Well, I actually drove there, so that I could combine it with a visit to my family in Strathroy, which is only a 15 minute drive from Kilworth. I stopped at the store where my SIL works and had a little visit with her and then drove to the family farm and had a visit with my brother and SIL. Timed it perfectly so that I could stay for supper!
Sheila's store is fantastic! Way too much selection for me! the store is huge and she has it all! Stamps, papers, dies and embossing folders, everything one can imagine for scrapping and stamping! You'd just have to see it to believe it! The prices are not the lowest, but I bought lots of papers from the bargain table. My order came to $60 and then I spent another $65. Ouchhchhhh!
They have a garage sale on Saturday, Oct 17. Apparently at last year's garage sale, the ladies were lined up way into the parking lot before the store even opened in the morning! Ina- that garage sale sounds AMAZING but way too SCARY!!! I know how much I spend online browsing her store, I can't imagine actually being there. I have ZERO will power!!! Oh but I could just imagine all the goodies....but waiting in the parking lot? No thank you....I'm not that addicted yet (very close though).
Sounds like you had a great visit with your family. All in all, sounds like it was worth the drive! :-D

I did catch the family visit.
Yeah, I don't know.. I am a bit too far away from her I think to make that kind of trip just to go to a store. But I'd do it if I had someone to visit too.
OOOOOH Garage sale! That sounds like bargoons galore! I love those things.. though i've never bought much at those places.. but I have sold alot before. |

I think this garage sale would be tough, because it sounds like they have a lot of people coming in, so it would be hard to actually browse over the bargains. Even though the store is big, I can't imagine finding much, if there were 50 ladies all looking for bargains. I know that I spent a long time over the bargain table of papers yesterday, and it wouldn't have been any fun if even 4 other ladies were grabbing at those boxes at the same time. I think I'll pass!

Hmm... one big happy garage sale would be good..... say if you set up one that wasn't connected to a shop.
The ones I have been involved with haven't been that busy (this was back home) and people were pretty good.. there weren't any "incidents" LOL

Ha. ha. Karen. The word 'incidents' brought some funny pictures to my mind........you and me fighting over some fantastic paper, then Diana and Teresa getting in the mix too, and all we would have is shredded paper on the ground and the police coming to 'cool' us down!

hehe.. well, I can be aggressive.
I've really become too much of a softie in the past couple of years. (its mainly due to a lack of confidence at work)... anyways, that's a long story for another time.

A swap is what I was thinking of after I posted about the garage sale. If we actually have stuff that we just want to get rid of then why don't we have a swap? The leftovers we can donate somewhere.
The congregation I'm in here had a clothing swap at someones house. We all brought our stuff and swapped. You didn't know whose stuff you had. What was left over went to missionaries or an old age home or...I dunno somewhere out of my closet where it was taking up valuable real-estate. |

I will tell you if you're hoarding too~ But I don't promise to be kind.. hahahaha....
bf and I have to go and close up the cottage ~ we haven't been there for two months! We usually go every weekend until the shut the water off which is around the end of October. Was there for my bday last year ~ but we've been so busy that we haven't had the chance.... LOTS of cleaning up there to do... I can't imagine what the place looks like right now!!

I'm game if you are! It's next weekend and that's our weekend off, unless you do something foolish like picking up some extra shifts for overtime! Have you been to her new store location? It's so easy to find.
