custom blog background in blogger HELP!

ok i have been fighting with blogger for HOURS trying to upload a custom background and i cannot get it to work. i have done it before. but only a couple times on other blogs. this is an old blog that use to be my main blog before i went to wordpress. now i want to switch back. does anyone have any thoughts, ideas or instructions that might help me?????????

i have the background saved on my computer. i go in to design. i click on backgrounds, upload the image, hit apply and nothing happens. i looked at my other blog - put all my settings the same and still nothing.......anyone have any advice?

Okay I'm not at my desktop so I can't look but the image is the right size? And you do "save changes" after you hit apply?

Are you on the new blogger template system?

i figured it out. so dumb too - i had a very old thing on there from cutest blog on the block. it did not show up but it was blocking my background and when i deleted it while cleaning up in general ta da - there is my background. sheesh my brain hurts from all that!
