Hi Vicki, I would love to join this challenge. I have been thinking about all the Christmas cards I should be making to prepare but never seem to get around to getting started. This is the perfect little push to get me started! I would like to set my goal at 5 (but I have a feeling I will probably do more)
Thanks so much for the opportunity to join in!
Lisa
Hi! I'd like to join this challenge. I need around 30 cards this year, and am hoping to make 5-10/month (June-Nov). My second child is due at the end of October, so I'm hoping to have most of them done before then.
Hey Linda! Welcome to the group. Congrats on the new baby on the way. There are a wonderful bunch of ladies here. They are all talented and encouraging. Do you know how to find the threads for each month? That is where you will need to post your cards each month to be eligible for the goody drawing.
Sorry I've been MIA. I'm so glad this isn't my thread. I'd feel even worse than I do.
Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is Elf Day! I know I'm behind a couple of months. But I need to work on swap stuff tomorrow. But I will be checking in here to say hi and see what everyone is up to.
Merry Christmas!

Hey RDey! Welcome to the group. I think you'll find all the information and links you need in Post #1. But feel free to ask questions. We're all here to support one another.
How many cards would you like to do in your remaining months?
VikkiJo will get you added to the master list ASAP. She works away from home and probably won't be back until sometime tomorrow or Sunday. That gives you time to post your pledge amount :-)

Just remember to check in when you get home, Debbie. I'm here on and off all day :-) Well, I take that back. Due to my new job, I'm only here until about 5 CST today. I'm covering the FFA horse show out at the high school this evening.

I'm buzzing the email then I'm headed upstairs to the dining room table where all of my altering work is spread out. I have to get this swap done and in the mail by Monday. But I woke up this morning with the LO for my next set of Christmas cards.
I'll be checking in here at the top of the hour for about 10 minutes every 2 hours.
Come say hello!

Just popping in to say hi while I eat my breakfast. I'm itching to make some cards, but I really need to work on my medical transcription course. I'm pushing myself to get it done by the end of the summer. I purchased a couple Christmas digital images i'm going to try to color while I'm helping out at the Art In The Garden Tour tomorrow afternoon. That is, if I get myself organized this evening. Have a great day, everyone. Happy creating!
Good luck on completing your course early. I know a gal locally who does that and although it is time-consuming, she loves the flexibility of her hours.
Art in the Garden sounds like a cool event.

Clipping right along on these CD mini books. They are soooo cute. I took one into my local library last week. The director likes to see my current projects. I'm now scheduled to teach a class on them at the local library in late July as an activity for the Adult Summer Reading program. I'm thinking of using Christmas papers and suggesting them as a Gift Reminder for things we can give every day that don't cost a penny.

Thanks, Kelly. I am so close to finishing the course. There was a time not too long ago I thought about giving up on it, but after all the time and money I have invested in it, there's no way I could afford not to finish.
Art in the Garden is a cool event. It's fun to see someone else's gardens up close and get some really great ideas. But it's real neat to see artwork set up among the flowers and shrubs. The gardens and artwork really compliment each other. Everyone who buys a ticket for the tour gets their name in a drawing to win a piece of artwork of their choice among a selection of art that will be displayed at one of the homes. Not everyone gets an original painting or drawing (dh's medium) for $5. Wish you all could be here to see it.
I want to jump in on this! I don't usually send out Christmas cards but I want to get a stack done for my Dad's class he goes to up at the VA hospital! I'm gonna say... 4-10 a month! hope this keeps me on track better!

Me too! Sounds like an awesome way to spend a summer saturday.

Welcome Ycats. Vikki will get you added to the list. Great cause. Do you send Yule cards?

The weather wasn't very nice to us for the Art In The Garden Tour this afternoon. It started out to be a beautiful, sunny day. A few minutes before the tour was to begin, the wind came up and we were scrambling to save the artwork. One painting fell onto the concrete and shattered the glass. Thank God, the painting itself wasn't damaged. Then about 2:00 a big black cloud came through with a cold wind. I was dressed for summer not winter. Then it started sprinkling toward quitting time. The wind always manages to blow during these tours but it's usually very hot. As soon as we got everything all packed up, the sun came out again. All in all, it was a fun afternoon. Lots of people toured the gardens despite the weather. No sales, but that's not unusual. One event down, two more to go before the rest of the summer is relaxation time. And, hopefully, cardmaking time.

Mother Nature always knows when these events come up. :-) She's just seeing how we'll deal with her. Sounds like you guys did fine.

I did learn one thing yesterday. Don't dress for summer. Anyway, that's one event down, two to go. This week will be filled with work and picking up last minute stuff for the 4th of July celebration we organize for the community. The following weekend is our Relay For Life. Then it should be smooth sailing until the holidays, I think.
