Hi ladies! Looks like everyone is having some wild weather! Hopefully everyone is safe. My good friend called to tell me her parents lost their home in Hermine :( She said a tree toppled right through the middle and the house is a total loss. She's there now trying to salvage anything they can and move them. Be safe - everyone!

We are gearing up for party central! Little man turns 12 on Friday - can't hard believe it. We have 16 boys sleeping over after school Friday and going on through Saturday. And to think I actually thought at one point this was a GOOD idea? ROFL!!

Sending hugs to all

So sorry to hear about your friend's parents' house. I'm so glad though that they did not get injured.all You can replace most things, but not people.

Finally got the U-Verse fixed. Seems that the guy that came here on Saturday totally forgot to reconnect the other 2 Receivers. The guy today replaced the box in my craft room with a wireless one. He also put a new surge protector in my bedroom. I need to get another one for my craft room. I have one in there that takes care of lamps, boom box, heat tool, computer, but the TV and Receiver are plugged into a wall outlet.

We're getting a lot of thunder, but so far no rain. I've been outside repotting all the small 4" plants that I bought (4 flats with 20 in each flat). Found a bunch more out in the garden and on the pots outside of the hutch. Inside now taking a break until it decides if it's going to storm or not. I think mostly they are going around us.

Also trying to decide if I want to order anything from the SU Holiday Mini.

Hi girls - it's been a while but I have kept up - great to see Lynne and Darlene popping in here.

The quakes are still rolling through but starting to diminish in size and frequency - a big one in the wee smalls this morning that was felt from Auckland to Wellington, but I slept through - as usual. I have not felt any of the bigger ones.

Good to see you survived the weather Kelly - I was thinking of you.

Maggie when does your 'season' for monarchs finish - you will be glad of the break!! You are one busy Mama.

Jeanette you sure do a lot of travelling - hugs for supporting your friend.

Barb I hope you are enjoying your trip too.

i am still having major issues with my sinuses and it looks as though it;s back to the doctor for more meds - I have four months to wait before i can get into the specialist. DH has had to have a second excision of the lesion on his arm as the doctor thought the margins were too small.... oh the joys of getting older!! :-) At least it is spring and today has been warm and sunny.

Hugs to you all from down under

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Maggie, it sounds like you've been getting a lot of issues worked on - technical stuff - and it's slowly getting better. I hope so! Yes, I only did juice... the tomatoes are not nice enough ones to make whole tomatoes out of, but truthfully we use a lot more juice than whole tomatoes in our family. I do freeze a lot of tomatoes that we use is soups throughout the winter months.

Kelly, I am so sorry to hear of your friend's parents' home situation. Were they okay? I assume so since you didn't mention injuries. Scary stuff!!! Yes, you will be busy with all those boys - but I'm sure you will handle it all well..... and enjoy the party right alongside little man.

Maxine, I'm sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. I hope you're all better soon.... and that your area will stop rocking and rolling soon, too.

Waving to everyone else.

Waving hello.Maxine: sinus trouble is so awful, I sure hope that you get relief soon. Glad to hear that you've been safe in the quakes!

Kelly: I've been worried about all of you with Hermine last weekend. How awful about your friend's parents! Thankfully they were not injured.

Went to the wedding of a friend's daughter, our kids grew up together hiking, camping, etc. It was beautiful. Sure did stir up a lot of emotions for me though. Spent most of Monday grieving, but feeling better today. That's life now.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I managed to get my reading assignment finished yesterday - we were assigned/given a book to read before our state women's leadership retreat this weekend... and I still had a lot to read, so buckled down and did it yesterday. I also managed to make one card.

Today I'll be elbow deep in tomatoes..... canning more juice.

What's everybody else up to?

Hi girls! Just stopping in as I'm getting ready to head out for pick ups. I am really looking forward to summer - ROFL! It wouldn't be so bad, I guess, if the traffic wasn't so awful. In the mornings, it's like an LA freeway in all directions! The school is 15 minutes away yet takes an hour to get there! And then there's another school after that ................... repeat every afternoon at pick up time. It gets OLLLLLLLLLLDDDDD!

Sounds like everyone is doing okay and just being active/busy!

Darlene, I can imagine that was a bittersweet moment for you and I'm glad you were able to share their special day with them. It takes a long long (lifetime) to heal. We love you ♥

Maxine, I hope you get better! Is it seasonal - like allergies? 4 months will be a bit of a wait!

I love your canning, J! There is nothing sweeter than fresh fruits and veggies right out of the mason jar ;) My daughter pickled jalepenos from her garden and they were a huge hit! (not with me. I don't do spicey!) She also did cucumbers for me and made me some dill pickles And something else ...... oh, roasted red/yellow peppers.

Gotta dash so I'll wave to all!

Oh Kelly... those peppers (roasted red/yellow) sound divine! I wish we had some and I'd get your DD's recipe.

I freeze mild banana pepper rings and use them in cooking throughout the winter. Delicious.

Today's total - 2 batches of juice (26 quart)..... and I'm worn out.

Please, not summer again already - I need a break from canning first. ;)

Hi Girls - great to see you all here - we currently have winter trying to take over again today - snow down the road at Taupo, and bitterly cold southerly here!! So I spent the afternoon in the studio (second day in the row) and got a couple of cards finished.

The sinus is an infection following a cold, introduced by my darling grandson in June when they were still living with us!! I am sort of kind of over it, never mind the wait for the specialist!! (My neighbour got a a four month waiting list notice, and waited eight months - praying that my letter is true!!) At least the appointment is local, not at Waikato. We are headed up there again tomorrow for DH's scan results.... life is never dull.

Waves and hugs to you all from down under

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Maxine, that is way too long to be sick...... and what's with the long-off scheduling for doctors. Yikes! I would think a person would be well (or dead) after waiting that long.

Maxine, I hope you are feeling better by now. Sinus issues are not fun at all. I used to get a lot of them until I had sinus surgery and that really helped. Sorry that you have to wait so long before you can see the specialist. Good luck for your DH in getting that lesion all the way gone.

Monarch season is supposed to be done by October IF I cut my plants back. If I don't, then some will continue to hang around through the Winter. I'm torn because I want to keep taking care of them and having new butterflies, but I really think I need to cut my plants back so they can fly away down to Mexico and I can clean out my garden and the hutch before we start all over again in the Spring. If I cut my plants back, then they will have time to regrow over the Winter for the Spring season. I hope!

I had 4 butterflies last night, but they didn't want to leave so I left them in the hutch and when I came home from work I had 7 more so 11 in all. 8 of them decided to fly off and see what the future held for them. 3 still remain. I'll get them out in the morning.

So weird. My post to Maxine posted before I was ready to post it and then I went in to edit it, but what I added didin't show up.

It has been a bear! I think that the TV is finally working. I haven't had a dropped signal since Monday, so it looks good.

Of course, I'm still having some issues with my computer. I would love to get that fixed.

I'm sure your friends appreciated your attendance at the wedding knowing that it would be an emotional time for you. Yes, things will come up and happen that will take you back, but try to focus on the beautiful memories and love that Amanda left behind. She's still alive, just in a different place and you'll all be together again one day.

I almost was involved in a wreck on my way home today. I was turning onto my street from the main street. I have a left turn lane there which is where I was, so I started my turn and was almost into the lane when a big lawn truck and trailer also made the turn, but he was turning from the regular left lane which was to the right of where I was. GAds! He didn't even stop when I leaned on my horn. He just glared at me and kept driving pushing me into the left lane of my street with another SUV coming right at me!!!!!! I didn't have a choice, but to let him go in front of me. And then he wasn't even going anywhere on my street. When he got to the intersection before my house, he turned right! I felt like going after him, but you know, he wouldnt have understood anything I said since he wasn't of the same ethric persuasion as I am.

Hi Stamp Addicts! I may have figured out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. You know that I'm really into Family History/Genealogy big time. I teach people at church how to search for their ancestors every Sunday and twice a month I'm at the Family History Center at church helping people from church and from the neighborhood the same thing. So, I thought what a great job that would be. Most of it too I can do online. There is a program where I can get an Associate's Degree in Family History Research. Only thing is I don't have a college degree, nope, never got finished. But there is a program through my church called "Pathway" where I can take certain courses to make up for not having a degree and then go on to the Major courses. The Pathway program takes about a year and then the Associates' will take 2 years, so in 3 years I could be done. That would be just in time for my retirement! Then I could maybe get paid for helping people search out their ancestors. The only thing I'm concerned about is that I have to go to a meeting once a week - every Thursday for the Pathway program. And it's kind of far - about 45 minute drive to and then back. The gathering is 2 hours. But I am seriously considering it. I also don't want it to interfere with my stamping either.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Maggie, you've been doing a beautiful job talking to yourself. ;) I am so glad you weren't in a serious accident - sounds horrible! Yay for figuring out a great fit for a job you'd enjoy after retirement. I hope it works out as you'd like! You are such a good caretaker of the butterflies!!!

FYI - I am leaving in a couple of hours (I still need to pack and tend to some things here at home before I can go) for two back-to-back out-of-town trips. So let me wish you a FANTASTIC WEEKEND now. I'll see you again on Wednesday!

Good Morning! This is our last full day at Moosehead Lake in Maine. It is just beautiful and a great vacation so far. We have hiked, kayaked, took a steamboat ride, visited a B-52 crash site, ate lobster a few times and have relaxed! Tomorrow we head to the Acadia Park area--three of us are staying there the second week and the other three area heading home. We have had great weather so far and it is to be nice next week too. A group of four went on a hike at Kineo Island and two of us stayed back It will be a leisurely spent day, reading and spending time on the dock.

I hope everyone has had a good week and a fun weekend planned!

Leaving a trail of friendly (((HUGS)))
Hahaha! I talk to myself a lot Jeanette! Had about 7 more hatch and released 5 more. There are 4 more waiting.

Default Hello!

Hello! It sounds like everyone is having a great week so far.

I have Mom here still, we are busy...... with Physical Therapy visits and just hanging out. I have to laugh- she tells me like it is (aka.... no filter) and when I play piano (she is a beautiful pianist) she tells me I need more practice.....LOL When she grew up, she had to practice 2 hours a day. I am alot better than I used to be though : ) 2nd year student.

Mom had a 4 hour appt today for Neuropsyc testing. It will determine her memory status. We will not hear anything for about 4 -6 weeks. They review entire med records and labs, meds, etc..... She cannot remember what she ate for breakfast by noon, or if she even ate.... She is very pleasant to be around though- she likes to have fun and laugh alot.

I have not been in my craft oom at all- hoping to be there this weekend!

Barb- sounds like an awesome trip- I love Maine! And Lobster : ) We did not get to Acadia when we were there- hope to get back!

Maxine- feel better! Oh to have sinus issues..... Not fun!

Jeanette- safe travels!

Kelly- Safety for you as well with all of the driving you do! Oh boy, I cannot wait to hear about the B-day bash for your son. I had a few of those sleepover parties for my kids.... I have to say- My Mom is a big coffee drinker- I cannot believe how much it costs and how quickly you go thru it! And, what a mess it makes on my counter : )

Darlene- how I wish I could give you a big hug about now! It has to be wonderful and so sad at the same time to be with kids- keeping you in prayers. Hope you can find some joy in your daughters memories.

Maggie- no fun with all of the techy issues you have been having lately- hope it all stays working well. Your educational opportunity sounds awesome, and perfect timing for retirement too!

Lynn- hope the back is getting better, and Maggie- the neck! I have officially been scheduled for a shot in the back next Wednesday......
Mom occupies so much of my time, I still do not have a dress for the wedding- have only looked online so far.

Waving hello to all
Shelly

OH I want to go to Maine with Barb!! I used to live at Loring AFB - or so mom says I don't remember it - I was 9 months old! LOL! She said we went from sunny GA to Maine - in the winter and had like 9 feet of snow and 12 feet icicles ;)

We had some excitement last night - not in a good way! A huge tree in our yard fell, narrowinly missing the roof, dh's truck, my BIL's boat AND my husband! He'd just come in from outside and not 30 seconds later, BOOM! He had JUST been standing under that tree. He wasn't sure from the sound if someone hit the house with a car or a bomb went off. Turns out the treet just couldn't hold it's own weight up anymore and we are so grateful it didn't turn out worse than just being inconvenienced to call the clean up crew and chop it up and haul it all away. Praising God for the miracle of that and just very grateful this morning.

We also surived birthday bonanza - that was WAY FUN! Though I am glad I have all those boys for just 2 days - not for always, lol. And I am glad I'm not a party planner who has to do this every day! WOW - we were exhausted. little man hasn't stopped smiling all weekend ♥

Waving to all my lovely friends and heading to my tiny craft corner!

OMG! Wow Kelly! You are all so very lucky (blessed) to have been out of the way of that tree coming down! Glad that you are all safe as well as the truck.

Glad to hear that Little Man had a wonderful birthday. Did they have games to play? Can't imagine what you did with all those boys!

I went had my MRI today to see what's going on with my neck. I called the chiropractor that I went to years ago because he does acupuncture. I made an appointment with him tomorrow during my lunch hour. I really do not relish going to have shots in my neck so I'm going to try this first to see if he can help my pinched nerve.

We had our annual insurance meeting at work today. Ugh! I hate insurance and even more so today. : I've been on an HSA the last 2 years which has worked out for me with all the issues I've been dealing with. This will be my third year. So they have up'd the deductible thanks to Obamacare!!!! Grrrrr! The issue is now that our deductible year will start October 1 instead of April next year. And the deductible is going up which means that I'll have to pay for any doctor visits I have the last 3 months of this year. So, I went ahead an made all my appointments that I'm going to need during this month so I will only have my well-women visit in November - the earliest I could get in.

I keep getting logged out of here for some reason or another. Anyway, here I am.

Can't even begin to catch up once again but hope everyone and their health issues resolve soon. Know y'all do too!

I did see about the tree Kelly! Scary for sure.
And Maggie - that's a wonderful idea about taking the online classes to finish school and then do something you know you'll love. Kudos to you!

All is rocking along pretty good here.......just up one day and down the next, but hey, we still get up everyone morning so what more could you ask for. Tried to do a little commenting (although didn't get much done due to interruptions) and may start posting again soon.

Hope everyone is doing good.

Oh Kelly, so glad you and yours are all safe - your angels must have been working overtime!!!

Good to see you here Lynn, and to know that you still get up each day :-) some days its harder than others, but hey, wot's life with no effort ;-)

I had card class today and all seemed to go well - I taught the Double Z fold that is on my blog, and then gave them a challenge of some ingredients and they had to design and make their own card - we ran out of time, so they have to bring either the finished card or a photo of it next month. :-)

We are still chugging along here, a bit slower than I would like, but DH has got all his stitches out now so that's good. I am getting behind with the gardens, but they will wait, just means we won't get the vegetables as early as I may like....

Waving to you all from down under

Good to see you, Lynn!

Hi Maxine! I'm sorry you won't get all your veggies, but happy that dh's stitches are out and the healing can begin!

Maggie - girl, you sure are having your fair share of medical boo-boos! I hope the accupuncture works. my (ex) BIL is a chiropracter and while I never had that (or any chiro work), his patients would shout to the heavens how great it was! I hope for you, too.

Tonight is a Drama PTA meeting - tomorrow is school pictures, and my book club meets Thursday this week ~ same day as Boy Scouts, so hopefully dh will take little man to that. Oh and I have to make cards - and blog, and post! And comment!

Sending love!

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Barb, your vacation sounds like a good blend of outings and relaxing... and lots of fun, too! I'm glad you're enjoying it, and also glad you popped in!

Maggie, I hope the acupuncture works for you! Seems like you're having way too many ouchies lately!

Oh my Kelly! That is so scary! So glad no one was hurt - God is good!

Shelly, I had to giggle at your mom telling you that you need more practice. She's just so precious - even if she can't remember what/when she ate, she remembers practice makes one improve - perhaps because she practiced so much herself. You probably bring back memories to her mind when she hears you play.

Lynn, one step at a time! Good to see you posting!

Maxine, your card class - and challenge - sound great! I wish I could attend!

Well, I'm home again from my two trips and lots and lots of meetings. Today I think I'll vegetate. LOL! Actually, I have to run errands and tidy up the house, but other than that I might just hang out in my Working Studio and pet my toys. ;)

Our town's fall festival starts today, but we won't go until tomorrow. That's our "routine" so Brock is good with that. We WILL go Thursday and Friday. It ends on Saturday, but Brock and DH will probably go to the Baptist Children's Home Annual Quilt Sale and Fall Festival on Saturday instead - it's about 30-40 minutes from our house. They've gone to it every year since we've lived here.

So, it's a busy week here.

What's everyone else up to???

Leaving a trail of friendly (((HUGS)))

Good Evening. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are just beautiful. We are staying at a house about 20 minutes away and it too is nice. We have hiked, did a sunset kayak cruise, checked out some lighthouses and the top of Cadillac Mountain, the first place to see the sunrise--but did not do that as we'd need to leave the house at 4:30 to get a parking spot at the top. We went to see a matinee today as it rained this afternoon, called My Name is Doris, with Sally Fields. It was good. Two more days in Maine and we head home Saturday.

Hi girls - we are in for a wet weekend here, so I see some studio time coming up - I got a card made yesterday too - gotta do the ironing this afternoon :-( Sorry for swearing.

Life trundles along here much as usual - DH has another chest infection so is back on meds, and my sinuses are still swearing - went to the Dr again yesterday and he has given ENT a rattle up in the hopes I can get in sooner - bless his cotton socks for that! He changed my meds, but it's more to make me comfortable rather than more antibiotics as they are clearly not working. Never mind, we will both survive.

I did buy some vegetable plants today as I have got a small plot ready, so they can go in next week after the storm.

Hope you all are behaving yourselves and enjoying life.

Hugs and waves from down under - BTW, please don't take offence, but I don't comment on halloween cards.

I went Monday an had my MRI. I did make it to my chiropractor on Tuesday. He thinks that it's the muscle around my elbow that is really tight and constricting that nerve that runs down my arm. He worked it pretty well as well as my neck. Now I have to go back next Monday to my Orthopedist to get the results and decide what the next step is going to be and I'll have them send a copy to my chiro so he can see what it says. Then I'll be better able to take whatever next step is necessary. I also looked up on the Internet some exercises I can do for the elbow muscle. He also told me to put heat, ice, heat on it daily 15 min. each.

I went to Book Club on Tuesday. It was a book that I had recommended and most of them loved it. Not everyone had read it so I think when they do read it, they'll like it too.

Hi ladies. Sorry I've been MIA

I had book club this week and my sis came by one night with her oldest DD. They wanted a tour of my back yard.

Trying to work on projects. My TV in my bedroom is going out. I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has. It was my mom's and she's been gone for 18 years. It's one of those big old box TV's. The picture has started going wonky. I went to look at new ones today. I just want a small 24" or 32" for the desk in my bedroom. I needed to figure out about the cable though because the TV's are different now and don't connect the same way. I found out that I need to go by an AT&T store to get a cable to connect my Receiver to the TV.

The caterpillar business has really slowed down. For whatever reason, I have lost a bunch of them. I think they are being attacked by parasites from the looks of the caterpillars that are trying to make a chrysalis. I also read a blog by a guy who is also having issues with raising his. He has also lost a bunch and has been taking the eggs that he finds and putting them in a butterfly cage in the house and hand feeding them and raising them inside until they hatch. He's only had luck with about 6 that way. I only have a few left in the hutch and yesterday I didn't see any baby ones anywhere.

How frustrating to end your butterfly season like that Maggie - I am sure you have helped a lot make it to maturity - have you kept a running total as to how many you had hatch?

Maxine, I totally understand... a number of years ago - way too many - I swore about ironing too.... swore off of it, that is. ;) I never iron!

Maggie, I'm glad the chiro has given you some things to think about regarding the elbow/pain. Hopefully the exercises and therapy will help a lot. (((HUGS))) I can only imagine how devastating it is to watch the caterpillar/butterfly situation as it is now. You have had such a good season with them and then to end like this. UGH!

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

It rained so much yesterday evening
(and we have puddles to prove it)
so I thought this graphic was very appropriate this morning...

It has been very quiet in the milkweed garden this week. I found 1 large caterpillar this morning. Only one I've seen all week. I fixed up my inside butterfly cage and brought it inside and hope that I can let it mature and hatch inside. I didn't want to put it in the hutch all by itself. I did just see a butterfly flying around my garden, so maybe I'll get some more in a few days.

Meeting with the orthopedist tomorrow to see what the results of the MRI are.

I wish the TV issues were over. I went and bought a new small flat screen TV last night thinking that it was the old big box TV that was the problem, but when I finally got it all hooked up, I was still getting a garbled picture on the new TV, so now I figure it is the receiver. The last time the tech was here he was going to change out the last 2 older receivers, but only changed out the one in my stamp room. Now I have to wait until Wednesday to have another tech come and set up the new receiver. The TV is pretty cool though. It's a ROKU and has a bunch of free things on it including Netflix. I can't wait to explore the other free channels it has on it. This is in addition to my cable channels that I pay for.

Had a bad night last night. I ate some kettle corn before I went to bed last night. Not sure if it was bad or just didn't agree with my stomach, but I woke up at 12:30 feeling really bad and ended up losing what was in my stomach and spending some time on the commode. Finally felt better about 1:30 and able to get back to sleep.

Default Hello!

Hello to all! I have not had any time this past week- nutty! I ran my Mother on alot of errands that needed to be done. Plans were to drive her up to my sisters work on Friday. Well, after Ray's baseball game on Thursday, she had a heart episode and ended up in the hospital all weekend. A bit of heart failure aka Congestive Heart Failure. The numbers were high, but she was not even on Oxygen, and when they gave her some diuretic, she was dropping her B/P..... so there is a delicate balance that needs to be found! The doc said she can still go to the wedding, but needs to spend the night in Denver first.

All I have to do for now in regards to the wedding is shoes. I bought a dress online. Mom (remember no filter? ) told me I need to loose 10 lbs....LOL Oh she is a hoot! I am getting my hair colored and highlighted at a salon- only do that on special occasions...and will get my nails done as well.

Hope to get into the craft room this week- I tried to make a baby card for a shower yesterday, but had absolutely NO MoJo!

I have been keeping up with all of your comments here- will try to blog hop/stop tonight! Hope to pick up some inspiration!

Hugs
Shelly

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Shelly, I am sorry to hear of your mom's health scare and hospitalization. I hope the needed balance falls into place and she does much better. Glad she's still able to go to the wedding!

Maggie, that stinks about the TV situation. It must be frustrating.

Leaving a trail of friendly (((HUGS)))
