Default Non-Demos -- How Does Your Collection Grow?

I was sitting here today contemplating how much I've spent on stamps, cardstock, various tools, eyelets, brads, ribbon, fibers, adhesives, inks, cleaners, and other random stamping supplies I *had* to have. Then I started wondering how other non-demos support their stamping addiction. Our Splitcoast sisters joined stamping companies and actually work to support their habits. How do you do it? I am lucky enough to have a husband whose hobby (photography) is more expensive than mine, so he looks the other way when the SU boxes arrive at my house. What's your story?

I voted that I sneak supplies here and there, but that's not totally true. I belong to a stamp club - we meet every other month and buy at least $30 of merchandise and take turns being the hostess. I stick to ordering at that time, pretty much, although, I usually go over $30. I DO "sneak" lots of accessories purchases at Michael's -- $10 here, $10 there. I would say though, that my hubby is very understanding and lets me spend pretty much whatever I ask. So, maybe I should have voted the other way.

All right, here's the deal. I started my own rubber stamp company to make the kinds of designs I wanted to show off the local culture of Guam. And as I also have a business license, I can buy stuff wholesale. Oooh, maybe that's why I don't really make a profit... everything just gets poured back into the business. But, I'm having fun anyway!!

I am a bargain hunter.

When it was my month in the hostess club I was able to get a ton of stuff free because in addition to the club member orders I had a real SU! party too. It was even better because my party was in the month of March so I had a lot of people order the half price sets. The party orders, club orders and my order came to over $650.

I always go the extra mile to make sure I get the best deal possible.

A proud bargain hunter,
Rebecca

I chose the last option! LOL. I actually have a very understanding husband. As long as I am reasonable, he doesn't mind!

I have a very generous husband. As long as he gets his weekly money for his "boat fund" and we meet our monthly budget goals I am ok to shop.

I'm a SAHM and my dh doesn't care what I spend on my stamps & supplies as long as the bills are paid. He goes along to the stamp stores with me and sees what i'm buying and adds to it if he sees a stamp or something I like but I just don't wanna pay that price. He also sees what I put into my Stampin Up orders. He doesn't care as long as I am happy!!! And i'm "HAPPY"!!!!!!

I worked for fourteen years after the kids were old enough and that's my money to play with. Also I do some sewing of wedding items and I only use the earnings for stamping. Just had a garage sale which is play money also. And I'm not opposed to shopping for some items at discount stores to stretch the supplies. Just don't take away my SU ink or stamp set.

I can't vote in the poll unless I get to vote All of the Above except second mortgage, second job. Oh wait! I do sell bird seed from my home...

My mother did leave me some money. I have a loverly dh who would give me the moon as long as dinner is on the table shortly after he gets home.

I do occasionally sneak...

I do bargain hunt and I do make some of my own supplies, like styrofoam stamps cut from meat trays and the MagicFoam stuff. Have used plastic lace remnants to stamp and stencil.

I am no more addicted to stamping than I am to making altered books, tole painting, jigsaw puzzles, reading true crime or indulging in chocolate.

Hah!

Someone pass the Doves before I start suffering withdrawal...

Ditto. I've worked for 40 years off and on, so my DH says I deserve to have what I want. I just don't get carried away. Our stamp club is a $15 one but I have 2 months. Guess which to I ended up with? January and July! got to love those specials! LOL

I don't buy as much as I'd like to, but DH really wouldn't care. He has his "addictions" too - like golf and his motorcycle. I also sell Longaberger right now and my profit doesn't go to baskets - it goes to stamp supplies. I would feel guilty about my purchases with SU! if I didn't use all of the stuff I have. DH loves that we don't have to go out and buy cards anymore too!

Thankfully my hubby is understanding of my need to be creative and fully supports my spending within limits. I don't work outside the home and would love to find a way to make some spending money, so I don't have to go "Oh Honey, there's this set I gotta have", everytime I go look in the gallery. I'd love to go the way of the demo, but that is not in the cards for me for a long time.
