It took me two days, but I finally read all 22 pages of comments. My son has an Amazon Prime account and owes me money, so does anyone know the number for these same magnets (or a link) and for the Quilters Templates? I know I could scan all these pages again, but I really need to do some work around the house that I've neglected while reading these posts and watching the videos. Thanks for enabling??????
I ordered mine yesterday and my order number is 5055! I don't see how to log in on the website to see if my order has shipped. Anyone? thanks
smurgles
First you will get an Order Completion email. Then you will get another email when it's ready to go to the PO which will have a tracking#. At least that's what has been happening.
She is in the process of contracting with a fulfillment center to do her shipping but assume you will still receive an email that it has shipped with the tracking#.
Don't think she ever had a way to track on her website.
Okay so, I have taken mine out of the box, and I ordered magnet, pad of paper and the cleaner. I I have watched exactly one video (and seen a couple of cool things Lydia posted) but, what I am curious about is... I seem to have one magnet ( which I lost straight away found it again on stuck to the bottom.) the video I seen was to stick on the cling sheet and that video the gal had 4 magnets.
( do I need more? I didn't pay any attention when I ordered it that it was only going to have 1 in the package)

It's personal preference. I have 4 but the most I've used at any one time is 3, usually use only one or two. Some don't use any. You can use any temp tape also like micropore and some use Washi tape. HTH
My misti cracked! When I removed an acrylic stamp!
I have had My misti less than 6 months. Today I peeled an odd girl stamp off and the acrylic grid on top cracked right in half😰😰😰. I don't even use it every day. It cost over 60 dollars and sweet petunia will not replace it. I really did not expect it to break right away like this! I hope others do not have this happen. But if this is a common flaw she needs to issue replacements!,
VERY disappointed about her response. And VERY shocked it just cracked!
Getting back to our beloved MISTI, I didn't see anything about the MISTI on the link you gave, but enjoyed the link anyway! I could go on and on about our label maker!😄😄😄
You didn't scroll all the way the down! I have a video and a card
WooHoo I have been busy unmounting my wood mounted stamps today. I have it down to a fine art. Place stamp in microwave for 10 seconds, while still warm peel the red rubber away from the grey foam...the red rubber is smooth and has no sticky stuff on it at all. I have put the wood blocks away with the grey foam still intact incase I ever change my mind.
Here is the best bit...I rub a glue stick on the back of the rubber as a temporary adhesive, I restamped an image 6 times and it was still well bonded to the MISTI lid.
As soon as I finish stamping, I use an alcohol free baby wipe on the lid, then on the stamp. No more Ezimount!! I used a Bostik BluStick, I think the Elmers school glue stick would be the same.

 Oh no! : How could that happen? Did you bend the lid when you peeled the stamp off? And what did Iliana say, that it was your fault?

I'm so afraid you're going to open this Pandora's box for me! I'm covering my eyes. For now.
well... because you used your rubber two step blooms on it is why I caved. and bought one.
I am thinking the two step rubber floral sets are coming off the blocks soon but, i was not thinking about saving the wood at all. and I have never unmounted a wood block ever...
so, right this minute I am still thinking about that.

I missed the conversation about hairline fractures. Are the fractures in just the newer versions? I was going to buy one for a friend but if there is a problem I may rethink. I bought mine in August and no problems yet.

The lid is 1/8" thick acrylic that has some flex to it (not brittle). If you're not manhandling it and it's not a freak accident, I can't imagine having a problem. I hope for the person with the broken lid and Iliana's sake, whatever the problem was gets resolved fairly and quickly, but for the rest of us, unless you're using a hammer to stamp or remove your stamps, I can't imagine how you would wind up with a damaged lid. (All of this is based on the MISTI I'm playing with in my own little stamp corner, so take it for what it's worth).

Whoo! Hoo! Finally ordered my Misti with 4 magnets and 2 grid pads. I can get the Novus cleaner from Amazon (with free shipping), if I need it.
I can't wait to start creating stamp indexes and so much more!
For anyone whose budget is tight, consider selling stuff on e-bay. I was able to sell all this stuff to pad my PayPal account: lovely gifts that I didn't have any use for, a duplicate ink pad that I didn't need, a single egg coddler ($18!!!!), a decorative tin that was part of a cocoa set, used earrings with posts that are too thick, even a fountain pen with pitting on the nib and a scratch on the barrel (I am completely honest about defects in the description and photos, and people are still interested!).
Now if only I could resist all the Memory Box and Sizzix dies on e-Bay : )
Thanks again to everyone who weighed in on the magnet question!
I wondered if acrylic becomes brittle over time so I did a search and yes it does. Apparently UV light or being near a window breaks down the chemicals in acrylic and causes it to become brittle and break
Here is an article comparing the pros and cons of glass vs acrylic aquariums
If the acrylic used for a MISTI was old or stored near light or a window it would hasten the break down of chemicals in the acrylic and increase the chance of it breaking .
We have no way to know if the acrylic used was old , but based on this article it would be best to store the MISTI in a drawer when not in use rather than leave it out on a work table that is exposed to light .

So, I got my MISTI but hadn't ordered cleaner or magnets. We were doing an Amazon order for a movie and I needed to up the order to get free shipping, so I added cleaner and magnets to that order, along with a couple of other small items.
I finally got the box yesterday. The magnets had come out of their little tube and were floating around loose and I guess my mailman noticed that the box was sticking to the parcel box...you know, those metal boxes that they put with the mailboxes for packages.
He stuck my package to the TOP of the box! My husband was totally baffled when he got the mail and it was just hanging there!
I opened my misti...flat on my desk and peeled my clear acrylic stamp off it and the acrylic snapped. The stamp was an inch wide and maybe 2 and 1/2 inches tall. I had no time to react, I just peeled it off like I have a million times on acrylic blocks like fiskars which are similar thickness. I ordered it end of September. I have used it maybe a couple of times a week at the most. Iliana told me since I had it since October she couldn't t do anything for me. It is one of the etched ones and I would guess the etching could weaken it, plus I kept it on my stamping desk. It is in my den which has two windows. It is not right in the window...the desk is to the side of the window, on the wall adjacent to it. But it probably got indirect sunlight. I'm upset with the lack of response. As many as she is selling she could take care of her existing customers. And it isn't a cheap thing to buy. I DID not use a hammer. It simply cracked in normal use!

Seeing that is a brand new account and your second post, are you the same person as Cards by Cara who posted earlier today with almost the same issue?

Patty Ann, others, fwiw ... I think it's to be expected that there will be a freak defective product or two or three in the bunch and it makes sense that Kat is surprised and upset. It also makes sense to me that Iliana, who I'm guessing is not a business person, just a stamper with a great idea she decided to share with the world (and I'm so glad she's decided to put a patent on her idea) is as surprised as Kat is. I don't think we need to disparage either of them and from the feedback of so many very happy stampers, chalk it up to a freak and unfortunate event. just my two cents.

Honestly I was just trying to figure out if this was one person's problem told twice or two different MISTI's that cracked....like the feather cracks discovered in a batch last week. I hate to see a person stuck with a bad or broken product, or maligned by a customer. I agree that a couple bad products are realistic. Either way, I'm loving my MISTI, and I'm glad I haven't suffered either malady.

Cards by Cara's quote was broken - she was quoting Kat123, not posting that it was her issue.
Yes, I was just quoting Kat123's post as she was the one who had the issue. Thanks for fixing my broken quote - I was on my phone and didn't realize with the small screen!
I have had my MISTI since the fall (original screen etched version) and despite using it regularly, haven't had any issues. I do keep it out of sunlight, just like my stamps, card stock and other supplies.

And so now that I've led you all astray with my question, let's all return to the topic at hand.....

So sorry to hear that. Removing a stamp shouldn't cause something like that and it's disappointing that she wouldn't help you. We invest a lot in our craft and it's not unreasonable to expect our tools to last more than 6 months. Maybe like someone else mentioned the etching process weakens the acrylic? Or perhaps the acrylic was defective somehow? I hope no one else has this happen to them and I am so sorry it did to you. Since there is no warranty and no support for the MISTI I don't know if I will buy one as planned. I think I'll wait some to see if this becomes a common issue or just a freak thing.

Once you go unmounted, you'll never go back!!! The only wood mounts I have are my Christmas stamps and they will be unmounted SOON!!! If you use wood, you can't use MISTI and MISTI will get lonely and feel abandoned. We can't have that, now can we?????

Well what if you just came over and unmounted them all when I wasn't looking? You'll need to ask for about 6 months off from work
