Default Going Gray

For 50s/Retro Looks, try:

Going Gray/Pretty in Pink/Basic Black/US White
Going Gray/Tempting Turquoise/Basic Black/US White

For Dramatic Looks, try:

Going Gray/Night of Navy/US White
Going Gray/Real Red/Basic Black/US White
Going Gray/Eggplant Envy/Pale Plum/US White

Just a few suggestions... ~ K

I used Going Gray in workshop last weekend to demo the spotlighting technique. We stamped a floral scene in Going Gray on USW. We then stamped one flower in Ruby Red/Summer Sun on a small square of USW, matted it on black, and layered it over one of the flowers previously stamped in Going Gray. It was striking, and quite a hit! (forgive me...couldn't resist the pun)

I've used it with Baroque Burgundy and the plaidmaker to make a layer for a card, then mounted the layer on either the burgundy or grey paper. It looks really good when layered with the darker CS.

A friend has bought the cat wheel and is planning on using the grey in layering and ink for the wheel. Then she can color in the cat's so they look similar to hers.

I agree with others, that it works in a pinch when you don't have any silver CS and want that classic look.

I got my idea for this card after reading this thread.

I like Going Grey more every time I use it. It looks great with: Gable Green & Pink Passion or Real Red & Black or Blue Bliss & Pretty in Pink.

I just want to echo what others have said about Going Gray masquerading as silver-- I used it as a mat behind Brilliant Blue snowflakes which I had stamped on white. It was really pretty, if I may say so myself!

I use going grey ink and a brayer to do versamark resist for those "old' people birthday cards. Mount on black CS. Also, if you stamp a few things in black before the versamark, like "40" or a few candles, it adds more zip.

I just love Kerry's card using grey! I fell in love with grey when I saw this!

In FACT, I was looking for the perfect card for stamp camp, and this is IT! Thanks Kerry!
Oh MamaK! you make me blush!

I was going to post That I LOOOOOOOVE it with Pretty in Pink. And as someone else already mentioned I like to spray the Pearl Ex/hairspray stuff on it to make it shimmer.

I have also liked the look of it with the Slumber Party designer paper....which uses PiP and the plums....I think....
Here is a link to one I made:

Thanks to everyone for all of these FanTabUlouS ideas!

You know, it would probably be pretty with any of the Subtles colors.

Just a thought.

Here is another recent one I made with Going Gray.

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I call it my better then the 99 cent cards, nice and simple for beginners and loads of ways to add to it.

It also works well with ghosts and Halloween (Itty Bitty Backgrounds). I saw someone had it with Bats. It' funny, I use it a lot and couldn't tell you how right now. Pink and gray... perfect.
