Default Why I became an SU Demonstrator!!!!!

I love the fact that I get a discount of 20% off of everything I order. It helps to support my habit. I started out as a hobby demo, but starting out this year I decided to make it into a lucrative business. I have had a great three months so far, and am going strong. For those of you who are considering doing this, I say GO FOR IT!!!!! Melony

I agree! I started with just a stamp club that met once a month at my house. We have so much fun together. It is a "girl's night out" for us. After three and a half years, we are still going strong!

Default yeah!

Well said! If you want to save money recruit as a demonstrator and save 20%+ on EVERY high quality thing you buy! How can you go wrong? That's what I do. I have a few customers here and there, but the majority of my sales are from ME!

I'm in a position similar to Jody. Have a couple of customers that love SU products and they buy from me, but I'm my own best customer. The quality of SU products spoiled me from even wanting anything else!! I became a demo in January and have never regretted it for one second. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about making the leap.

I became a demo to support my hobby as well. Though, I guess my ABSOLUTE LOVE for SU! became quite infectuous to many around me. Now, I have quite the growing customer base! There must be SOME reason SU! does so well huh? oh wait! It's probably because their products are SO GREAT!

I signed up after attending 3 workshops...the Demo made it look so easy and I couldn't resist. The projects that we had made were so easy to make and when I showed them off the reaction was wow, how'd you do that and I would never have the time to devote to this...then I would tell them that it only took about 10 minutes from start to finish on each project. I was hooked from the start.

I became a demo after placing two big orders. I was completely hooked and decided the 20% discount couldn't be beat. The products are top quality, especially the inks, cardstock, stamps, eyelets, buttons... you get the idea. I have tried "other" brands in the beginning and they just sit in my drawer.

I became a demo because I wanted to help other creativity challenged people find the artist within! Paraphrased from my awesome upline - Hi Ellen!!!

I felt that I was artistic challenged (read dork) but SU makes me feel like Michaelanglo - well if he made cards/scrapbook pages.

I became a demo for so many reasons....

First-I am in LOVE with SU products, the prices, quality, and coordinating colors, cant be matched, and now I can get a fab discount on everything I "need" to buy!

Second-being a demo is such a creative outlet for me! I get to design projects and share them with others, and since I have become a demo, I am much more likely to share my work with others. All the "oohs" and "ahhs" really get me going!

Third-being a demo gives me hope that someday I will be able to turn my Stampin up business into a full time job and I can quit the corporate rat race that I am currently stuck in!

Becoming a demo was one of the best decisions I made!

The reason I became a demo is simple - I always go for the highest quality!

I thought about getting into rubber stamping for years, but wasn't too impressed with the products until I went to my first SU workshop. And I became a demo right away so I could build my stamp supplies quickly.

I'm a perfectionist, I admit it  If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well!

I did it because I "had to have it ALL". I figured, why make my demonstrator rich ? Instead I decided to take advantage of the discount for myself. By the way my demonstrator is now my upline and my very best stampin buddy.

Everyone has already basically summed it all up for me too! The one thing I didn't expect was how SU takes such good care of its demos and rewards them for their hard(and even not so hard) work! Look at all these freebies we get all the time.

I love my upline too! My upline, my upline's upline, her upline, etc. They are all awesome!!

By the way Melony, your posts are the best!

Can you just imagine how many sincere salutations sets they are making? All the demos got one for free, then new demos during sell-a-bration got one, now the 1/2 off!! There must be a whole division managing this set! I agree SU is AWESOME. My first hostess order is on the way and I just put in another customer order. I likely won't make any money dur to my addiction, but oh well --- that is what the full time job is for right!

I signed on for all the same reasons. It was clear I had already spent more than the $200 for the starter kit & I wasn't close to stopping the spending so I figured no risk!

Why I stay an SU demo is because I just have so much fun with it!

I also became an SU demo to support my own habit. I also love the fine quality of the products. After joining, I was also surprised to get a lot of incentives.

I started just buying stamps--didn't want to spend money on all those other products that I could buy at Walmart cheaper! Then I got the chance to use that terrific paper and ribbon and I knew I had to have it all. So I signed up as a demo--and let other people help pay for all those great products I wanted! Being a demo has saved my DH lots of money

I bacame a demo because I knew I could keep myself in business. I didn't like paying all the S&H charges, now with my discount, I don't have to. The discount saves us tax and shipping. Plus we get an extra percentage at the first of the month based on our sales.

I got in to it totally by accident!!

Well my SIL convinced me to have workshop at my house that she wanted to co-host with me. I had never seen stamping before, but that night at the workshop I had so much fun.

About a month later, some of those guests asked to place more orders (the demo that did my workshop was over an hour from me), so I thought I'd just place an outside order for anyone that wanted. Then one of the girls from work asked me to bring some stamping items into work to show them some 'how-tos'. Then another coworker asked me to come over to her house & show 3 of her friends how to stamp.

As I was totaling up my orders (about $550) one of my coworkers asked if I was doing these orders as a demonstrator or as a hostess. "Oh, just as a hostess" I told her. She then asked "Why!?! You've done all the work of being a demonstrator why don't you become one and reap the benefits of it for yourself?" I had NEVER thought that I wanted to be a "salesperson" I told her, but she - in all her words of wisdom - told me that I wasn't being a salesperson but just a teacher sharing a craft. An idea was born, and after checking with my DH I thought why not share this with others?

I signed up & turned those outside orders - that I didn't even realize I was being a real demonstrator for - in as my first sales!

Default Why I became a SU! demonstrator?

I got into this because I needed something to get me out of my depression. I had cancer and been in a car accident that injured my back and couldn't work. I got the all clear 2-1/2 years after my surgery to remove the tumors and found SU! and joined a few months later. My Mom, MIL, and Grandmother were all getting very ill and they passed away within a couple years of each other and I felt like an orphan. SU! gave me just what I needed to keep me in touch with friends and not have that horrible feeling of what to say and do. I guess I can say that SU! really saved my life and gave me a reason to love my passion.
I love to share with others....it gives me a happiness beyond compare.

I went to my coworker's parties, she is a demo. I was stamping for about a year and a half and I went to another demo's stamping party and when I was answering all the questions people had I finally felt confident enough to think about being a demo. I signed up when my cowoker left town (we are both military folks) so I would have 24 hour a day access to SU and I haven't regretted it since. I have done some parties here and there, but they are totally by chance . . .through no effort of my own but for people that see my cards or scrapbooks and ask for a party. Maybe one day I'll throw some effort into it . . . .

I started stamping like crazy as a stress reliever when my dad had cancer and a stem-cell transplant. I had a workshop with my upline and it totaled over $700, so I though HMMMMMM. It would be great to make some money for the stuff I want to buy wouldn't it.

That was 2 whole years ago in April and I am happy to report that my dad is cancer free!!

I've been stamping for a long time and been a SU! demonstrator for a little over 5 years. Initially I became a demo to help me meet people in a new community. But the more workshops I did, the more I realized how much I loved showing people how to be creative.

I can't draw at all, so I always assumed that I wasn't creative. How wrong I was! A job in publishing taught me that I had a good eye for color and page layout. Stamping showed me that I could have loads of fun and get tons of compliments using those God-given gifts.

Now I absolutely love changing "I could never do that" statements into "yes, I can do that!" My hostesses know that I will say at least once during a show, "You can do everything I've done tonight. It doesn't matter if you don't think you are creative or you haven't succeeded at any other craft, you can be a great stamper. I'm here to help you succeed." Very rarely does anyone prove me wrong!

I don't do lots of workshops because I'm also a pastor, and sermons and workshops both seem to need attention at the same time. :( Many a time I've thought of quitting, but I'm still at it because I love being a demo and I love the quality and value of SU! products.

I think about being a demo all the time. But I just don't know where I would find the customers. I could invite my son's friends' mothers to a workshop but after that...unless someone turned into an addict....I guess it's not a big deal; if it doesn't work out, you just quit. I already have pretty much everything in the starter kit, but I guess that's pretty flexible. The idea of being "on the spot" and having to run the workshop isn't too appealing, but at the rate I'm going, I could just be a hobby demo!

Wendy -

The Starter Kit is a good deal and you can pick just about all of it yourself.

The main reason I wanted to post is the whole workshop thing isn;t all that difficult - you're a stamper already - think of it more like just stampin' with friends! I know that although there is some prep time involved before the workshop, once i get there, I am really just showing people what I already know how to do! And then they give me money for it!!!

You could start with your son's friends and since you have kids, post something at the library. You might be surprised how fast you can build a customer base! Besides, if you are buying SU stuff already, making the qaurterly miniumum should be a peice of cake.

Make that leap - be a demo! You could make enough $$ to buy all the things you normally would pay someone else for!!!!

At the rate I'm going...I won't have to sell much As for "they give me money for it...." Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but you only get $$ if they buy something. You don't charge for the workshop? Unless you have-my demo calls them Stamp Your 'Art Out-where you pay $15 and can use all her stuff...Which I don't do anymore because I have my own and that's a little steep...

Anyway, thanks for the encouragement. I'm still thinking!

I was actually very happy just buying from nice demos that my friends hosted with until I realized that I like to teach ppl how to stamp! so with very little education I get to be an ART TEACHER! and this is the only way I can do that cuz I sure can't draw!

lovin' it!
