Hi San Jose Lady,I used to live near where you are. I was in Palo Alto 1976/77.Loved it!
I also ordered some of the Croco paints and one of the Precious Metals Paints from The Craft Barn in England. Susana didn't seem to have those on her website- or I would have ordered those things from her too. On top of the Pearl/Paper/Gel Pens that is.
I can hardly wait to try them out, although I'm sure I will have probably a two week wait for the stuff coming from England. And as my daughter will be bringing the stuff from Susana when she visits me next month- I will have to wait for that too!
Wow your ATC cards are gorgeous. I just went over to your blog and you do stunning work.

Aww *blushing*, thank you! I've had one of those "nothing going right" days today so it's a nice boost to have some kind words

The Craft Barn people are lovely! Funnily enough that's where I got my Croco and Precious Metal paints from. Hopefully it won't take too long to reach you and you'll be able to play to your heart's content.
One thing about the Croco - don't use it on a rush project! Because you put it on thick, it takes a long time to dry. I've only let it dry naturally but other UK crafters on one of the forums I hang out on there have said it doesn't give such a good crackle if you try to speed it up with the heat gun so your best bet is to apply it and then just walk away and go do something else.
Thanks for the tip about using the Croco, Joanne! I did read something about that somewhere- maybe 24 hours to dry?
I will be climbing the walls waiting for it to arrive here in Canada. I am assuming that it might take two weeks to get here, but then a letter from a community 50 minutes drive from my place took 10 days...sigh.
Craft Barn was the name that came up. I tried one place in Eastern Canada that was supposed to be carrying that and the Tera (Terra?), but when I went to their website, nothing came up, no matter how I spelled the words.
I always like trying "new" things. I belong to THREE Atc groups and I am having the time of my life making the cards and "eggsperimenting in my laboratory"(should be read with a mad scientist accent like Boris Karloff???).

Shouldn't take that long - they recommend a minimum of 2mm thick and they say a couple of hours to dry. My craft room may be colder than their test conditions because I think it was more like double that but nothing like a whole day! The Craft Barn is one of those places that could do serious damage to your credit card - eek!
I just tried to order some Decor Pens and with shipping it was going to be around $57 for 2 pens! (6.95 each and the rest shipping) Yikes! Do any craft stores sell them? I'm in southern california.
Hi Phillis
I ordered 7 of the pens altogether and MY total including the shipping was 45.56, so HOW can yours be 57.00 for TWO items?? And mine is being shipped to Washington state... I even got a refund on the postage becasue it was less than they thought it would be. Initially the postage was 6.75, and it ended up being 5.00.
Something's wrong somewhere. Did you ask for same day delivery or next day ??

goodNESS - why don't you just order the pens here in the US? Susana's is in CA so you will probably get them super fast too and for ALOT less!
From where were you going to order them with the postage being that much???
I ordered mine from Susana's in California. Can't figure out where you have gone wrong. It's not an elephant you are having delivered LOL!
Diana
NOW you have to tell us how many you ordered. Or was it the two you were originally trying to get?
I can't wait for mine, but I guess I will just have to put my Patience hat on for a few weeks.
I ordered several of the pens and some other things from Susana's last Friday - and I had them, in Illinois, on MONDAY. Super fast shipping. I was very impressed with the service from her.
i played with another fun Viva product you will want to keep an eye out for - modeling grass! susana has it in her store in 2 colors but i used the ones i got from the class at CHA - i attched pics here but you can get way more detailed shots on my blog. i also have a video on yesterday's post showing the modeling grass and how i used it on the tags.......i would love to know what y'all think nd i ENCOURAGE you to let susana know which products you are hoping to see - that way she knows what we are all looking for!
hugs
M
The Precious Metal paints work really well with the Croco, too. I just made this pendant with a shaped inchie coated in Croco and then sponged over with Precious Metal so I didn't get full coverage and it gives a short of shell-like finish. Precious Metal works really nicely on glass too and I've read it's fab on polymer clay but I haven't tried that yet.
pleaseeeee pleaseee make a tutorial on how to make that cool thing, i love it:-D
I too just got some of these from Susanna's (in lots of colors of course), and she's great on shipping them out right away. Her customer service is excellent...she's one of the best, and you'll be very happy with your purchase. The video tutorials by Suzanne and Marti made it look so easy and fun, I just couldn't resist!!!
Mine should come tomorrow, and I can hardly wait to play with them....
I ordered my Pearl Paints Wednesday afternoon and they were it my daughter's home in Washington state Saturday afternoon. I won't get them until mid-April, but that's okay, I have plenty of other toys to play with...LOL!
And I am expecting my package from The Craft Barn to arrive in the next couple of weeks with the Croco paints. I will be champing at the bit until they arrive. Especially after seeing AngelNorth's work.

I had a thought while trying to get to sleep last night! I did blog this project so there's a complete list of materials used and a basic description of what I did here already if that's useful to you. If there's anything that could use more explanation, just shout!
I received my package of Croco Crackle paints on Friday. So it took ONE WEEK to arrive here in Canada from England. I am thrilled that it was uncomplicated. Didn't have to pay extra postage, wait 12 weeks, etc.I would definitely be ordering from The Craft Barn again.
I should have said I received most of my package, but I was notfied that they were out of one colour, so they are sending me a substitute colour (my choice) and that jar will most likely arrive on Monday- judging by the one week delivery for the rest of the stuff.
I tried out the crackle on a couple of things, and it sure DOES work. I'm glad I got a jar of the BASE paint, so I can use the Crackle on glass.
I haven't had much time to play with it yet-I will try and get some things done this week.
Yay, so glad your stuff arrived quickly Diana! My experience of sending to and from North America has usually been that it takes about a week but I didn't want to get your hopes up by saying that earlier! And there's always the issue that once a store has despatched something, it's basically out of their hands on how long it takes and an over-enthusiastic customs guy at your end can really mess up the wait time!
Funnily enough, one of the Craft Barn DT girls (Isabelle Norris) now lives in Canada so the store is probably more than used to shipping stuff over there!
I'll be really interested to hear how the crackle works out on glass with the base coat, I don't have any of that. Have fun playing, don't forget to show us what you made!
Another happy Susana's customer here. I bought several of the Pearl Pens, the Glass Effects and Paper Pens and they are wonderful! Her customer service is second to none and I will be ordering from her again, I'm sure. Pez-a-Doodle is an evil enabler :-)

And so is AngelNorth. heh heh:twisted:
I think I was also pleased that there was no duty- should I say that out loud?
After all I only ordered 4 jars- so it's not like I ordered the whole warehouse.
And the postage was a little less than ordering things from the States to Canada.
This next week is going to be playtime for me.
Diana
hee heeee! sorry gals but those viva products just ROCK! i have yet to pull out my croco yet but i have been OBSSESSED with the inka gold and i just did a few things with the 3d glitter paste this afternoon and they are drying.....
I got my pens and let me tell you...They are GREAT! I only wish I had ordered more so that I don't have to wait for them to arrive. lol. I have been showing all my crafty friends including a craft store I go to. I'm hoping they will start selling them soon. Very happy with this product!
I got mine from Susana's store as well, and she has a great selection and great service. I've bought quite a few, and haven't had any problems with any of them. I love using them as accents on my cards, and when you go back to them, you don't have to worry about them getting "plugged" up, or at least I haven't had that problem. They're so simple to use, and I love the look and ease to embellish. Be careful, you'll get hooked on them...
