Does anyone know if the Neenah Classic Crest paper is availabile in Canada and more specifically in Manitoba?
Also, for all the copic sketch lovers out there (and I KNOW there are lots of us) I have snagged some great deals on ebay. I just purchased 36 sketch markers (got to select the colors I wanted) and after shipping and exchange it worked out to $3.58 (Can $) per marker!!! The other deal was for 8 markers at $4.76(Can $) each.
There is a craft store about two hours away from where we live with a limited supply of the sketch markers and after tax the price works out to $10.07 per marker - OUCH! I did purchase my first 2 markers here.
I also ordered from Creative Play Stamps (Super Duper customer service!) and had the markers shipped to my niece who is in college in North Dakota (free US shipping) and after exchange and the coupon, the price per marker was $4.92.
So, in the past week my marker collection has grown from a whopping 5 to 61.....if my Grade One teacher could see my coloring now she would be sooooooo pleased!

I am excite too, I am in the one in South Carolina this weekend.
On another note, has anyone else had a marker barrel split before? I have a marker that is only a couple of months old and it has split. I didn't notice it when I got it, and I am not rough on my things and am the only one that has used this marker. Just curious if anyone else has had that problem.

Somewhere in this thread is a list of the HL copics that they carry. They carry 72 different ones.
I will look for it.

I'm jealous that you're already going this weekend. I still have 4 weeks.
Nope, I haven't had that problem with any of mine. That stinks that it's a few months old because they probably won't take it back. Did you buy it local or online?

I bought it online. I may try and see if they will exchange it. It is the only one I have ever had a problem with and I have been slowly building my collection for about two years now.
I am excited about the weekend--my mom and I are making a long weekend out of it. My hubby and dad both have to work so we are headed out, just the two of us. Then we will stay at my mom's until Thanksgiving before heading back home to Nashville.

and another question. Why will Stazon or SU inks stain the nib of the copic marker?
Why isnt the Copic marker nib stained by other colors you use to shade/blend with? or is it.

I can't answer your question about where to get them locally in Utah, but I can answer this for you.
Copic markers are an alcohol ink marker. StazOn ink is a solvent ink. Since they are both solvents, they react with each other... and that is why you don't want to use StazOn or any other solvent type ink with your Copics. It will make a smeary mess and yes, it will stain your nibs.
Typically dye inks work with Copics (and SU ink is a dye ink)... but some work better than others and some don't work at all. It depends on the paper you use too...
I always suggest that you "test" your inks and papers to make sure they are compatible with your markers. Many people have success with Memento inks and Ranger Adirondack Inks... but there are lots of other options out there.
To test your ink... stamp a small image with the ink (make sure you label what type of ink you used). Let it dry, and then rub a light color marker or the colorless blender over the stamped ink and see if it smears.
Hope that helps.

Hey ladies-I just wanted to drop a quick note about HL copics. I just bought a bunch, and unfortunately am going to have to take about half of them back. I wasn't paying complete attention, as I was deciding on which to buy, and the caps have been switched around. Which is a pretty big deal considering I paid the extra to have the number on the cap- totally my fault, still frustrating. Watch those caps ladies

This happened to me too... and unfortunately HL wouldn't take them back. Don't know if it was just my store here or all over... said they didn't do returns on markers... I was NOT very happy.

Price Increase :(
Bummer! I just checked Carpe Diem store for prices. I've bought from them in the past, $4.25 per marker (sketch) with free shipping on orders of $80 or more.
All of a sudden, their price is $4.87 per marker with free shipping on orders of $100 or more. They usually have all the colors in stock.
Looks like I'm going to have to look for a new source to buy from.

I've had trouble before with H.L. returning/exchanging markers. The manager is not very nice which really surprised me.

Well, I suppose I'll find out today when I try to exchange them. It doesn't say anywhere on their return policy that they're excluded, and I'm that kind of person to *sweetly* complain, all the way up to corporate if need be. I mean, if they say that they could have been used, they need to look at their display, where all of these people have "tested" the markers- they're used when we buy them, and more than likely by people that don't know/care to not smash down the nib. Why don't retailers stand by their products?

Have you tried www.oozak.com. They don't always have all of them in stock, but they usually have a good price on them.

I'm not from Utah, but in our state, most of the copic run about $6.00 for retail, each. I have the best luck, using the online site listed here, also and are usually here within a week,
Always, looking for the free shipping to save cost

Thanks for the tip. I've looked at their site before, and they were out of most of the colors. This time they seem to have most of them in stock.

This is a major problem. Please send me back the pen and I will pass it on to the manufacturer. It takes a lot of abuse for a pen barrel to crack (like stepping on the marker) so please send me a PM and I'll solve the problem.

Hmmm, that's weird I see their free shipping limit has gone up but their on sale for 3.95.
Speaking of sales dickblick.com has a 65 dollar off coupon for orders 200+
So even if you ordered 42 markers at 4.87 it comes to 204.54
With the 65 dollar off coupon they come to 139.54
Which is roughly 3.33 per marker. Not bad at all!
 I shop with math.

Love it! Wow! That's such a good deal. I may have to consider that. I need to go through my list and look at Marianne's blog to see which ones I still need to get even though I have about 125 already.

This is due to Copic's MAP pricing policy. No retailer is allowed to sell Sketches for less than $4.87 and Ciaos for less than $3.22. If they do, they are in violation of Copic's retailer policy and their orders will not be filled.
This is why so many stores have had to increase their prices. Those that haven't will have to or will not be allowed to sell Copics.

Go now! They are 3.95 at Carpe Diem right now. I am not sure when the sale ends though. Can anyone tell when it ends? It's making me want to add some grays to my collection.

Better hurry - if Copic contacts them about being in violation before your order ships, you may not get them!

Hi all, very new to copic markers here, got my first batch a couple of weeks ago and up to 33 mrkers now. I live in Ireland and it's the Ciao ones we can get easily here.
I'm just wondering if there's anyone here from the UK or Ireland has a local supplier for Gina K or the neenah card. Tried googling both for a supplier this side of the atlantic but no joy. I'm using a letraset marker pad which is quite good but it's very thin paper so not the best, I'd prefer a heavier weight.
Loved reading this forum this a.m.!

To my knowledge Gina K paper is only available through Gina K. I am not sure about international shipping but her customer service is outstanding, so try e-mailing to see: [email protected]

Want to trade:
Like many others here, I am new to copics.......and recently I committed the worsest sin a copic user can ----I bought without a list or color chart to look at.....as a result, I now have two brand new E02 and YR00 Sketch markers and really only need one. If you also have duplicates in your collection,, shoot me a PM and perhaps we can work out a trade. Thanks.

I know what you mean! I have 82 sketch markers now and I am happy with what I have. I have not wished for another tone, something darker or lighter, I may have met my mark. Well until I see a great image colored with colors that I don't have and I will need them NOW!

Yep!! I know exactly what you mean. When I bought mine, I went with the Ciao and bought ALL of them. I found a great deal on eBay and just had to do it. After having them for nearly 6 months, I find myself wishing for some of the Sketch markers.
