Saw lawyer today, can go either way. This makes me sick, a year of college could be paid for in what both sides have spent on lawyers. So sad, I have always tried to put personal feelings aside, and do what's best for the kids.

Well, got to get in the scrap room, but not for the usual reasons. This will be shown in court. Ex dil has contended that the grandson's sports interferes too much with her visitation time, and is taking us to court for us to stop signing them up. And if we don't, she is petitioning for custody.
The games people play in the name of love for their children. So, I am going to make a gorgeous scrapbook with all their seasons of sports. Got to make this look good, on the premise it must be very important to them to do this.
I get so sick of stupid people.
Off to start cropping pictures.
WOW the nerve!!!
She could, I dont know, come to watch him at the games couldn't she??????
Yes, the mother could, but I have been told "it's too much trouble". Most of their sports are on Saturday morning. I think some grandmothers should be in charge of family court. No one is there to protect the kids, just a bunch of lawyers making money, judges doing a poor job. It is just sad.

Those are cute!!! When I start making mine......have until October, 2014 I will post here. In the mean time I will photograph my sewing items and place here.
Well, court was interesting. Got to see several cases before ours, and saw a baby being adopted. Our case was settled in a back room, both parents will try harder, and we agreed to waive the money ( several thousand) owed to us if she would make the effort to bring them to their sporting events.
My grandsons will be home in their own beds tonight, where they SHOULD be.
Okay, now I can concentrate on spring.

Any ideas for end of school gifts for teachers? I baked cookies, and made card sets, put in Easter baskets. Need another idea, want it to be something I can make. The teachers just rave about all the handmade items they get.
The end of May will be here soon.

My son's teachers came up to me at the end of 5th grade to tell me they were sad that he was going to middle school because that meant they weren't getting anymore of my crafty gifts (I did small gifts for ALL the teachers in the school and bigger gifts for his immediate teachers). It was an awwww moment for me. Now he's "too cool" to be giving his teachers gifts. My response was "even cool kids need brownie points!" Didn't work. :(
What grade? One year I worked with the art teacher to have each child in the class do a drawing/painting, signed it with their name and wrote what they liked about the teacher. I then bound it (with my bind it all) into a book for her. She loved it, it made her cry!

I probably have enough time to get one class done, I think the grandson in the third grade will get this project to give on the last day. Got to get to school next week.
Great idea, creative, and low cost. For the fourth grader, I may get some beach balls from the dollar store, let them blow up, and they can write a message with permanent marker, let air out, take home. Nice summer item for pool, or beach, or backyard sprinkler..
Clock is ticking

I have always tried to make the teachers something at the end of the year as well, but this year my son has a man. At Christmas time my daughter's teachers both got Spiral scarves, a post it note frame, and a hershey kisses Christmas tree. At least one of the teachers liked the scarf, as we saw her out shopping at the local mall once wearing it! :-) For my son's teacher during the holidays (teacher celebrates Hannukah) we gave him a jar decorated with snow flakes and we put two bags of chocolate covered pomengranate (teacher LOVES those), a post it note frame holder, and one other little item, but I don't remember now what it was.
End of year gifts that I have done in the past were Monogrammed note cards and the notebook inside of the Stampin' Up cases.
Last year was also my daughter's last year at her elementary school. She got a number of gifts from the teachers at her school. The office staff went together and made her a basket full of items that she just loved! My daughter said there were lots of tears that day from both her and the teachers. :-)
Yes it does seem like a great day to do crafts!!! I am working on numbering my stamp sets, and all my other retired stuff so I will have all updated stuff. What doesn't sell I am donating it all to boys and girls club locally.
Gay Ferland
Well......I didnt end up getting anything accomplished. Right after I posted this morning I got a call from my mom and I had to take her to the ER. She fell and whacked her head and hurt her behind. No concussion, and luckily she had broken her coccyx years ago or she would have broken that. She has to do a follow up with her primary and go to see an eye specialist as she is having some vision problems. But it could have been worse!
Hope your mother is okay, recovery takes time. I am having to sleep in a hinged brace, sleep is still optional, the brace is heavy, bulky, and not real comfortable, but following Dr's orders. grrr
Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day. I got hanging baskets, flowers, and didn't have to cook, so it was a good day.

When it rain, it pours. The youngest grandson fell at the ballpark, and broke both wrists. He is out of baseball for the season, but he is taking it in stride, suits up and helps coach, encourage the team, and is proficient on the scoreboard even with both arms in a cast. Poor baby, just hated to see him hurt.
I saw a great idea on pinterest for end of school gift for the classes. The long popsicle tube thing at WalMart, tie a couple of those up with curly ribbon, and I found a free printable tag, HaVE A COOL SUMMER. Cute, kids will love it. and inexpensive. I had some cute pink and lime green watermelon print material, and I am making the teachers two different sized makeup bags for summer. Found zippers stashed, coordinating lining material. Hoarding has it's value sometimes. I will try to post some pictures, eventually. lol

Oh wow, Christmas. Hadn't given it one thought actually. Guess it's time to at least start thinking about it. That's overwhelming....think I'll just go back in the pool and not rush summer time. LOL!
Christmas planning has been on my mind lately because some of the shows require April or May registration. The good shows do.
So, this has caused me to actually block off days for crafting in my calendar for the erst of the year.
I did complete some glass magnets and pendants recently though
Hibernating from the Texas heat, will try to get a jumpstart on some holiday ideas. At least get all pictures, instructions printed, organized and supply list helps immensely. I may do some glass etching. The trifle dishes with a personalized initial gets my attention. Good thing my close friend has a Silhouette. I told her I would buy supply, she can cut out. Win, win situation for both of us.
Grandson has one cast off, one more to go.

I worked on some of the Frenchie's purses this weekend. They are actually alot of work if you are doing quite alot of them.
I made the mistake of cutting the squares for the purse out but not immediately using matching scraps for the liner and strap handles. So, now I am going through my scraps trying to find big enough pieces to cut that match.
Mom's feeling better. The changed up her blood pressure meds, and she seems to be doing well.
I'm off for the summer and trying to get some crafting done. Recently there have been some changes in my son's Cub Scout Pack, and my hubby and I have stepped into some new roles. Assistant Den Leader for him, and Camping Coordinator for me... He also joined a hiking club, and will earn a walking stick after 30 miles. So far he has 3 and a 1/4 miles, with another hike scheduled for next Tuesday. They just started last weekend, so we are doing okay so far. :-) Just less time to craft...

I just use 8x8 double sided paper. The long cut 2" piece will make the handles and the strip across the top of the purses. The short cut piece will fit the tab punch for the closure. I got the paper at a recycle shop for 5 cents a sheet. I can whip through these pretty quickly since I have made so many! I have TONS of mini brads that I use on these purses. If the colors don't match I just use the silver or gold ones. I do not put anything in the purses and they sell really well for me. I sell them for $2.50 or $3.00. I have people buy multiples (6-25) all the time. It only costs me about 25 cents each to make. I love making these purses.
So cute. Re the striped stocking with the curled up toe in the lower right corner: Is that a die cut, a purchased item, something you have a pattern for? I'd like to be able to create some cards/ornaments with that design. Thanks.
