How's it going? I got two done. I'm hoping for another one tonight, but we'll see how long it takes everyone to go to sleep. Of course, it's only 7:45 and feels like 11:30 so I don't know how that is going to change things. Hope you're happy with your progress!
I got a few more done! Down to 10.5. I tried the stair step card but I'm not liking how it looks so I'm going to redo it. My trimmer needs new blades so it cut kinda wonky. I'm going to cheat and cut it with my Cameo which should be WAY easier.
I'm dead tired, so no more for me tonight. I woke up at 5am and am worn out. Back to it in the morning. If I wake up early again, I should have time to do a few before the rest of the house stirs.
If 35 is the number then I'm finished...and all are uploaded into my gallery.
Tomorrow I'll work on the queen's thread.
I really enjoyed the last challenge...my thought was to do Winnie the Pooh just because I really like those shows from way back but I don't know that I have ever read a Winnie the Pooh book, or even seen one...so...
I went with a Little Golden Book that I often read to my children...wished I had the brick embossing folder but I didn't...so...I used what I had and put in my mental file...
Buy brick embossing folder! ;)

my mental buy someday list has grown by leaps and bounds this last month peeking in the gallery... ( but, then it always does) that is part of the fun for me I guess... esp. when I spy someone using something I already have in a way I have never thought of.
All of my cards are now uploaded! Yeah! They are ready to mail BUT I'm having a hard time letting go of a few so I may have to make duplicates for myself!
I had to laugh while doing the challenges. I think several of them are using techniques that require glossy cardstock. A few months ago I looked at my two packs, thought Hmm...I never use this stuff, and sold it. Oops!

Lol! Vellum and glossy cardstock are like the dress you only wear to formal weddings. You don't need it often, but it pays to hang on to it. ;)

I'm headed off to the post office with 40 cards headed to MDAnderson. This is my 5th year to take part in this event. I have loved this project since Lydia started it in 2010.
Every year I have completed all the challenges and thanks to all the hostesses who has kept us inspired and motivated with their awesome challenges over these years.
Lydia, a special thank you for you and others on staff who gather the prizes, organizing the entire event, and making it so fun.

I used regular clear envelopes and they have a flap to fold over. You could do that with the baggies too, I would think.
I hope the queens thread goes up soon. I know there are a few ladies waiting to post because of some upcoming appointments. I am not a queen this year, but I am glad I could do the few I did. I had a friend pass from stomach cancer and one aunt who had colon cancer and another who had bone cancer.
OK someone help me! I got all my cards finished last night, got them all linked up and I have all my links put over into a word document so I can just copy that to the Queens thread. But when I hover the mouse over the link it brings up that You have to hit control and click in order to open the link. They all work that way, but how do I make them so you can just click on the link?

Yippeee! I'm all done - all 35 of them. That was so much fun too! Thank you so much Lydia and others for putting this all together and coming up with such wonderful and challenging techniques. It really took me out of my comfort zone and I learned so much. Now all I have to do is upload all my links into the Queens Thread and send my cards off to MD Anderson. Again, thank you so much Ladies, this has been such a blessing to me.

I think if you copy and paste them that Ctrl thing won't be there. Try a practice post. You can click to preview the post first. If they don't look right just exit out of the post without submitting.
Just got back from the PO mailing my box...added about 25 extra from my stash...feels good! Thanks to all the hostesses and Lydia, the hostess with the mostest ;)
Thanks so much Kathy! I did the preview and all the links look good so I got them posted.
Thanks to all the Challenge Hostesses! This was the fastest October has ever gone by! But I was able to keep up with all the challenges until we went out of town for 10 days. But a few days after we got back I had two days of time I could just stamp most of the day. So I got all the challenges caught up and was able to even get them linked up during that time. I am going to miss these challenges. But I have been neglecting the weekly challenges terribly while I've been trying to catch up. So I will go back to those and give them some love!
Today I will spend the rest of the day getting the cards all ready to mail. I will take them with me to Houston tomorrow and mail them from there so they don't go to Dallas first. I found out our mail goes to Dallas first and then wherever it's addressed to. Guess I will see if there is a shopping list for VSN mini so I can shop while I'm in Houston. I have to go down for the day.

This is what I get when I am trying to post on the Queen's Thread...now what do I do?:(
If you're copying and pasting from Microsoft word, you're pasting invisible characters. Take your list, paste it into your Notepad program on your computer - that strips all the formatting. Then copy from there and paste into your post

I sent myself an email from Microsoft Word...guess I'll have to wait for my hubby to get home from work to fix my problem...I have no clue what a notepad program is! Thankfully I'm not waiting until Thursday morning to attempt this post.
BUT...I do know how to float around SCS successfully AND I know how to post to the gallery now all by myself!

Posted my cards in the Queens Thread. About halfway through creating the list, my cordless mouse died. I was freakin' out thinking my system locked up! Thank goodness the hubby figured it out before I tried rebooting.
Took a couple of pictures of all my cards before I package them up.
The ones at the very back are alreeady packaged. They are a little over 20 extra ones I had decided to send along.

On the Queen's listing I tried twice and both times I got a screen that told me it was "invalid" so I contacted Lydia but have not heard back yet. Now I go back and see that both tries somehow went through that failed earlier and the rules specifically say multiple listing will be deleted meaning me?????

Post#13 wasn't complete list so shell probably delete that one
Whew! I think posting to the Queens thread was more of a challenge than any of the cards were! I did get it accomplished, though. Now I need to package my cards up and send them on. I saw a few others mentioned adding some cards from their stash - sounds like a good idea and my stash is already stored in Ziploc bags so I'll take a look and see what I can send.
This is the first time I've ever participated in anything like this. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I learned a lot and got pushed out of my comfort zone a couple of times, so there was a good stretch for me! (Note for next year: send cards in smaller batches throughout the month...)
I want to send a special thanks to the hostesses and moderators - I can only imagine how crazy the month must have been for all of you. I don't know if you had any frazzling days, but from this side of the screen you all did an awesome job - and for a great cause. Thanks for all your hard work!
