Stickles vs. Tulip

I found a 12 pack of Tulip Puffy Paint Glitter for cheap at Wal-Mart, but when I brought it home, I noticed that the "glue" looks murkier and the glitter less fine and not as well disbursed. I also did a quick search on the board and read that the Tulip paints maintain their "puffiness" whereas the Stickles are flat when dry.

Anyone use Tulips for their card crafting? How does it compare to Stickles? The Tulips come out to less than $1 each whereas Stickles in my area are close to $3. I'm debating if I should try the Tulips or return them and get a few good Stickles...any thoughts?

I love my Stickles! I've not used the Tulip glitter glue, but I've used Tulip fabric paint to decorate t-shirts & sneakers.

i would venture that it would depend on the look you want. i have both tulip and stickles. when i want just a glittery look, i use stickles. if i want a dimensional/raised look, i go with tulip.

I've tried other glitter glues and in my opinion, there is no comparison to Stickles. The Stickles have such a tiny nozzle and you get control to put a fine line exactly where you want it. And Stickles is very glitter-intensive for lots of sparkle.

I first bought several colors, but found that I liked using just the Stardust, Diamond, or Crystal. These translucent colors seem to reflect whatever color you put them over and give a nice sparkly effect. I seldom use the other colors I bought.

You can find these 3 colors at Mikes and Hobby Lobby in a 3-pack for about $5.

I agree with buggainok that the Stickles are the best quality by far.

I use several colors depending on the project or color paper or ink they are applied to. The Stickles are not flat when dry. They do give a raised surface to some extent. It's not a mountain effect, but then again on a card, I don't want that much additional texture.

I feel Stickles are worth the $2.50 each I pay for them. The bottle lasts a very long time. A little goes a long way.

I love my stickles! The little wow efect it gives is amazing. I love the tiny applicator because I can "fill in" areas perfectly. My favorite color is Eucalyptus, it is a light shade of green and perfect on alot of my projects. Stardust, Diamond and Crystal are must haves. I love all the colors even black diamond and gun metal...oh don't get me started on stickles LoL!

I use both Tulip and Stickles. Tulip comes in several formulations. I'm not crazy about Tulip glitter. But Tulip dimensional paint in other formulation is great. I especially like the white shiny, which I use frequently for snow. Tulip dimensional paint dispensers allow for precise placement too (or at least as precise as I need). Stickles is special because its glitter is color mixed by artists, and although one color predominates, when you look at the dried, finished project under artificial light, you can see the variety of beautifully mixed colors that make Stickles look so rich --it has real depth.
