MUST check out their downloads. They are part of a UK company called Charmed Cards and Crafts. They will sell you the downloads if you're in the US; I think you need a paypal acct. They are beyond awesome and have so many designs; the best part is it is VERY cost effective. I bought almost everyone! when I saw them. You will LOVE the Holly & Madison and the Girls about Town downloads. Have used Walmart cardstock with regular printer and Copics DO NOT run when printed. You can size it, reverse it; it's awesome.

Meeeee *waves hands in the air* I looooove digital stamps. I'm a WANT IT RIGHT THIS SECOND kinda girl, so digi stamps kinda satisfy that in me...LOL....I loooove Dustin Pike's stuff and I download quite a bit from Squigglefly and recently I've started using Marti's new digital stamps from pezadoodle.com.

I love how a lot of the companies are starting to come out with digital stamps along with their regular rubber stamps...I guess I'm equal opportunity...digital, rubber..I'll buy them all! *giggles*

I am a fan of digi stamps! I live in Australia and find all these cute stamps from stores all around the world but then I check the price of postage  Usually around $8 to $15 add that to the price of the stamp. Who really wants to pay up to $30 for one stamp.
So I love my digi stamps - here are some places I recommend -

Pink Petticoat
The Greeting Farm (I love the Unicorn!)
One place that offers free digi stamp downloads every month is...
Two Scoops Rice Designs (Too Cute!!)
Other places I have seen recommended here and will hopefully purchase are...
Digital Stamp Oasis
Squigglefly
All That Scraps

I will never stop using Stamps though ;)
Thx for all the great links

Thanks Judi, I found them too. At first I thought they already came colored, but then I read you get them both ways. That is pretty awesome.

I never thought I would use digi stamps and then I saw this
card and thought wow!, I want those. And immediate gratification in receiving them is the best.

There a new store just opened up called the digi shack - they've got a freebie on their blog, and their prices are really good. Some really really cute images too!

Interesting discussion. Long ago, we actually took a couple dover books and had rubber stamps made. Today, I use my Dover clipart to create brushes in Photoshop which are essentially the same idea. I digi scrap, and hybrid scrap, so love both worlds. It's actually been hard to go back to stamping not being able to manuipulate my "stamps" the way I can when I do digi cards or pages. No big deal though.

Jamie - I was just wondering if you know if Dover will let us sell our cards/projects for profit.

Although there are restrictions, I believe the answer is yes. Reading the copyright notice, you can't use more than ten items in one project. You can write them to get further permissions or clarification. I know a lot of stamps and designer stuff has been created using Dover clip-art.

I just got hooked on digi stamps and I have already gotten images from dustin pike, the greeting farm, and charmed cards. Whether it is rubber, clip art or "digi stamps" Its all just ink on paper. It is what you do with it once it is on the paper that counts. Here is my first and it definitely won't be my last.

The "rubber room" LOL! That's too funny...

Chiming in that I've been trying out digital stamps from many companies and am so pleased with the quality and results you get. Just LOVE the instant gratification and you don't even have to drive to a craft store! Fabulous. I especially love Digital Stamp Oasis, Dustin Pike, Greeting Farm and CC Designs.

I'll be checking out all the other fab sites listed! Thanks!

I really love my digital images, but I also love my real stamps. What I really like about digital images that you resize them and mirror them if you want to. I am very lucky that my printer doesn't smear at all.

These two ladies also have really beautiful digital images:

I downloaded my first digi image this week. Talk about instant gratification! WOW!
That's what is so great about them to me. I will definitely be getting more!

I just love cute images--whether rubber, clear acrylic, or digital--I don't think it really matters what the medium is as long as you love the image. If you love it, use it!!

I bought another digi stamp today. They automatically come up in my windows fax viewer. When I click at the bottom to edit, it then comes up in "paint". So I tried to resize it by clicking "attributes" and typing in the new size. Nothing happened so I clicked "save" to save the new size. Then it cut off part of the image and now it's saved that way!! Arrgghh!!

Is there anyway to get back the original? When I go to the folder where the original was saved, it comes up in windows fax viewer as the cut off image.

Thanks for any help!

Was your original digi-stamp download a ZIP file? And you unzipped it and were working with one of the individual images in the unzipped folder? In that case, you can go back to the original ZIP file, copy it to a new folder, and unzip it again. That will give you another set of all of the original files.

But if it wasn't a ZIP, I don't know how you can recover the original image file after overwriting it.

Not a fan of digi stamps, they really do remind me of clip art or coloring books from when I was a kid. I like to physically "stamp" images myself. I guess like the verb part of "stamp" not just the noun.

However, I do like digi PAPER for scrapbooking. I like the idea of being able to print out an endless supply of a DP (copyright permitting of course) to use in cards or for hybrid scrapbooking, I like to add my own handwriting and other physical 3D embellishments to digitally prepared pages.

Just my 2 cents.

Hi girls!! I see some familiar faces here!
I too love digis, it's easier for me to keep them stored in one place. For those new to Dustin Pike, he gives away a free digi every Wednesday but his real digis are soooo worth purchasing. If you are already a Dustin Pike fan, come visit my blog tomorrow for something pretty cool!! (And no, you don't have to become a follower of mine or anything, this is just an invite. ;))
Modern Sugar blvd. is also a digi site that I am a DT for, as well as The Digi Shack, both are coming out with great stuff in May. Right now Katie from Paper Makeup Stamps and Candie from MSBlvd. designed a stamp to benefit a little baby named Kayleigh who was born premature. They are both digis, $3 each, and all proceeds go to the young family to help medical costs.
Right now Jessica Lynn Originals is giving away one of her Brentwood owls to the first 200 guests to request him. He's adorable! His shirt says "I love ___" and you get to fill in the blanks. Make sure you link him up back to her blog so she can see what you've created.

It's funny how things come and go...about 15 years ago I was buying CDs (well, they were the tiny hard floppy disks back then!) from DJ Inkers with all of their cute images because I figured it was cheaper than buying 3-4 stamps from them.

Those have since been collecting dust once I actually did buy stamps and perhaps my tastes changed too. But I may dig them out to use again since I have 4-5 of them.

Hey all, I first have to say that I LOVE hand stamping, there's no denying the fun of it, however, I really like the options of digital stamps. So much so, that my graphic designer neighbour and I have been making them! I thought it would be cool to be making some .svg files for use with my Cricut and then realized some of the things she could do (and I bought copics, but didn't have any cool stamps to colour!)... and well, The Character Cafe was born!
I do have luck in heat setting my images, but I still don't colour right over the black ink... I have heard that laser jets don't smear... I also heard you can buy ink jet sealer spray, but I haven't gone looking for this yet.

The thing I would LOVE to find out is which of our stamps to have made into rubber. That is something we wished to determine by selling our stuff digitally. We wanted to see what people liked so we knew what to manufacture as stamps first or what wasn't really worth it. All I can say is that it's hard to get honest opinions and we haven't been around long enough to know by sales!!!!

If any of you stamping gurus would like to pm me with any honest criticism on our work, I would sooooo appreciate it. We want to be around for the long haul as we're having so much fun doing this and have ideas to last for years it seems (just not enough hours in the day as you all know!). The hardest part is designing AND trying to run the internet parts... we need a design team I think!

Anyway... I'm all for digital stamps (saves waiting for your stamps to come in the mail), but I do agree that there's no replacing rubber (gotta love embossing and I haven't figured out how to with a digi stamp)...

Happy crafting
Kendra

I'd just like to say that those of you who are having problems with your ink smearing. First try heat setting your ink with your heat gun. If you still get smears, lightly spray the image with a workable fixative or aeorsol hairspray and then you can color with anything; even water colors.
Also, the difference in digital stamps and clip art is that digital stamps are made at a much higher dpi which lets the image stay crisp when re-sized. Clip art doesn't maintain it's crispness and that's why you get poor quality.

I love the digi stamps! I use my copics with them, since the ink from my inkjet does smear when I watercolour. I think since the copics are alcohol based not water based that makes difference.
I like that I can resize them, and also it my wrists don't get so sore from the stamping--I have a lot of trouble with the rubber stamps getting them just perfect, and with this it comes out perfect.
It's still art, since you are selecting the size, colouring it in, putting it together, you are just printing instead of using a wood or acrylic block mounted thing to get the image on the paper.
