Thanks for the pictures...and the time invested...
Now I'm confused again! Do we send the cards we make to someone that packages them to send to TX or are those packages one person's cards?
UHM...I just can't fathom sending that many cards...
BUT...I'm game...going to play...and participate as I can...and enjoy the journey!
A lot of people sent extra cards. I only made one card per challenge last year, but I sent over 100. I cleaned out my stash and sent as many as fit in a large flat rate box. I think it was 141 or something like that.

Yipppeeeee Skipppy!!! I've marked my place in the challenge forum and so ready to play...There are some seriously fun challenges this year girls and I can't wait to see what y'all come up with for them.
I thought I seen those photos on facebook... I think there was a link last year to "LIKE" MD Anderson and see updates from them that way. ( can't remember )
This will be my first HYCTI challenge. There is probably a lot I don't know about yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So far, I've purchased everything on the shopping list (if I didn't already have it). I've precut a lot of base cards. I've purchased a few "HOPE" and "Ribbon" items to use. I heard not to use anything religious. At the end of the month we mail in all our cards.

Any other helpful hints??
You might want to buy snacks. ;)

Paula - What do the S2S $$ mean in your signature? I've seen those on several signatures.
It's Stamp to Spend and those are old numbers! I need to update! I think I'm slightly in the red, but October should change that. Basically, you assign a dollar amount to everything you make and try to keep your spending in line or under your creating.

Hi all, have just been over to Sue at McMahon Five and got the freebie which is so cute and very apt its "Boo-Bees" and while I was there I bough a few digi stamps relating to this challenge. Well worth a look. ;)
Cheers
Hi everyone! Thought I'd check in now that we're SO CLOSE!!! Yay! Can't wait to get started, especially since I missed DTGD.
Welcome to the newbies (I was one of you last year). You are in for an incredible experience! There is so much love and caring shared here, along with a bunch of silliness and laughter. The SCS family is amazing, and I'm so happy to be a part of it!

I am so glad you put the link Marg down under, I love those BOO BEES. Cute.
So I've been watching and reading but not posted. Can't wait for tomorrow. I've done lots of SCS challenges and even been a hostess but this is one I've never done. I'm excited to get started.

Mildly interesting fact: One of my neighbors works for MD Anderson in research.

Yes, I think so. Spreadsheet. ( because, I always print the spread sheets to jot ideas and notes on them) some people save them to their computers and just type in their notes.
I'm going to try to get my birthday cards for this month made in the next couple of days, then straighten up my crafting area, well, more like clear space to work. I like to go with the flow with challenges, there are a great variety. I too make cards of all sizes depending on what I like for the design so no precutting or prepping images for me either. I don't know when I'd do that anyway.
I have a question for those who sent in more than the HYCCT challenge cards...
If you sent in cards from your stash did you send cards for birthday, anniversary, congrats?
ALSO...does anyone know about how many challenges there are in the month? I know there are 31 at least...but are there 50 or 100? Or is that part of the anticipation of the days ahead?
I can't remember how many challenges there were for DTGD but it was fun...

DTGD is more challenges numbers wise because there were as many as 7 a day right? some days 5 some days 6 or 7?
there will be three on the opening day. most days are one a day.
I think last year I sent in about 40 cards ( no stash ones) some challenges I felt like the card I did I could do better so I did alternate versions and some cards I flat out did duplicates. (because all the pieces were there and I had time)

There are usually extra challenges on the first day and on the last day, but most days are just one.
Yes, I sent birthday cards, love, thank you, anything that wasn't reliegious, get well, or sympathy.

Hello ladies! REALLY getting excited! I'm off work today so my craft room's getting a thorough cleaning so I'm ready to mess it up again tomorrow! I haven't checked the supplies list but I can shop as I go (if need be). I do have a meeting tomorrow morning and work tomorrow night so I'll probably start out behind but that's all right - I'm sure I'll catch up. My goal is ALWAYS to complete all of the challenges.
I have a large SU order coming in a few days so I'll have some new "toys" to play with soon. Hopefully I can use some of it on my HYCCT challenge cards.
Thanks for the link and photos of the big pile of cards. So cool to see. Lynn, fun seeing your beautiful butterfly card in the pile. That was gorgeous!
Trying to get some other crafty projects finished up today, so I'll be ready for tomorrow.

Anything and everything. See THIS POST in the FAQ threads. I made it clickable for you ;).
And remember, for those who like to keep up with the daily challenges - while you can't combine HYCCT challenges (so that as many cards as possible go to MD Anderson) but you CAN combine with any other challenges. I made a TLC card today (loved that technique, got another card in the pipeline already) but I used a HYCCT challenge for tomorrow  so I can't upload it yet!
This is just as much fun as DTGD but a lot less frantic with only one card a day most days. More time for chatting .

My style is often without a sentiment so now I don't think this will be as difficult as I've been thinking it will be...I've got my head stuck somewhere...but realizing that what I already do is probably all I need to do unless a challenge stretches me with a technique I don't understand!
Guess I'll tell krapoppa that if I'm having hot flashes I might as well go to the stamp room starting tomorrow night...maybe there'll be some late night people chatting...he can sleep and I'll stamp!!!!

Yeah - I'm not a big sentiment person either.
Or I used not to be, I think I've changed a bit over the years!
Last year two or three of the HYCCT challenges actually called for words, and I found them so hard. One just called for any sentiment, but one was "5 words - use five individual words". I think it was my least favourite of all the cards I made, LOL.
Yes, and I'm jealous...there is only one sentiment in that set that I would use so the price of $24 is a bit much! (Nope, I'm not stalking you, just remember a post from recent where you posted a link to a set and I liked one of the images!)
Does anyone know what time the challenges get posted each day? (I think it was 7 or 8 for DTGD.)

I am hoping I can complete the HYCCT monthly challenge also. I took up a watercoloring class that is kinda stressing me out. With the class, babysitting and all the other activities and responsibilities I hope I can still find time to make all the cards. If not, I have cards in my stash that I can mail to MD Anderson that should be appropriate.

Can't remember on the challenge time.
I felt like that about SU's Word Play (2011). I adore 3 sentiments, like about 3 more, would never, ever use 2. So I'd have to see it at a real steal of a price to go for it. But every time Lydia posts a card using it I'm back to eBay.
The Verve ones, more of them work with the sort of cards I sometimes need to make. And I got it on sale too ,

It's *no later than* 8 AM CST every day. I might do them earlier, but 8 at the latest.
I am really looking forward to the challenges starting tomorrow! Last year was the first time I participated. I didn't complete every challenge, but it was a lot of fun.
I'm looking forward to the HYCCT challenges! I just completed my final reconstructive surgery step for breast cancer on Friday and am itching to get back in my craft room. Last year was my first year participating and it was a blast! Hope to complete more this year!
