Minders, please tell me the new colors are way prettier in real life! They look a bit dull in that pdf file-to be expected, I guess, and it's cloudy here today! I was right about a new blue anyway.

Well....the PDF is supposed to be for demos only:-) So don't go by it...the colors on the computer are never true to life or even in the catalog.
I was very skeptical about the colors as they seem and are close to what we have but I do like them. They are fresher/more modern versions of some of our colors. The yellow may not be everyone's cup of tea but I personally like it. I even have a sweater that color:-) They are very rich. I also think they pair nicely with the other in color set. And the new inks stamp wonderfully and the colors look amazing!
I hope I'm wrong, but the new in colors look like some of the older retired colors, namely Midnight Muse looks like Blue Bayou, Raspberry Ripple looks like Purely Pomegranate and Summer Starfruit looks like Crushed Curry. I like the Primrose Petals, it's a pink I haven't seen before, but all the others are leaving me feeling ho-hum. Maybe if I see the colors in real life I'll feel better disposed. But I must say that I LOVE the new dies. They are bundled for variety which is great because sometimes I don't need 6 sizes of the same die. Demos, please keep your sample cards coming to boost my enthusiasm.

They are similar to some colors but they are different shades. I really didn't think I'd like them and I do! And SU has never said that some colors won't be close to other colors...the in colors are just there to be trendy and modern and keep our pallet fresh. And these colors are all the rage right now, I have clothes in all of them I think, lol!
I was really hoping the blue would be a more medium blue. It looks more like navy, which is a color I don't use a whole lot.
When I really think about it though, how long could SU come up with colors that aren't "similar" to other colors? There are only so many colors in the world and so I think it would be pretty hard for them to come up with extremely different ideas all the time. Still wish I could have a nice soft peach, though.
If that Raspberry is anything like Pomegranate I'll be one happy lady since that was a favorite of mine and for some reason I decided I didn't need to stock up when it retired. Big mistake!

Can I just say DITTO to all you wrote???
I will have died and gone to heaven if Rasp Ripple is anything close to Purely Pom!
All of the new products look AMAZING and I am very excited. June 1st can't get here soon enough! Thanks for sharing the sneak peek and Minders, your card is great!
I didn't scroll down far enough. Oh.my.goodness. that designer paper is GORGEOUS!!! All of it! I better hurry up and use some of the old stuff I have sitting around here so I have room for more!
I didn't like any of the DP in the catalog last year, I'm so happy that I'll be able to get some this year. Patience pays off!
ETA: Loving the new 1/4" stitched ribbon too.

Yes, the DSP is fabulous. At first I wasn't too keen on the new colors, but the DSP really shows them to their advantage. Loving the Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals. And when I think about it, the new in colors are a nice contrast to the bright current in colors, which I love too. Can't wait to see the new catty. I like the direction SU is taking. Anyone have any news on punches?

Minders, which designer paper did you get? All three? I even like the Christmas one and was wondering if there is much there that can be used outside of the holiday.

Only one...the flowers. I won't get the Christmas until much later if I do get it and I'm ordering the other one on Monday when I can order my catalog.
Thank you all for the snippets and peaks; always excited to see what"s new!
But from what I can see, online of course and not in real life, I'm not loving the new colours. They do seem dull and repetitive to me as well. But once I see them and work with them at a workshop with my demo, I usually get a better feel for them.
I have looked at the samples in the gallery and nothing jumps out at me yet as needing to have. Can't wait to see the whole catalogue though
You evidently tried to click on the link inside a grey quote box. You'll need to scroll a few above it to find mzza111's original post, where the link is functional.

I know I am a computer idiot, but not being able to open a link that everyine else is enjoying is rather annoying.
Also how do I insert a "quote" into my replies? I did say I an a computer idiot!!!
Thanks in advance.
Chances are the link isn't working because it's supposed to be a demo-only document...I'm trying to log onto the demo site right now and it seems to be down....
Ack! She has the cake set! So jealous! You had to earn that one to get it early and I didn't. Pouting over here:-) That is ONE set that will be on my June 1 order!!!!!
Until I see them in real life I'm not saying anything...it's too hard to tell from small snippets on a computer monitor. And I don't think we are supposed to announce them yet anyway:-) I will be next day airing my order on May 1 which will hopefully include the colors so I can play with them on May 2 and post to my blog:-)
I was wondering how you can order any of the new items May 1st. Don't the demos have to wait until May 7th? Or can some demos order early?

Mary
ALL demos can order as of May 1. We used to get a copy of the catalog in that order as well but this year because of how they are changing the catalogs we can't get the CATALOG until May 7. Many demos are waiting to order as to not have to pay shipping twice but I'm a sucker, lol! :-) I had the day off to play so I wanted to order. And there was NO way I was giving the day back....I NEED a day off by this time of year!
I'll order again on the 7th for my catalog. I think they held the catalog because the incentive trip is this week (Disney) and those demos always get to see it first.
Now I'm excited! I love yellow and that Summer Starfruit looks different that the others I have.
I also find myself reaching for the darker blues (Night of Navy, Not Quite Navy) all of the time. I've used up more Night of Navy CS than any other color. So Midnight Muse will be a nice addition.
Not sure about the Raspberry and Primrose. I'm not a pink fan, but Primrose might be one of the shades of pink that I like.
I'll have to see Gumball Green and how it compares to the others. Green is my favorite color in general but I have a lot of options already.

That's weird. I just went and clicked and it came up okay. :( I don't know how to get it to you some other way. Maybe just keep trying?
Would you beleive that I still can't access the link. However, I emailed a friend that I had passed the link onto and adked if she had had any troubles accessing it - No she hadn't. So she saved the doc as a PDF and emailed it to me. So yay I can finally see it. AND I have worked out how to inset a quote into my posts.

Thanks minders for your samples... loving the cards!
There are two more on my blog! Just click the link in my signature! I also have a review of the ink pads which are amazing! I seriously want to replace ALL my pads, like NOW, lol! There is a learning curve and you have to stamp a bit different but it's all GOOD! The coverage is so much better!
We can't show any pictures of the actual products until the catalog goes live, just samples we make. The pads look the same on the outside but they come with labels on the bottom that you can peel off and put on the end with the name in whatever language you choose. That's why they had to take the names off the end....when they started selling in other markets...there are strange rules about languages I guess.
The pad looks only slightly different. You can tell it's obviously not linen and you can't see the pattern on the material. There also aren't any threads coming off the pads...many of mine are fraying. You can also see the pads are SUPER JUICY!!!! They are very well inked! I was afraid my stamp was over-inked when I stamped the first time but it was PERFECT!!!!
And am I the only one who saw that little bird stamp started singing "Hello world there's a song that we're singin....come on get happyyyyyyyyyy" hahahah! It just reminds me of the Partridge Family beginning haha!

Minders, the explanation of the new ink pads on your blog was super helpful--thank you so much for sharing it! I can't wait to try them.
One question about the new ink pads--I like to squeeze the closed ink pad to make a little pool of ink in the lid and then use my blender pens to color images with the pooled ink. Will I still be able to do that with the new pads or is the ink a different consistency?

June 1 can't get here soon enough!!!
I just got home and tried it and it seems to work just fine. I actually think it left a better pool of ink than before....it's only the pad that's been reformulate (except for 5 colors) so the ink should be the same...it just seems to work much better on this form of pad!
