Just spent the evening making copies of the stickers for my and my mom's stamp book, assembled my stamps, etc. Organized the paper, cut the ribbon, oh can't wait t play tomorrow!!!
This is my opinion, not try to be negative, just stating how I feel. I have seen alot of changes over the 12 years that I have been a demo. We all have our likes and dislikes, that's what makes us individuals.
I can honestly say this year SAB has really disapointed me. I have a club that meets once a month and this is our 4th year. They feel the same way. They look forward to exclusive stamp sets and were disappointed to see items for SAB that are available in the regular catalog. I had several gals put their orders together to get a SAB item. They said they really didn't find anything in the SAB that "wowed" them enough to warrent spending their hard earned $50 for. I can usually get sales by having a project for them using some of the SAB items. But, this year you had to place an order to earn them and that is something I did not do. I am very selective on what I order and not willing to spend the extra money to earn SAB sets.
The new catty will be out before you know it and I can spend my money there.

Funny how opinions can differ. There are just as many (acually more) SAB exclusive items than ever (4 stamp sets, 1 dsp, 1 ribbons and brad, plus 2 MDS). The extra items from the regular catalog I see as a bonus, for anyone who wants even more or likes those better.
I was thrilled to be able to get the SAB items for free with preorder this year instead of having to pay for them, just to get them early. I got lots for free with my occasions mini preorder and clearance rack blitz - a great perk for demos.
I also got lots of great swaps and ideas to use with all the sets at the SU Leadership conference. Now I love all the sets and can't wait to try out all the new ideas.
I posted some of my Leadership photos in the gallery. You can go to my gallery or to Special Collections/Stampin' Events/SU Events/ Leadership 2012 and San Antonio Regionals 2012. I'll try to get more up later today.
I was disappointed with the push of the one set of in colors. I thought for sure they should have something for both sets of in colors.
And last year they had a selection out of the main catalog with tons of sets. I do, however, like what they have in the SAB, not everything, but there are a few sets I like. I do have to hand it to my demo though. Sets I didn't think I liked, I love the projects she did, so now I have to have them.
Goes to show you the power of a good demo!!! HAHAHAHAH!

I'm guessing they pushed the newer in colors since the older ones will be retiring with the new catalog. That being said, I'll really miss the older ones:-)
On Friday, I attended a workshop, the first one in over a year for me. I too, was a bit disappointed in the selection of stamps to choose from in the SAB booklet. The demonstrator used the FRESH VINTAGE stamp set as one of our projects. It was very pretty, and I was actually torn between that set, and the OUTLINED OCCASIONS set, which is the one I ended up ordering. The only other item I may have chosen would have been the paper pack of solids, the in colors. Not much else interested me. I too, was actually disappointed in the overall selection this year.

I feel they pushed the older in-colors in the mini....Blushing Bride buttons (with Baja) and Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride pleated satin ribbon. Blushing Bride smootch. Also the Twitterpatted dsp has BB and PP. I guess they just pushed those two but they are my favorite and I will miss them dearly ;( I also like Peach Parfait a lot!

I really like the new SAB catalogue. The choices of items to select from are great. Some of the stamps in the SAB actually come from the IBC. I hope SU keeps the SAB in this format. My workshop gals are thrilled with it and have no proplem choosing items to get, & neither do I. No matter what change is hard to get use to & not everyone will be happy, but I feel Su has hit a good one with the SAB.

I actually love the SAB offerings this year, but I think they are missing one thing, I think one "open line" set that could be colored with multiple seasons would have rounded out the selection nicely, IMHO. But I'm still a happy camper.

Yeah, I agree. I looked at it this afternoon because I have Stamp Club on Thursday. I see a lot of in-colors and I don't usually buy them. They may be close enough match to other permanent colors though, i.e. Certainly Celery (I'm hoping!). I am thinking of either getting the brads and ribbon or the DP.

I wish Concord Crush (that is the right name, isn't it?) would live forever! Can't believe they got rid of all those purples and violets. I used them a lot!!

I don't use that one a lot but it's always sad when your "new" fave color goes away:(

I will have to stock up big time on Pear P. I don't usually get too carried away with stocking up on in-colors, but PP has replaced Certainly Celery for me and I imagine crafting without it. I have yet to embrace Lucky Limeaid. It's so close to Old Olive (IMO) and I'm not an Old Olive fan. I don't know why, but never have been.

I too, love concord crush--especially with wisteria wonder! It seems like they just refreshed the main colors not that long ago, but the next time they do that, I sure hope concord crush comes back. Same with pear pizzazz. In fact, the only in color I don't really care for is pink pirouette, but I am not a pink person, and everyone else seems to love it

The color renno was about two years ago. They said they would freshen the colors every couple of years but not to the extent on the big one. I liked pink pirouette at first but now I pass it over for blushing bride! I like it better as a soft pink!
Kim, your mini album is so cute and easy to make. i made one in the blink of an eye and then made a bride's wish book out of the precut card set in the Occasion Mini. It is beautiful. I love the SAB selection this year. Last year I didn't get a single SAB exclusive set but this year I had to have 3 out of the 4. Fresh Vintage and the Everyday Enchantment DSP are so gorgeous they make me smile just thinking about using them.

I use Pink Pirouette a lot and I think I am on my third package!
