MMTPT62: Rockin' with Zeke, Zena and the Zebroids!
Welcome to Teapot Tuesday and Challenge #62
Rockin' with Zeke, Zena and the Zebroids!
This is my story!
1. Well, girls our social calendar is getting quite difficult to schedule! I no more than get home, check a couple of e-mails and start scheduling the next trip! We have been invited to a rock concert in Africa! To summarize my newest e-mail, Mr. and Mrs. Zebralski are concerned about their son, Zeke! He has always aspired to be a rock star and is the lead singer in his own rock band, Zeke, Zena and the Zeebroids! Although they are proud their son is pursuing his dreams, like all normal parents, they are concerned (and embarrassed) about his outlandish new look!
2. Zeke is not unlike any young teenager, just wants to live his own life, make his own look, stand out in a crowd and forge ahead in the direction HE wants to go. After being influenced by David Lee Roth, KISS, Mick Jagger (specifically his pants), abd MC Hammer! He has come up with his own rock star trademark look, RED and black stripes, just like David Lee Roth's! Woot! (Hey, there is not alot you can do with black and white stripes, ya know!) Oh Zena!! Get over it, you will be in the lime-light once the concert starts!!
3. Well, the Zebralski's are paying for our airfare, tickets to the concert, and back stage passes after the concert which is where the best tea and treats in Africa will be served! Our job is to try to talk some sense into this teenager and get him back on the black and white (right) track! Just between you and me, I am not that thrilled at having to squash a teenager's dreams. So, here's my plan! Just bring your black and white! Zebras if you have them, skunks would work (snort!), panda bears (hey, it could happen in Africa!) penquins (I saw one in Colorado once!), mag-pies (What my friends told me I really saw in Colorado!) Bring anything black and white and WE'RE GOOD! I am a little worried that some other animals might show up to the concert like Lions, Monkeys, Elephants, Tigers (that's for MrsBoz!), Rhinos, exotic Snakes, etc. (you know, all that National Geographic stuff). If they do, no worries! There are no rules at this teaparty, I mean concert!
Special Note: If you bring a red and black striped zebra to the concert, then you have to come in the back door cuz that might push Mr. and Mrs. Zebralski off the edge! Snort!
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT62 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? I am posting a sneak peak (tea peak) on my blog each week showing you a glimpse of the following week's teapot as well as a hint of the story! It's at the end of the Teapot Tuesday Post each week. Be sneaky and get a jump on the other tea-potters! Snort!
If you are confused about these challenge, see Post #1 of this thread for more information as well as a directory to individual challenges within the thread!
I'll be back to come through the front door tomorrow.

I'll be coming with an appropriately dressed animal - but it will be late - we may have to take a separate plane from the rest of you - as I'm meeting jdmommy for dinner tonight (in real life!!!) I'm sure we will discuss this African Tea party however and possibly even develope a mutual plan?!?
I actually went on safari in Kenya with DH 10 years ago and have TONS of pictures (although they are prints - pre digital camera era {gasp!} - so I may just impress the pants off everyone and use a real zebra on my card! !!! and one of Kenya's major exports is their tea - and I can attest to the deliciousness of it!!

I made another - maybe Zeke will allow her to play an instrument at the concert. I would really appreciate it if anyone has an idea if this is an appropriate card.
Well I'm sneaking in here late again on Tuesday. I'll be back in the morning to comment and read all the stories. I was away last week and didn't get to do that and I don't want to miss out on the fun again!
This morning I stumbled onto your Teapot Tuesday thread. What fun! Loved your story about Zeke and immediately knew which paper and which template I wanted to use. Other commitments tore me away, but now my card is almost finished. Waitin for the glue to dry. Will post soon.
Meanwhile, I'm going back to look for more teapots...........
Absolutely not! You did not! I could not get on SCS this morning to check in on everything.....due to the server change....So I am here...catching up! Loved your awesome elephant card by the way!
Thank you to everyone who gave such nice compliments to Great Grandmother Ellie. She was very happy to know that you all liked her dress and her pearls.
Now, I hope I can find my way.... I am about to embark on another journey to Tiptoe Thru the Tulips and the Teapots making a new card as I find each of the pots along the tulip path. Since I am going backward down the path I may need to ask for a guide now and then...
Good morning, ladies! Wow, what a wonderful tea party gallery again this week. Your creations are so fun and inspiring!
I just wanted to send a quick note that I left a bunch of comments last night, only to discover that many of them didn't post. So I'll be back over the course of the next few days to leave them again.

I know what you mean, M. I received comments as per e-mail notification but none ever showed up on the cards. I left a bunch too and don't know if they ever went through.
So thank you if you left a nice word anyone I'm sure they will get all of the server kinks worked out shortly.

Name: Garnet J Parker
No: I was not born in January. Birthday is in July but Mom did not name me Ruby. My folks wanted a boy baby. Grandfather's name was Garret, so they just changed one letter.
Yes: When I was about 12 years old, I hated my name. Planned to change to Karen or Judy or Mary or...........
Yes: When I grew more mature I also grew to like my name.
Yes: Garnet is an unusual name. Sometimes a last name. Sometimes a guys name. I am a Missus.
Yes: people who see my name only in writing often get confused. Just this morning I got a phone call, "Is Mr. Parker available?" "No. Not unless you try dialing heaven." Actually, I did NOT say that.
Hee! Hee! And to think I pretty much racked my brain thinking of names that start with the letter J! Snort! I think Garnet is a way cool first name! We have something in common, when I was born (being the 3rd girl) my parents really wanted a boy too! They were pretty much convinced I was one....until of course I was born! They never even picked out a girls name for me....I was to be Jeffrey Clay. Well, surprise! And I became Cynthia Sue......at the last minute of course!!!
Had they done what your parents did, I would have been a Jessie or an Elmer! Jessie is a cute name but Elmer??? Yikes!!!! I think I am happy to be Cindy! Snort! Even Gertie is okay, that's the name of my altered ego! Hee!
Oh, crumb. I just spent a good deal of the evening working on my teaparty card and I almost wish I hadn't come back to read the thread again (as I am waiting for elements to dry).
MM, your comment about tulips stuck in my head. For some reason I thought there were tulips hidden above the lady bugs. Oops. I think I'm gonna' miss the mark again this week. Sigh. It's too late to start another one, so my card may be for a future tea party, but posted for this one. Yikes!
Back door for me again this week ... but then again, there sure was a lot of fun at the back door last week!
