Problem with "comment" on my blog

Hello everyone
I have a problem on my new (first) blog. My first posting had the "comment" label at the bottom & has had a reply left. My second posting seems to have lost the label. I have double-checked all the items on my dashboard but cannot spot what might have changed. :confused: Poor little fellow I am using him a lot.
Perhaps you won't mind if whilst I am here I ask another question? This morning I found a blog that had the same background as me but the header section was deeper than mine. Part of my header information gets lost behind the images.

Check your settings. You can do this in two ways. First check to see that you are allowing comments on blogs. Do that by clicking on the setting tab (or link from dashboard), then click on comments. Ensure that you have the following settings:

Comments = Show
Who can comment = Anyone (your choice really, but why block people?)
Comment Form Placement = your choice
Comments Default for Post = New Posts Have Comments

If all this is correct, edit your post and at the bottom of the post form, click on post options. Ensure the following:

Reader comments = Allow

That should take care of it. Let us know if it doesn't!

Thank you Draygonflies - that seems to have cured it. It seems to have been the "Comments Default for Post" - I had the opposite selected. No idea why because it seems an illogical choice.
Will do my next new post tomorrow & start blogging properly.
