Cherie, New Moon rocks! It is so good and I can't wait to see it again. I went to the 2:50 show this afternoon as a treat to myself. Two weeks ago, I gave my notice at my job of 15 years since I got offered a job closer to home. That one hour one way commute on a good day was wearing on me a lot recently. So today was my last day. They had lunch for me and then let me go early, so I decided since I had cried at work, my tear ducts were ready for New Moon. LOL You guys are gonna love it!!
Cindy, can't wait!! We're going to the 10am showing. Will pack all my drugs so I won't have a coughing attack, in the middle of one of those quiet-whisper-sweet-nothings-to-me scenes. - Would hate to miss anything Edward is telling me - I mean, Bella, yeah - telling Bella...
Morning everyone!
Cindy - you will love the new commute. I changed jobs 6 years ago from going down 95 to DC Beltway, crawled around that for a few miles. Now I am 5 miles from work, a very easy commute too. I would never go back to a job further away. I am glad your grandmother is doing ok and I know those decisions are never easy, especially for a loving family like yours seems to be.
Jeaneen - hope you're feeling better soon. Glad its nothing serious.
Kathi - glad Dusty is ok during storms. One less thing to worry about if you have to go out. BTW, love your new picture. Impicturing them running and playing with no pain and pure joy.
Have a great day everyone! Lots to get done today. Then again, maybe I'll join Toby on the couch and read some more.
I'm here...online at home...DH hooked me up so I can use dial-up...and...dial-up SUCKS! I can't upload any pics on my blog OR play FarmVille on Facebook without growing old...but at least I CAN keep up with you girls- and you have been quite chatty these past couple of days!
I think I'm going to call Broadstripe- that's who I have my cable with- and see about getting internet hookup, too. They have lots of good package deals right now. Right now I have a bundle with AOL for my DSL (from Verizon) but neither seem to be willing to find out what my problem is!
Cindy, congrats on the new job AND the shorter commute! Rose- congrats on the retirement. Kathi- glad Dusty is getting along well. Gloria, can't wait to see your card! Jeaneen, hope you're feeling better!
Hope you all are having a great day! I'll check in again later tonight...

MMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNN - can't believe it ended the way it did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sheesh!!!!! Was very good, though. Now that the fun has been had, off to clean and get ready for my all-day-crop tomorrow.
I had a busy day of shopping today and no luck finding the muffin tins. On my way home I stopped at WalMart for diapers and ran down the baking isle and guess what I found. Yup, $4.45 each. I was thrilled. Then I came home to a nice home cooked meal. It's so nice to have a good little man to take care of the kids and the house and make dinner
Hi everyone. Hope you're enjoying your weekend. I am.
I had a special day with my granddaughter Aislinn today. We went shopping for her Christmas dress, ate lunch out & shopped for a present for her to give to her sister for Christmas. Tomorrow Emma & I will have our special day together. I like to spend time with them individually now & then. Of course Nana will be worn out by tomorrow evening!

Paula, sounds like a great day. Have fun tomorrow too!
Paula, glad you had a fun day. I miss my gkids being little. Never thought I would say that about kids, but g'kids are different.
Have a good evening everyone. Back watching Bones.
Hey gang, just got home from Pasta Plus, always a treat.
Did you guys know they are doing a fundraiser on Monday for one of the waiters, he has throat cancer two kids ages 3 and 15 and a precious wife. We decided to just give a love offering while there since we won't be able to make it on Monday. There is an article in the Gazette about this as well.

Cindy, congrats on the new job! I know what you mean about the commute! My drive from Glen Burnie to Lanham everyday is the pits! I know you will have a lot less stress without all the traffic!
It's finally nice not to have to keep a secret any longer. It's been a rough couple of weeks. And for those that know about my grandmom, she's now in her new home and hopefully adjusting well. Mom will call up there tomorrow to see how she made out today/tonight. Mom said the transition went well, so that was good.
I'm so glad the transition went well for your grandmom. I'm sure it was a hard decision for your parents but also a huge relief for them.

Yay Mary, glad you are able to get on! You are right though, dial-up really sucks! I'm sure you will be able to get a good deal from Broadstripe and it will be even faster than DSL! You will love it!

That is so sweet Paula! I know it is a treat for each of the girls to spend time with you alone! My grandmother and I were very close and she used to take me shopping in downtown Baltimore each year at Christmas. We would take the bus and spend the whole day together, I always looked forward to it just being she and I! Have fun tomorrow with Emma!

That is so sad Loretta, I will keep him and his family in my prayers.

We love Pasta Plus! Haven't been there in a while though. Our DD (and many of her friends) worked there for 7 or more years, giving her spending money throughout high school and on college breaks. Sorry to hear of the waiter's cancer - do you know if he has been at PP a while - maybe dd knows him. I looked up the Gazette on line but couldn't find the article, also checked PP's website. If you do know, please PM me so I can share with DD.

Long commutes are the pits! I am such a brat - my commute is 3 miles... But I did my duty - years ago I lived in Severn and worked in downtown Silver Spring and in Bethesda at NIH. Yuck!
I get to have a fun stamping day today! My upline is doing a little class on the Sweet Treat Cups so I signed up to participate. We are doing 5 cards and they are all awesome, I can't wait! I'll try to post them tonight when I get home.

Yuck is right! I hate having to go to our Wheaton office for meetings, the beltway backs up so bad in the mornings you have to leave an extra hour ahead of time and pray you still make it on time! And forget trying to get to Bethesda!

My first job when we moved to Ft Meade had a home office in Alexandria, right on the water. If I left at 7:30 I would get to the office at 8:55. If I left at 8:17 (not a minute earlier) I got to the office at 9:05. Guess who opted to get in at 9:05 most days? We had meetings scheduled no earlier then 9:15 when I worked in the office. It was an educational tour company called Close Up. We brought high school kids in from around the country for a week of workshops and learning in DC. When I was out on program we were based out of hotels throughout the DC area, I worked mostly in Silver Springs and if I ever had to spend a week working at the hotel at 14th and K I would just move into the hotel for the week rather than commute. It meant that I was on-call if there were any problems through the night, but I would rather be woken up at 2am because some idiot kids were smoking in their room rather than drive through the city in the mornings.

I've got you beat! MY commute to work is only 1/2 mile one way! ;)

Sounds like fun! Can't wait to see what you make!!! Enjoy!
Hope every one is doing well. I have most of my house work done and will try to get some Christmas cards stamped. Hugs,
If you're still in the cleaning mood- you can always come to MY house to clean!! I'm sitting here thinking that if the cable guy comes next week to hook me up to internet service- he's gonna find LOTS of dust bunnies!! Housework is NOT on the top of my to-do list!
