Default What are Stickles?

I've seen a lot of cards that people adhere 'stickles'. Is it like glitter glue or do you need to glue? I've also seen it used on many cards in various colors. Where can you purchase it.

TIA
Arlene

It's essentially glitter glue. You can get somthing similiar at Michaels or do a search on google.

Thank you. I'll have to look the next time I'm at either Michaels or my LSS later in the week.

They're evil EVIL! They come in too many colors!

<laugh> I just bought a set of 35 colors on Ebay 2 weeks ago. 35 is a bit much.

Must get Diamond Stickles. No color but the loveliest bling you can find. Just yummy!

Stickles are GREAT....I find that I use the clear colors more then the colored one. Crystal and Diamond dust are my two favs...but I have MANY different colors.

My only question for some of you is what do you do when they get clogged??? I have tried using a pin but tht does not always work either. Any suggestions??

My favorite is Star Dust. I have colors but keep going back to this one. JMO Nice thing about stickles is that you get the glitter but it doesn't fall off on your clothes like regular glue and glitter. It's there to stay.

Scubascrapper, I don't think that Michael's carries the Stickles brand. They have Scribbles in the fabric painting department that work the same way for 99c.
I got a whole bunch from JoAnn's last week for 70c. They might still be on sale there.
Here's a link to the Duncan website with all the Scribbles available.

I agree with some of the other posters that diamond dust is a must if you are going to get stickles. My other favorite is fruit punch.

Here's a link to all the Stickles colors.

I print out these sheets from the websites, then put a small amount of the colors I have on these sheets for my inventory binder. Helps avoid duplicate purchases and you can see what the color really looks like on paper.

I am in love with Stickles now since finding out about them here! Before I used Stickles, I used diamond glaze then sprinkled craft glitter on the glaze. I thought that was great and it does work good. But, Stickles are so much easier to use with no mess! I have become an an Stickles addict! I use them all the time!
I have not tried diamond dust, I maybe shouldn't because I don't need another addiction ;)

Ok, forgive me if this sounds stupid, but what is "crystal & diamond dust"? Are these just clear version of the stickles?

I'm going to try and make it to the LSS tomorrow and check to see if they have some of this.

Ok not great at describing things but here goes...Crystal and Diamond Dust are two stickle colors. Kinda like a clear sparkle with a hint of frost look. Reminds me of a snowflake or frost on a window. You can use color underneath them and come up with a kind of custom stickle color. HTH

If you want a white stickles use the Frosted Lace. I started out with Christmas Red and then had to have them all. Stickles are the best thing ever made!!!!! I don't know how I ever lived without them. I buy mine in bulk at Createforless.com and I use them on EVERYTHING!!!! I use a dot of it in place of a brad if I have many layers of card stock and need to save on weight for mailing. Anytime I have used stickles I've always gotten a Wow!
On a recent trip to the mainland, I looked at Michaels and even asked the store associates. They had never heard of them. I also have the "list" of all the colors and printed it out and then taped it to my box full of stickles so I know what colors I have. I don't need the list anymore because I have them all. Out of everything in my stamping room these are my favorite.

I keep a paper clip on my worktop and if the Stickles seems clogged, I unbend the paper clip and use one end to stick it into the bottle. It is best to be careful after unclogging the Stickles, so my next step is to squeeze some onto a spare piece of scrap paper. If the Stickles is going to burp after unclogging, I'd rather it do it on a spare piece of paper. Then I can count on a steady application on my project. ;)

I love my Stickles; couldn't do without them. Just a little bling goes a long way and makes a plain card or pp pop! I store mine upside-down in a TH case that was originally designed for AI. The case will hold 28 upside down in the little boxes and the remainder I just keep at one end with a piece of foam to steady them. If I transport them outside of the case and they do clog, I usually find that a straight pin or even a safety pin will unclog them. I know a lady who tapes a small straight pin to each bottle "just in case".

Stickles ROCK! Glitter and GLue all in one. I have little patience for dry times, so I usually just set the project aside or if I'm feeling really crafty, get out my heat gun to speed it up a bit. Tim Holtz has new distress colors coming out soon. I can't wait to see them!

Default stickles?

The best thing is to remain ignorant. That will save you big $$$$$!!! I thought that I didn't like them, but then I bought them because of some bad girls on SCS and now I've got just about every color. I'm off to look for a chocolate brown.....

I have a friend that has every color of Sticklers there is...we call her the "Glitter Queen" LOL! But seriously, I love sticklers...I use the Diamond, Star Dust, and Crystal the most. I break out my other colors during the holidays.

As to the ones by Michaels...I tried them but didn't care for them...they got too globby and gooey and were hard to spread evenly on my card. So I donated them to my mom's church ladies who make crafts to sell and now I only use Sticklers!

7 KIDS has stickles for $1.79 and they have the coupon code for SCSers to save an extra 10% (SCS10) http://www.7kidscollegefund.com/category_s/112.htm

They said on the store blog that they are getting the new Tim Holtz and the Glitz stickles too.

I am right now using Stardust on everything. I love that color. It is perfect for everything. If you are starting out using Stickles, one of the white ones is something you have to get. They are so pretty.

Does anyone know of an online store in Edmonton, Alberta Canada that sells Stickles?

I bought some from just such a store last year, they delivered to my daughter's work in Edmonton and she brought them to me in my little village of Linden. I cannot find anything in any of my past emails to give me any info on who, what , where...can't find an invoice...nada

Am hooked on the little devils now and would really like to get more from this store - my daughter in Edmonton wants some too and is pretty well convinced I'm losing it because I can't find anything on them. I've surfed the net a bit but nothing in Edmonton. They may have closed up but if any of you could help...?
