You'd have to use low notes that are bigger diameter to stay straight and probably the used ones that are all stretched out would be the best.

Bob has a gig Saturday so I asked him to ask the guitar player and the bass player for their used strings. Probably won't get any that night because they should show up ready to work but maybe by the next gig they will have some.

On the 8th of March it's my turn to be the hostess at my stampers 10. Last time I made little holders that go on water bottles for crystal light and I decorated peppermint patties to look like snowmen by using punches.
Any ideas from you girls for this time?
The snack will be fresh fruit and yogurt parfaits.

If you're doing fresh fruit on a skewer you can decorate the tops of the skewers but if not you can use toothpicks instead of forks and decorate the tops of those. But they might be too short so you might still have to use bbq skewers and cut them down.

For the yogurt parfaits if everyone is mixing their own, you can make cute little labels for the ingredients....hmmm what else...

As I think of stuff (if I do) I'll let you know.

I've seen it done but have never done it so I might be wrong. You start at the outside end and using your scoring tool, curl the end a little so it's easier to work with. Start coiling it in towards the middle as tight as you can. When you near the middle, glue the bottom of the rose bud to the flat center piece. Then I guess you would just poke the skewer in or glue the skewer before you glue the rose bud down. Does that make sense? there's a tutorial on the SU demo site not sure if there's one on the customer site.

Hope this helps.

Me too! It's actually a video tutorial though so hopefully you can get on. It's for the table setting die and shows most of the uses for it. It's really cool. I don't think I can send you the link though since you'll need a password to get on. hopefully your demo is not too far away that you can scoot over and have a quick peek.

I have a thing against single use water bottles...... so I don't even think you should bring them... lol But if yuo're gonna then how about decorating with kraft colored bands with a reminder to recyle the bottle after using? I know, I'm such a hypocrite - since I use so much paper to stamp/scrap... but.... plastic has a bigger impact I think.

Bf went and bought a case of water and I gave him crap for it (I tell him he should buy a reusable water bottle) and he goes "oh yeah? how about all the paper you use?" and I told him they now plant 2 trees for every one they cut down... and he said "yeah - two trees that will take a hundred years to grow" .... and then I said "well, plastic takes a billion years to break down and if your burn it in a landfill it sends off nasty pollutants into the air".... but I'm still not sure I won the arguement.. lol!!!!!

I wouldn't have a clue how to do that rose either...

I don't normally buy bottled water but I have to get it to demonstrators house somehow. Can you imagine taking 15 glasses and my Britta there? Impractical. No way I'm spending $10 on each lady to buy them a stainless steel water bottle. Also impractical. Once decorated, I imagine that the girls will refill that bottle a few times before disposing of it.

Last night we went for a hike in the dark with flashlights (the crank kind so we don't fill the landfill with batteries). We found deer tracks a rabbit tracks. It was tons of fun and the squids went to sleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow.

What would be more impressive would be if you toted 15 full of water glasses there and left the pitcher at home! LOL

Did you make platster-of-paris thingy's out of the footprints?? That would be cool!
I have to admit, our flashlight has batteries.... =(

Boo Ladies!! I'm still alive, though barely at times! LOL
I've been so psycho busy, hate it!
And for some reason I stopped getting emails when there was an updated message here....
My nieces have been over every other weekend and as fun as they are....whew! And I was watching my friends 20 month old on Sundays....such an adorable age! Been trying to keep the condo tidy with kids around...I don't know how ppl do it! This place gets small really quick...I don't know how you manage Christyne!
Been really focused on work....whatever it takes to keep the Dragon Lady away! I dread the upcoming weeks since she will be losing 6 of her reports and will have time to focus so much more on the service businesses like mine! She will be going from 22 reports to 16.....how lucky I am, more time to torment and blow fire at ME! LOL  She won an award last week....for doing a great job on some project. Anyone can do a great job on something if they neglect their actual job! Hope her head doesn't inflate! That's all we need...a Dragon Lady with an inflated HEAD = more FIRE!
Sounds like you are all doing good......

Squids, cousin and I went to the AGO yesterday to beat the Guinness world's record for tutting. They will post on web site if we broke the record or not. Then we got to go to the King Tut display. It was cool!

Good morning everyone!

Are we suffering from Olympic withdrawl yet? No idea what I'm going to do with myself now...will probably have to clean house - UGH!!!

We didn't see the game yesterday, though I did get updates from one of my stamping friends and my mom. The kids were desperate to go to Vaughn Mills and I am SUCH a good mom...We "heard" the winning goal on the radio (FAN 590) on the way home and it was cool to see it in replay when we got home - what a wild time!!!

I taped the ceremonies, because we watch the Amazing Race on Sunday nights. I'll watch them this afternoon.

What's on tap for today?

I'm going to try and get some crafting done...some more purging too so I can fill up the box to come to Diana's for our triple "W" weekend. Teresa has dibs on any green stuff I find.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Yippee for me and green!

And guess what else?! Bob DOESN'T have a gig this weekend as he thought so I CAN sleep over now!!!! Lemon waffles all around!

WOOHOO!!!!! Teresa's IN. Teresa's IN!!! I'm so happy!

I'll go over the cards and set out some images that you can substitute the sentiments and greetings. Are you ok with Thank You's, Thinking About You, that sort of things? Just not occasions right?

I was thinking that we should do breakfast on Sunday morning...lol. I only thought as far as Saturday night. Ok, for those that are coming, can I get a show of hands....

So far I have:

Christyne
Janet
Michelle
Teresa (yay)
Karen (maybe just the Saturday but not sleeping over)

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

So if you ladies want to come any time after 3-4pm that would be perfect! I'll see if Jerry wants to take the kids to his parents' for the afternoon/evening and come back in time for them to sleep. lol...otherwise, he'll be on baby duty. I'll make dinner and if everyone can bring something for breakfast that would be great! Christyne, I request your waffle batter again! I tried to make it but it didn't taste right! Can you double it though since my boys can probably eat one whole batch all by themselves! lol.

Karen- if you're coming on the Saturday but not staying for Sunday, can I ask that you go to Costco a pick me up a pack of those yummy sausages?? Those were yummy...let me know how much they are. If you can't, no worries.

I'm so excited!!!!
