservation and animal habitats, etc. There is also an invite to a friend's BBQ on Saturday night but someone is playing hookie for that because my boys will be off camping and I have 1,000 things to catch up on!
Sue, no I don't take naps - they would just mess with my sleeping, I fear. ;) Oh, and yes... I was awake at 3:45 this morning and finally gave up and got up at 4:15. The joy of sleeplessness. LOL!
Kelly, how fun! I'm sure that was a sight to behold with the ladybug release and all those children. What is the beach project? I'm sure it will be fabulous - and all those youth. WOW!
Lynn, that's so funny about your sleep time and mine. Funny thing is, I'm by nature a night owl. I love staying up until 2:00... but since I don't seem to sleep much past 4-5:00 AM, I try to go to bed by 11:00. Sometimes I stay up until midnight, though. I'm a rebel, what can I say???
Jeanette, it makes me tired just to think about getting up that early...... I also seem to stay up late alot...... Glad you are getting time to sort and organize : )
Lynn, do you stay up late often?
Kelly- with Stephi's Environmental Science interests, she would love the ladybug release and Beach Day! Hope you enjoy your time at home with the boys gone- and hope you caught up AND had some creative time!
Sami- sorry about your interview- I heard that one job posted here had hundreds of applications..... I am sure the right job will fall into your lap! I think it would be a blast to meet up at the Expo, what did you get??? I stayed home- I have way too much stuff! And, no will power.......
Sue- I sure hope I do not cry through the ceremony..... So, are you a sports person? Do you watch the Blackhawks? (Yippee -awesome win tonight), Baseball (Cubs or Sox).......
