Where is everyone? Shopping?? I guess I'd better go fold two+ weeks of clean laundry since DH can't find a t-shirt he bought on our Nov. trip and start making Christmas cookies (yes, I'm actually going to bake after not doing so for years!).

I was in the shower.... and, I forgot my phone this morning (with your number in it) We were leaving Rome at 10:10 am and she wasn't open yet :( I was riding with DH and we had to get home for baseball practice. We won't be going back until 4 pm, and she'll be closed again by then. Hope the cookies are going well!

I was in the shower.... and, I forgot my phone this morning (with your number in it) We were leaving Rome at 10:10 am and she wasn't open yet :( I was riding with DH and we had to get home for baseball practice. We won't be going back until 4 pm, and she'll be closed again by then. Hope the cookies are going well!
No problem...didn't want to get out of my comfty nightclothes to go out in the cold AND you've saved me money!! If I don't fall asleep and after I wash the cake pan, I'll do my second batch which will give me 3 doz. cookies and I'll be done with what I need to make! Easy peasy!
I think we just set a world's record for real Christmas tree getting. From the time we walked out our door to the time we had the tree cutdown and in the stand in the livingroom was under 1/2 hour! We planted a couple dozen blue spruce sapplings to be used as Christmas trees when we bought our property 16 years ago, and we've been harvesting them for the past 5 or 6 years. We have to wait until tomorrow evening to decorate it though because DD is working tonight and tomorrow morning. DH and I are suppose to go out for our anniversary dinner tomorrow (I can't believe it's been 24 years!), so hopefully after that we'll dig out the boxes and make it all pretty. Today's weather is perfect for all kinds of Christmas preparations, so I hope everyone gets a lot accomplished. Have fun!

I'm not old and I know Tony for 30 years but we've only been married for 25.
Hope everyone has a fun weekend - although I'm not looking forward to going out in the cold tomorrow I am looking forward to spending time with Jeanette (I'm meeting her at a mall). And I really hope I get the last of Tony's gifts (some of which will be inspired by window shopping).
Tony's trying a new cookie recipe (he's in the kitchen); I printed it from Marco's Paper's blog awhile ago because they use Andes mints (one of my favorites and it will bring back fond memories of when my late MIL always had a box or two at every holiday dinner.)
Still need more cards but don't really feel like doing any but I'll try. I liked crafting much better when I didn't have to constantly clear off my work surface (i.e. D/R table instead of stamping table). But my JetMax cubes make it easier because I can put lots of stuff in them (but they are not really organized because I haven't had time/space to collect all of a particular "like" item and decide where it gets stored.) That will have to wait until January (oooh ... another reason to not look for a job ;))
I'll be out most of the day on TUE with my FIL (dr appt, dropping off gifts for staff of a different doctor, and eating lunch which entails commentary on either how much or how little I ate; he's taken the fun out of eating out.) And it will probably be repeated once a week for 5-6 weeks (minus the dropping off of gifts.)
I think I better do some stamping (gotta cruise the gallery first!) and get to bed early so I can (hopefully) be up early and get to the mall early enough tomorrow to avoid driving around for a parkign space.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes everyone. The actual day is tomorrow, the 14th, but lfe is getting in the way, so we are celebrating today. My older brother's bday is today, and we actually threw a surprise 25th bday party for him at our rehearsal dinner. My sister in law's (actually ex now for a month or so, but will hopefully still always be a friend) bday is the 15th. Then there are 2 nephew's bdays on the 1st and 2nd, my dad's on the 6th, another nephew on Christmas day, and a close cousin's on the 29th. December is a busy month around my house!
I had to read your post twice because first I thought you had a brother who was 25. That'd make him 8 months younger than my son, which made me feel old and I don't need any extra help in that regard. (Just ask TOD. Where's she been lately, anyhow?)
But then, I realized that you celebrated his 25th 24 years ago. Whew!

DH has to make 13 dozen cookies today for a cookie swap tomorrow. He is making a cookie with chocolate dough, white choc chips, and cranberries. It is a trial-and-error copy of cookies we had at tea time at the Mohonk Mountain House before Janneke was born. Yummy!! The prize for him, of course, is that I bring home 13 dozen varieties of cookies to him.

The cookies came out fantastic!!!!! We are already thinking of variations (butterscotch chips instead of Andes Candes and white chocolate/raspberry are the toprunners!)

Yucky driving weather this afternoon...slushy in places...saw a few cars off the road...thankfully just rainy around our house.
Guess I could start going through cards I've made during the year to put together sets for gifts...pull a few birthday cards that need to go out this week.
DH says he's feeling achey...uh oh!!!
Zekey is staying home and the neighbor will watch her while we're away. The vet was booked up for holiday boarding so I'll get her teeth cleaned/lump removed in January.
