Default Brayer?

What all does a brayer do? I think I've seen people ink up large stamps with one. I guess you run it on the ink pad and then the stamp. Is that its only use?

Nope! There a few fun techniques you can do with the brayer... like a brayer background or bouncing brayer. I have a few cards in my gallery that I used my brayer with... those would link you to wonderful brayer "experts" or type in brayer in a gallery search. I'm loving my brayer lately!

Brayers are great for inking up background stamps with really fine detail, such a linen BG. It eliminates the lines of the inkpad. You can also use it with the emboss/resist technique, after you emboss an image you can use your brayer to color the rest of the cs. HTH

The brayer is used in 16 of the techniques or projects in the Splitcoast resources. To find them click on the resources link at the top of this page. Then use the search box to find brayer.

Many of those will show fun new things for using a brayer.

Ahhhh, you haven't met the Queen of thr Brayer! Michelle Zindorf is an inspiration. You really have to check out her blog:

I don't brayer that often but I do love it for backgrounds and resist. I'm gong to try some of the other techniques. One of my favorite backgorunds is a susnset:

I agree with asuncionshija, Michelle does beautiful work. I just broke down and bought a brayer, I never thought of it for inking background stamps, great idea. I can't wait to go to resources and check out the ideas. Thanks

I have a brayer question for everyone and anyone. Many of the brayers I have seen have a shorter roller than 4.25 inches wide. Is the Stampin Up brayer wider? How wide? I have a Fiskars one with the changeable roller that has been discontinued and it's real wide. My girlfriend would love one and I can't find another. So want to know about the SU one. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies with the information wanted.

Huh! I didn't even know they made them wider! I've looked and looked too (just on the off chance) but never seen one. If you do find one, will you post the info? Pretty please?
