Default back to school..

I'm looking for back to school stamps or cards made.

I will be making cards to sending "Welcome to my class" cards to my preschoolers, and I'm looking for ideas...

Do you have a class theme? I teach 4 year olds. This year I am doing Western in my room. I am making cards using the SU Cowboy Kid to send to the children to welcome them to the class.

I actually bought store bought ones, as they were super duper cute. They had a bunch of kids on the front in all different nationalities and then said "hello" in all sorts of languages. i love them. and i think they were 2.99 for 50. i much rather buy them and take my time writing them welcome notes as that usually takes quite a few hours to do alone

I saw this card in the gallery the other day and thought is was perfect for a school card. I am planning on making variations of this for my dgs, one who starts kindergarten this year and the other starts preschool:

I also saved another one, but would take more time to make:

I teach third grade and my classroom is totally decked out with monkeys. I don't stamp my welcome postcards, but I do stamp my welcome bags that are sitting on the kids' desks on the first day. Here's the bag I've done the last few years... Monkey Bag. I fill the bags with monkey pencils, monkey things from Oriental Trading, and a healthy snack for the first day of school.

For me, I create bags instead of postcards because I think they are super fast and I don't feel so bad when they end up in the trash. I used to stamp all sorts of things for my students (thank you's, bookmarks), only to see them on the floor, shoved into desks, in the trash can 3 months later when we do a desk clean out, etc. I don't stamp for my students anymore!

Do you have a classroom theme that you could incorporate into your stamped item?

Thanks for all of the help ladies! I think this is a great discussion. I would love to see what any other teachers out there stamp for their students.

I haven't picked a theme, and that may be my hang-up. I teach a small class of busy, little two year olds (quite a switch from the 5th graders I am more familiar with).

I totally get not stamping for your kids when your wonderful creations end up on the floor or in the trash. And I know that my little two year old will not appreciate my effort; so more or less, I am stamping for the parents (who may or may not scrapbook or even care).

Last year when my 3yo son got his "Welcome" postcard in the mail from his preschool teacher, you would have thought he won the lottery. It stayed on his bedside table for several months, and he would take it down and "read" it. So precious.

So.. what you do have planned for your class??
