I looked through the threads, but is there a link to the SAB catalog? I am have Stamp Club next week, but the order is not going in until 2/1 and I want to pick out my SAB set(s).
I was thinking the same thing about not loving any of them. Last year I spent enough and had a party so that I got all of them! This year? Who knows? I also find that sometimes I get caught up in the sale a bration frenzy and then when the stamp sets come I wonder what I was thinking!
Your comment about ebay reminds me that there are always tons of them listed and usually not too expensive.
I really would prefer a deal like if you spend $50, you get a $10 credit towards any catty item. The only SAB set I still own is Very Punny...I haven't kept any of the others in the past few years. I think it would be easier and cheaper for SU too, since they are manufacturing more sets, and sending out the SAB flyers, etc.

As people on SCS have said many times, it is too bad the execs at SU don't read these threads! I love your idea about a $10 credit and since there isn't really anything in the catty for $10, you would end up spending more and SU would get a bigger sale.

I guess I'll be the odd duck, I like everything except the botanical set. I love, love, love that they are offering consumables for free. I can always use more ribbon.
I want to third the idea of getting a $10 credit though. That's a WONDERFUL idea.
I agree. Flowers, flowers, flowers. Do the consumers who work and coach Stampin Up on their 'Advisory Board' chant flowers? When will the flowers stop??
Are they running out of ideas!! These sets are boring!! Guess words always come in useful and ribbon and DP. Honestly its cheaper to spend less and then choose the ribbon and DP that you actually want from the catalog. I don't mean to sound cynical. I actually love SU and everything they stand for but I have become disillusioned lately - too many flowers and simple "line" drawings!!

I agree - nix the botanicals set. I think the card stock and ribbon are very pretty.
Thanks for posting the link!! I could probably use the Congrats set, and always enjoy ribbon. None of the other sets were that impressive. And its kind of disappointing that none of the sets in SAB have a similar style as some of the new gorgeous sets in the catalog. More of the same old thing.
Rats. I don't like any of them either. I agree. I never used to even look at other companies' stamps but I've been doing that a lot more lately. SU's paper has been getting nicer but their stamps are getting to be all the same. Nothing really special any more. I would love more nature and animal stamps. I agree with the flowers - enough already!!
I love the papers and ribbons this time - and with the papers there are 16 sheets of 12x12 in that pack which makes it a fab choice...
And as for flowers...well, I only see one floral set in the SAB mini - the punch one has a couple of flowers in it to punch out but these will be fab for using with a paper piercing tool so I have my eye on that set for sure...and the Congrats one I am loving - sentiments for 6 different occasions in one free set - and the font is a great simple modern print...
If you're not sure about these sets, wait until you see some of the ideas demos have been coming up with - there are some fab ideas you will soon be seeing in the gallery :-)
I love ALL the SAB offerings this year. I have a ~$600 order just waiting for the moula to hit the account so that I can place it.
And don't forget, if you host a $300 workshop, you get another free SAB gift as the hostess. :-D
The So Saffron/Bashful Blue combo is so soft and pretty and just screams SPRING!!!! to me. Mix in the Almost Ametheyst and Certainly Celery and it's just a beautiful Easter combo.
I'll be ordering multiples of the ribbon and paper to make my Easter cards.
Give it a second look. I think you'll like it more. ;)
I AM GETTING ALL THE SETS PLUS GOING TO TRY FOR DUPLICATES IN THE RIBBON AND PAPER! oops sorry for shouting but I am so excited about the SAB selection this time!!
Shoot, I am LOVIN' the paper and ribbon! One of the stamp sets I'm not super crazy about, but I am so glad SAB goes for two months, so I'll be able to get at least one of everything! You know I'll be stockin' up on the ribbon, though. Boo-yah!

I totally agree! I wasn't excited about any of them - until I started seeing some awesome creations!
Personally, I don't love any. I might use the ribbon...but the sets bore me.
I'll just take them for free with my order and put them on Ebay.
Don't flame me...I am not bound by SU rules.
Actually, I'm not sure how it all works, but I have heard that EVERYONE is bound by the SU! rules, not just demos.
As for the SAB items, I'm thrilled w/ the offering of DSP and ribbon as freebies, but do love the idea of $10 credit w/ $50 order. However, as for sending out catalogs being an expense for SU - demos pay for the catalogs whether they hand them out or mail them to their customers, so I'm not sure it would be an actual savings for them. Guess they want it to be something time limited and exclusive that can only be gotten with the order rather than items that can be purchased.
I am lovin' the new Yummy SAB set. I love to give sweet treats to people, and this set will be perfect for that. I can see this set working well for cello treat bags with toppers. They work well for many holiday treats, goodie bags, kids' classroom parties, gifts for coworkers, etc.
I also will be getting the DSP, ribbon, and the congrats set.

What do you mean by this? I think everyone has the right to express their opinion regarding Stampin' Up, even demonstrators.
I have to admit, I have not been as excited about the SAB sets this year as I have in years past, but I do like the Polka Dot Punches set. This is the only one I preordered, so when I get the others and start working with them, I will probably like them as well.
I did a card using the Polka Dot Punches set for one of the challenges last week that you can see in my gallery, it's the first card there.

I think she's talking about the SU rule of not selling current stamp sets on e bay, which only demos have to follow. Non demos can sell current sets, they don't have to wait for a retirement to do it.
Everyone is supposed to follow the rule of using an angel stamp on stamped items they sell as craft shows though.

I'm liking all the SAB sets this year, other years I haven't, so it's just a personal taste thing. I really like that there's ribbon and paper for people who earn more than 6 free things - who needs 2 of the same set? Not me, but paper and ribbon can always be used up.

I'm definitely liking pretty much everything. And with ribbon being one of the options I'm all over it. Why buy ribbon when i can get more stamps and punches and get ribbon for free? Plus, I look at it this way.....I'm going to spend the $50 anyway so the free item is just a bonus.

Ok, yes I see what you're saying, I totally misread that.
I think once you collect a lot of stamp sets it is hard to get as excited as when you had very few. But that said, I didn't like the paper until I saw some cards made with it, and it is VERY cute IRL. Ditto the ribbon. I thought the colors a little bland and blah, then I saw someone's project and decided I HAVE to have it! I like that botanical set at the end, and sayings are always handy. Hmmmm, what does that leave? Oh! My favorite! Yummy! I know this is my first pick! I give food gifts a lot and it is sized and shaped to go with the Top Note Die, which I have and love! So while my first reaction was "meh" now I am psyched and can't wait for Feb 1st to place my order! I will get three of these free! I think I will get Yummy, the paper, and the ribbon.

I originally posted that I can post the link to the SAB catalog because I am not a demo. Demos are not supposed to post the link until Feb 1.
The poster said that EVERYONE had to follow that rule.
I did not agree to hold any secrets for Stampin' Up, so therefore I broke no agreement or *rule* upon me.
If SU REALLY didn't want it released until Feb 1, they wouldn't have posted it publicly online until then....it would have been in a demo-secure site.
