Oh man I can remember, just barely, the time when my boys quite hanging around mom and dad. The transition time was hard to go through but in the end there are grand kids that make up for it!! Hang in there Lela.
OK I think I am getting the hang of these message boards! I must say I love stocking all the chit chatter ;) Ok so I just had to do a layout today before heading off to Thanksgiving dinner.... (1 of 6 for October Goal!)
Great page, it is all too fast when those little ones grow up. What memories you will have of that time with this picture and he will too (later) when he sees the page.
I made a couple more pages this week end, but have to make a run to have my disk unloaded and some developed, before I take more pictures. It takes way too long to down load into my PC with so many photos on the disk.
Still plugging along with my Disney album! I finished the title page and Festival of the Lion King but haven't photographed them yet. Still hoping that light box shows up under my Christmas tree! lol
The beginning of school slowed me down for August and September but now I'm up and running for October! Wish me luck
Lela, so sorry to hear about this transition. I know it will come to me some day, too, but right now I'm on the other end of the spectrum. If you want to borrow my little guys for a day, feel free to fly out to California! Hope your mojo comes back soon. I was in a slump all last month, so it's nice to be scrapping again.
I would LOVE to borrow them...the circus is in town, LOL! :o

My 9 yr old has told me he's never going to have a girlfriend or get married so I'm thinking of having him putting it in writing ... Mama needs someone to take care of her
DO IT....someday you won't regret it, you'll want to hold him to it. What happened to girls being icky...that was yesterday wasn't it, haha!

Thanks for thinking of me, I'm hoping its a few years for GK's. I'm just going to have to learn to do stuff I like and not feel guilty about it anymore, haha!

Even if you don't know what to chat about, it's good to see you checking in. Will you have a chance to join in the fun on the 23rd for the mini VSBN?
For some reason, I had thought that the 23rd was for Sept, not Oct. I might be able to drop in for a little bit since it is Oct.

No Scrappin' today for me...I planned to get a couple more pages done for Cheryl's LOAD Challenge but just didn't have the mojo...
I'm in "sad mode" and hope that my upcoming SCRAP Weekend will pull me out of it. As you know, my youngest son has his license and car, well, now he has a girlfriend and so I've been noticing over the last month he's been spending more time with friends and less time with me and DH. We've always done so much together (he's the baby). Well, this weekend was 80, beautiful Fall color and sun here. I wanted to go somewhere today and he finally shared that he didn't want to hurt my feelings but he was taking GF to the zoo. Taking HER to the zoo?! Gasp!
My DH felt sorry for me so he put away his painting stuff and took me out for picnic at the park w/ a Pumpkin Pie DQ Sundae to top it off. It was nice but just not the same w/o JT. I realize we're in that time of life...it's so transitional.... Thanks for letting me share... I feel better now
Okay, I totally started crying when I read this. I'm so on the opposite side, just waiting for a chance to have a little more "me" time without a baby attached. I wish I could still blame the crying on horomones, but with baby being 6 mo. old, I don't think that still counts. I understand the whole "sad mode" though. I'm jealous of your scrap weekend. Hope you have lots of fun!

All these great Fall inspirational pages are making me want to scrap some pics I took this am in the leaf pile with ds2 ....He was having a blast running and jumping in the pile he made with Daddy yesterday!

Kelli...it IS on the hormones and don't let anyone tell you different! I had Post Partum Depression both times, with my second one worse than my first and neither started 'within 6 weeks' as the doctors say 'it must'. Also, the first one lasted about 14 months and the second 22 months. Not to mention the normal tired and exhaustion that comes with having little ones...don't think that went away until they were in school full time. You must make time for yourself, even if you need to hire a sitter to stay with your child while you take a nap in the same house! If you don't recharge it just builds up and gets worse. I feel for ya girl!
This past weekend I went to a scrap weekend in Durham, NC. It was a lot of fun! I completed 12 LOs. I will probably bump my monthly goal up a bit since the mini VSBN is this month. Hopefully I will get my LOs from the weekend posted to the gallery soon.

You know, I teared up reading Lela's post too! I can't imagine getting to that point yet. And I'm right there with you Kelli! I was so used to "me" time before DGS came to live with us and the 1st 2 or 3 years wasn't too bad but as I've gotten older and he's gotten "wiser" (now 7) I've gotten extremely more tired after working a full 10 hr day and then having to come home to deal with homework and housework and stuff! I feel fortunate if I just get to sit down in the evenings for an uninterrupted hour to watch my favorite soap that I recorded that day!
I think all the discussion about our children is a good reminder why we need to take ME time and get our scrapping done. My son is having a hard time remembering things we've done because our photos aren't in albums. I 'm trying really hard to make sure they are getting done, so he can relive some of those. It's ok for us to take the necessary time (balanced of course) to make those albums happen. When our boys/kids are the age that Lela's are in now, we will treasure those pages more. We need to scrap the seasons we are in and treasure every minute. We may have to scrap at a slower pace when they are so little and needy, but we need to give ourselves permission to take the time. I haven't been good at doing that. That needs to CHANGE!

Both of you are very deserving! I had great fun putting several pages into my favorites to use for inspiration later! I did chuckle to wonder if you guys would scraplift from each other ....

I can't think of two better scrappers to pick! I might have to scraplift one from each of their galleries. The trouble will be in trying to select just ONE from each gallery. Congratulations, ladies, you both deserve it!!

Just spent some time searching through the galleries of our featured scrappers. Woah! There are some great pages. I think I have the ones I'd like to scraplift, now just need to find time.

I reached my October goal last night. I'm so surprised as there has been so much happening in my house that I didn't think I'd have any time at all to scrap. DH and I went to Kentucky the end of Sept. for the World Equestrian Competition. We are not horse people at all, but it was really interesting. Then I went to SLC for a crafting event sponsored by Oh My Crafts. It was incredible!
Our oldest son, his wife, and our two little grandsons have been living here for the past month. They take possession of their new home today, so we will be busy moving them. It is sure going to be quiet when they leave.
I'm hoping to be able to do some scraplifting next week and play along with the challenge! So many great pages to choose from.

Ack - time has gotten away from me! Good news is, I'm halfway to my October goal! Bad news? I haven't uploaded anything to the gallery in over a week!
They are on my flickr page, if anyone wants to see. I'll try hard to get them uploaded here tomorrow.
***Also, I wanted to let you know that Coordinates Collections is having their quarterly online crop this weekend. The challenges have already been posted, and you have until Tuesday to complete them for a chance to earn prizes + store discounts. I know some of you have participated before, and I hope to see you again. If nothing else, some of the challenges should definitely help you get some pages done!***
