OK, this thread is about ready to retire, but I wanted to get your opinions on something.
It's been suggested that we add another swap to our May gathering. Tell me what you think about something like this. I'm not sure I've wrapped my brain completely around it, but Ginni is willing to help think it through. It's her idea:
When I look at other table projects, I think- oh, I wish I could do that!
So, I was suggesting (if a person chose to participate), when they were making their shoebox kits they could make a couple of extra.
The difference would be that the person who received that swap may or may not have the appropriate stamps or punches. So the original person would need to do that-- not color or mount them--- and include a color photo.
So the person receiving the swap would pretty much be assembling the kit.
Then the swap would be handled like any other one.

This might work best for "card" shoebox kits.
ginni i'm not clear on this
sorry i need more info
I like the idea of a kit swap. I agree it would work best with card kits.
The way I understand it is ...
the kit creator includes everything needed to make the card (just like for a regular shoebox swap) but the recipient needs to supply her own image (or a suitable substitute). For this reason, a color photo of the finished card needs to be part of the kit.

Please correct anything I misunderstood.
Happy Crafting!

I think the kit creator includes everything including the stamped image but doesn't cut it out or color it in.
Yes, Arlenevita is correct.
The creator makes an extra shoebox kit. But they realize that when the recipient of the kit makes it at home, they may not have the stamp which was used. So the creator stamps it for the person and that becomes part of the supplies. The creator also includes a photocopy so the person can see what it should look like.
What say we move the chat to the CNY chatter thread for now? I think it will keep us going til I open the new thread for the May 2 event, which will be pretty soon. (I know, hard to believe, huh?) I can't believe we got to 5K since September!
I like the idea of the kit swap -- that way we wouldn't miss out on all the other great shoeboxes out there. Just had to say that, now I'll move to the other thread and probably say it again. ;)

Makes more sense (and I realized it when I re-read the idea after my post but my company arrived and I was trying to logoff quickly.)
Anyway ... my vote is YES to swapping extra "full kits" and YES to chatting on the other thread (but I just had to rebel and do one more post here :twisted
