Default What are your favorite patriotic stamps?

My dh will be deploying to Iraq in a couple weeks. I'm looking for some good stamp sets to use to make cards for him, his troops and thank yous for people who are helping us out. I'm also hoping to make a scrapbook for him, so I'm really looking for some versatile sets. (I'm still not sure how I'll find the time to do this... )

What do you suggest? I'd love to see your faves. Thanks!

Check the SU Gallery for "Free & the Brave, The" - I bought it last year and so glad to see it back in the catalog! It's item 114962 for $21.95 (4 stamps).

I bought a set that has the Navy Seal plus a few other images at Micheal's. four of the Five Branches you can get there( every body seems to forget about the poor Coast Guard), and I have a couple of websites that specialize in Military themed stuff that I get papers and embellies from.

the thing I don't like about Free and the Brave is that it's NOT a Sailor and even though my NArmy husband is currently IN ACUs( he's deployed right now as an IA) I wish there were more of the other Branches immortalized in stamps. my current Favs are a couple of House Mouse designs: Patriotic Wrap and Glorious Feeling. both are branch neutral and just feature the Flag so they go with just about anything..thank yous, get well/Operation Quiet Comfort and Thinking of you cards.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been thinking about the SU set. It's on my "maybe' list. I love the house mouse stamps, too--they're always fun.

Anyone else?

Don't tell anyone that I am referring you to non-SU stamps but you really need to check out the military sets at

Well, this is more Fourth of July rather than patriotism. I just love this Serendipity image though.

I was looking at someone's blog a day or so ago. There was an assortment of notecards designed for someone assigned to Iraq to use...nice idea. Sorry that I can't remember whose.
