Default blog background help

HI! I hope someone can help me...I have been trying to add a custom background to my blog and have had no luck. I have tried every way I can think of. (uploading to Picasa and Photobucket)
I am wondering if my blog could be set to only allow solid colored backgrounds. Is there such a setting?

Any suggestions?

Help!!

TIA!

HI there if you want to put a custom Background up, simply set your blog template to minima. Upload your background to photobucket. (Make sure its set to 1 megabyte file size). Copy the text in the 'Direct Link' Underneath the uploaded photo.
Add a new gadget to your sidebar ( the HTML/JavaScript one) and copy and paste this code there.

<style type="text/css">body {background-image: url(YOUR PHOTO URL GOES HERE); background-position: center; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-attachment: fixed; }</style>

Paste the "Direct Link" text where it says YOUR PHOTO URL GOES HERE. Keep the ( ) .
Click save, View Blog and it should be there

If you need anything else please ask. xxx

Lauren, Hi!! Thanks so much for helping me. I did what you said and it worked but only in the middle of my blog. If you can please check my blog to see what I mean.

Is there a way to have the background cover the whole page ...and a way to have it on the sides only? I'd like to see which I like better.

I really appreciate your help..I am embarrassed to say how much time I have spent trying to figure this out!

For backgrounds that are the not the full size you will have to remove the no from the repeat.

<style type="text/css">body {background-image: url(YOUR PHOTO URL GOES HERE); background-position: center; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-attachment: fixed; }</style>

I custom made the one on my blog, the other one on my challenge blog was made by someone else.
Anyway, when you make it
Make sure the page size is 14.5 x 11 inches. Add your background colour of whateva then make a box that is white measuring 11 x 7.5 inches, place that in the middle of the page. Save it as a JPEG or PNG, then upload it.
